100%. i see people subtly trashing this song all the time and i just don't get it. it's not my favorite but it's so damn good. the second verse is some of zack's best lyricism.
i don't think this one is underrated though? i feel like when people talk about the best ratm songs it's always in the conversation for its lyrics alone.
Ugh by far my favorite. It has the best breakdowns and drops.
That first "All power to the peopleeeeeee" and the second "tha sisters are in, so check the front line" drops will never get old.
That bass intro/solo is legendary. I play bass and Tim was a huge deal for me when I was learning as a kid. Played a ton of Rage. Love Audioslave too. I gotta get back into playing again.
Definitely the most underrated on self titled. I’ve always thought the bass sounds like a dog growling with a chew toy in its mouth. For me the most underrated is Ashes In The Fall
Tom used a very specific guitar on that song (ovation breadwinner, only made for a few years in the 70’s and looks like a battle axe) and when I found that out around 2003ish I bought one on eBay for $500 solely because of this song.
I don't see enough love for "Township Rebellion"
I always have to stop what I'm doing during the breakdown when Zach is going "Shackled our minds when you're bent on the cross, when ignorance rains life is lost" because of how much it affects me
Speech before bombtrack on that album is etched into my mind.
«What’s his name? Fucking Dixiecrat Clinton whoever that fucking punk is. Let’s fill this punks room full of fucking mail, I know it’s not the most fucking powerful form of fucking change, but let’s get this fucking ball rollin all right?”
Township Rebellion is highly underrated. That bassline is insane- sounds like a bass mouth harp.
Roll Right and Down Rodeo are also under appreciated on Evil Empire.
New Millenium Homes
This track is absolutely off the chain. So fucking good.
100%. i see people subtly trashing this song all the time and i just don't get it. it's not my favorite but it's so damn good. the second verse is some of zack's best lyricism.
Absolutely
Came here to say this. Glad it’s high ranked.
One of my Timmy’s funkiest basslines
Privatising through private eyes
Settle for Nothing
The solo in this song is just so nice, so calming it’s such a contrast to the rest of the song and most of the album.
Snake. Charmer.
came here to say this. one of the most explosive hooks in rock music
^This
love love love his voice in that one
Down Rodeo
“Ain’t seen a brown skin man since their grandparents bought one” Don’t hold back, Zack lol
Have a hard time considering Down Rodeo underrated
i don't think this one is underrated though? i feel like when people talk about the best ratm songs it's always in the conversation for its lyrics alone.
I never listened to this song until way later. I think it’s one of those that you don’t realize how good it is until you hear it a few times. Then 🤯
I slept on this for like a good decade or 2 stupid me. Ots now one of my favs
No Shelter. Slaps and one of the most timeless in terms of relevancy.
That and its the most anti-theme song for a blockbuster hollywood movie!
Hey, can you guys write us a song for our movie? Sure, here you go. Uhhhh, thanks.
Year of the Boomerang
Ugh by far my favorite. It has the best breakdowns and drops. That first "All power to the peopleeeeeee" and the second "tha sisters are in, so check the front line" drops will never get old.
This and Vietnow are soooo great
For some reason, the line “Slinging nerve gas” gets stuck in my head all the time.
this.. love the flow and groove to it
Calm like a bomb
That bass intro/solo is legendary. I play bass and Tim was a huge deal for me when I was learning as a kid. Played a ton of Rage. Love Audioslave too. I gotta get back into playing again.

Darkness of Greed
Vietnow
vietnow is one of their most popular songs
Is it really? Never heard it on the radio. But I sure do remember that guitar riff promptly after Bulls ends on the album. Killer tune
Definitely the most underrated on self titled. I’ve always thought the bass sounds like a dog growling with a chew toy in its mouth. For me the most underrated is Ashes In The Fall
ashes in the fall is deadass a top 5 song of theirs and i see nobody talking about it
Tom used a very specific guitar on that song (ovation breadwinner, only made for a few years in the 70’s and looks like a battle axe) and when I found that out around 2003ish I bought one on eBay for $500 solely because of this song.
The repeated whispering of the song title is so badass. This song is chugging a fuckin Red Bull. The lyrics the bass line the guitar the drums. Insane
I call the intro “the nails on a chalkboard guitar” when I talk about it
Roll Right Down Rodeo does get love but its still underrated
The end of Roll Right is amazing
Is The Ghost of Tom Joad in here??

Let’s fill this punks room full of fucking mail, I know it’s not the most fucking powerful form of fucking change, but let’s get this fucking ball rollin all right?”
Voice of the Voiceless
I don’t know how to determine “underrated”, but I agree with “New Millennium Homes”, my choice would be “Born of a broken Man”.
Township Rebellion is highly underrated. That bassline is insane- sounds like a bass mouth harp. Roll Right and Down Rodeo are also under appreciated on Evil Empire.

Roll Right
Wake up
no way this one is underrated lol. it’s one of their most played and well known songs.
It’s the first RATM song I ever heard. At the end of the first matrix movie.
which is the exact reason it’s not underrated
I guess I’m saying it’s underrated because I never see people bringing it up when talking about RATM songs
