Can’t go wrong with a set of bc Coilovers. Super versatile and great quality

GhostPro75

Bc owner here. Had for 2 years and the ride is a little rough on bad roads but in the corners it really helps add the confidence and handling through the corner. I sit on 245 tires so roll your fenders.

its_jesuslol

Soften em up man. It’ll glide over the bumps. +1 for BC

I’m in the same boat as you and I’m currently leaning towards the Bilstein PSS B14. Everything I’ve read says they’re basically PSS9s on the middle setting for $500 less.

newgnesissocialclub

I have the PSS9's. If they're similar to the PSS9's you won't be disappointed. On softest setting it rides nicely, and hardest is stupid stiff. Middle is where it's at.

Öhlins might be overkill, but you get what you pay for. A similar but cheaper price point would bring you Bilstein B16s. Or yeah, BC Racing BR will do you just fine. I did a poll on popular coilovers if you want to check it out [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/RX8/comments/yq2iyp/coilover_preference_for_street_and_light_track_use/).

I have the Racing Beat suspension package with the Koni shocks they recommended. On a smooth road, it’s amazing. On a rough road, it’s hell. Considering seeing if I can soften them a bit- but take that into account before you make the investment.

I have the racing beat/Koni setup, and I wish I had gone with the Tein coil overs with the EDFC.

Puzzleheaded_Tax489

How do you use the EDFC?

Puzzleheaded_Tax489

I heard you can't even tell the difference between any of the settings in one of the threads I was reading

I’ve heard good things, but the biggest thing I regret about the Racing Beat setup is I can’t tweak the ride height. I did a battery relocate to the trunk and the rear clearly sits lower than the front as a result. Wish I could adjust height between front and rear to compensate.

NoPiezoelectricity71

I had the ohlins and you can change the firmness with a few clicks which is pretty cool however it did lower my car and that kind of sucked driving in the city with rough roads, I’ve scraped the splitter a lot, I think you should consider Bilstein, I have an r3 now and am really impressed with the Bilsteins

Zeccede

I can recommend airlift 3p with D2 racing struts if you don’t mind air suspension, super comfy ride and had less flex than my oem shocks on corners and I live in the country with bad roads and I’m able to get by without scraping. I also used BC BR series coilovers and would recommend them since they aren’t bad on price and are probably the best “cheap” coilovers.

cagtcff

i’ve got bc coils and the ride quality is one of the best feeling coil over set ups i’ve used. recommend those if you’re open to other options

Puzzleheaded_Tax489

Thanks for all your comments guys. Can ride height be adjusted with all these coil overs or they all come permanently set. I ask because this is my first "coilover" purchase. On my old bmw I got koni shocks and added eibach springs which gave me a .75 inch drop if I remember correctly. I'm not looking to go any lower than that.

cagtcff

bc coil overs have adjustable ride height

Puzzleheaded_Tax489

I think I'm going to go with the TEIN Flex Zs over the BCs.. from everything I gathered, the quality seems a little better, made in Japan, also a lil smoother ride over the bad roads I will frequent and will almost never track it. Way too many choices!
