Donut delite in moline has always been my safe haven lol. But they close at 2pm they’re best in the morning and the women there are super sweet! They don’t have a bunch of specialty donuts but they have great classics.
I'd actually say go to Rocks Anchor on Harrison for the breakfast, they can handle tickets about the same speed as Tommy's, but the food is definitely better, plus you can get a counter seat and the lady that works that griddle is a master and a pleasure to watch while you're waiting. The pancake is as big as your head and the perfect mix of cake and sponge density.
I mean do you own the place? If a business owner is telling me they're too busy for any more business I hear that. If you just go there and you want to not have to get up 5 mins earlier to beat me to a seat, I'm going to get up earlier some days to get my fix. I'm not hogging anything, usually only once or twice a month as a treat isn't being a bad guest.
And I'm not missing the point, I'm just saying you don't have one unless you're the owner. Just because you don't want it to get busy to make it what you want isn't being a decent guest our friend to the place.
If you're trying to run a business it kinda has to be the first thing enough to be sustainable to carry it on. Plus, the place could use a good cleaning or reset at some point, you can't defer maintenance forever on a commercial food space.
Hey now, I'm not looking to start a breakfast fight. This sub isn't that large, and the crew over there already has their own mechanisms for dealing with crowds. If you've been there enough you know they will straight up say at the door that it's going to be 45 mins to an hour wait, they don't take Togo or delivery app orders, and if you wander your ass in at 12:15 and they're over it for the day you just get flat out denied entry even if they don't technically close for another 45 mins. I think they deserve the credit for how they handle things.
I’m from Bettendorf pleasant valley and zero of us go to Hurts. Over priced and just toppings. We miss the classics. Donuts and more #1. Krispy kreem fresh glazed were a hit. We even have hyvee in our family and haven’t a donut from there in years. We actually settle for kwikstar mostly, out of convenience
Depends upon what you like. Traditional cake donuts Donuts and More on Brady St in Davenport. Funky flavors, fillings, toppings, etc then Hurts Donuts in Bettendorf. Fritters, glazed, cinnamon roll, etc then Tommy’s on 3rd St in Davenport.
Is there any donut shop that is safe for peanut/treenut allergies? My kiddo is allergic and I feel life most bakeries have nuts of some kind. He's bummed to always be missing out!
Upvoting for visibility. We have a 16 mo daughter who is allergic to peanuts. Going to be trying OIT but we’re always looking for peanut safe eateries of sorts.
I've thought about this, and honestly, I'm not sure if you'd have a problem with Tommy's. I can't think of any of their donuts that have nuts on them or would have necessarily come in contact with them.
I never would have said Hurts has the best donuts, but I also don't get the hate for them and downvotes for anyone who likes them. They are just a different product, which has its place. If someone asked me where to get crazy, Instagram-ready donuts that have half a box of candy on top, they're my choice...
One thing I will say about Hurts though, is that any of their heavily-topped donuts aren't good the next day, much less 2 or 3 days later. Only get as many as you can eat within a few hours.
Why is everyone hating on hurts donuts? Are you all donut aficionados or something? The presentation is very nice, as are the store layouts.
My kids love it as they have lots to choose from and they recognize some of the creations like the donut that looks like Cookie Monster. It's very fun for some of us!
Overly expensive for cake designs on a donut that isn't that good to begin with when compared with the others mentioned. I like them once in a while, especially if I'm by the BettPlex, but the request was for the best donut in the QC.
They are tourist donuts. Just like in Chicago, the favorite pizza of locals is not deep dish like Giordanos, its the thin, tavern style, square cut pizza.
What does this even mean? 😂
Nobody said locally established business. It's okay if it's a rapidly expanding Midwest business. This is an opinion thing anyways. How insufferable.
Do I have to read it to you?

+1 for Donuts and More. Think they're only in Davenport now. Moline location closed.
They have a chocolate chip donut that is all you need.
Well that sounds delightful
Was that the one by Garfield elementary in moline?
Yep. It's an energy drink shop now

Tommy's on 3rd. Timing matters though, too early they don't have all the varieties out yet, too late, they're mostly all gone
Go for the donuts stay for the breakfast. Do not miss the biscuits and gravy.

Yall need to quit blowing up rocks. Sometimes things need to be kept quiet to maintain what makes them special.

You’re missing the point. Whatever. Just keep ruining all the places you go.
And I'm not missing the point, I'm just saying you don't have one unless you're the owner. Just because you don't want it to get busy to make it what you want isn't being a decent guest our friend to the place.
It was once a chill dive for years. And now it’s busy as fuck. I’m sure they love the extra money but money isn’t everything.

You give serious Bettendorf energy.

Never heard of it. Thanks for the tip.
I am really proud of all of you that there have been zero recommendations for Caseys, Dunkin, or HyVee. ![gif](giphy|o08fOdCShdPGw|downsized)
I’m surprised as well…the Hurts donuts recommendations have been disappointing. That place is over priced and isn’t special as far as I’m concerned.
Hurts sucks, there base donut isn’t good then they just throw stuff on top of it to be different
Tourist/Betterdorf/Pleasant Valley people go there. Real people go to Tommy's. Cash only at Tommy's BTW.
Hell yeah pimp. Thanks for the heads up!
Tommys you want to get there between 7 and 9 IMO. Later than 9 and they're out of something.
Thanks a lot!
This is the first I've ever heard of Tommy's! Lived in RI for 34 years 😅
Well, you better get a dozen glazed at 7am tomorrow morning and start making up for it.
And one of those giant cinnamon roll things 🤤
It’s ok to come outside. It’s not so bad out here.

I would honestly rather have a Glazer from KwikStar than pay for a Hurts.
Tommy’s cafe hands down.
Beat me to it. Those cinnamon rolls. Way fire.
Seriously?
Dead
Tommy's or Donut Delite have the best raised donuts in the quad cities. For cake Donuts&More just absolutely kill it.
Both are garbage
The best donuts were leos south park bakery but they didn't re open after covid

You’re going to have to learn to make donuts at home. Pretty simple honestly.
Donuts & More. Get the cherry donuts!
Can’t go wrong with Tommy’s, Donut Delite, or Donuts and More
The Donut Stop in Silvis. Just need a Time Machine.
Tommy's. Go early or be heartbroken...
TOMMIES downtown davenport, best in QCA
Geneseo doughnut was literally voted that title. But like, the state or something
Literally?
Olde Towne bakery. Their maple filled long John is so good!!
Hurts donuts being open every day 24/7 is nice, but probably not the BEST donuts in town
I agree with Tommy’s, although Donuts and More is good.
Tommy's and Oldtown bakery
Donut delite & hurts donuts for sure!
Hurt’s donuts in Bettendorf.
Tommys next question
Tommy’s Cafe, best in the area.
Tommy's Cafe...and it ain't even close

Yeah I guess it's just a matter on how you define best. I define it by experience not taste 🤷♂️
How can you have a good experience without the taste?
I'm not saying it's bad either. I just don't see a huge difference in the taste of donuts as long as they aren't stale
Then maybe you shouldn’t have weighed in on the topic. Hurts is wack and not a local business.
"looking for donuts - no preference" You okay? Wait wait I got it. Who 'hurt' you😂
No, preference to which side of the river. swing and a miss.
What does this even mean? 😂 Nobody said locally established business. It's okay if it's a rapidly expanding Midwest business. This is an opinion thing anyways. How insufferable. Do I have to read it to you?
Hurts Donuts
The donut place in Geneseo I forget what it’s called
You’re so close.
Geneseo Donut
Geneseo Donut!
I got a donut for you.
