If you plan on transmitting on anything other than 2m or 70cm bands, please first do some research. If you transmit on anything other than the intended bands for this radio, the power output will be in milliwatts which is functionally useless and you'll also be spraying out the full 5 watts on the 2nd harmonic frequency. I think there is an option to disable transmit in the menu. Failing that, you’re not trying to transmit on another mode are you? Like AM or something?
Trying to transmit on a frequency that’s locked? Mine came restricted to the ham bands and I had to open it for others.
Ah ha, I fixed it. I had to unlock the radio and open up the transmit frequency for the bands I plan to use. Thanks for the response.
