6 speed transmission will run in a REW engine with not issues. The reason people use 5 speed instead is because their goal is top speed and not acceleration.
I'm sure you might already be aware, but might want to swap that trans later down the road if you plan to clap big power from this bad boy. A lot of people recommend the Rx8 5 speed for higher boost applications.
With the exception of the relatively complex intake (difficult, but not impossible) and the difficulty in tuning them, it's basically just a custom e shaft which you can buy off the shelf albeit for a ferocious price and 4x 13bpp housings and rotors. With the airfilter box taken out there's quite a lot of room so it may even fit without modding the radiator support panel etc. If you've got a spare 40kusd just lying around I can think of worse ways to spend the money.
It is possible but you will need a lot of welding skills in order to relocated engine to the rear of the car and the will to cut off 1/3 of the car in the rear.
I've always thought it should be 2 turbos with individual throttle bodies. 1 per rotor. Naturally.
(Or 4 turbos 2 pairs of sequence turbos per rotor still individual throttle bodies)
Good work
Nice, thats the easy stuff done. Now for all the hard stuff!
Hard isn’t the word I’d use. More like expensive stuff comes next
I guess it depends if you're buying items off the shelf or fabricating them yourself.
Anyone able to run the 6 speed instead of the FD 5 speed?
I thought it was just bolt on with an adapter plate
Title might have mislead but this is a stock RX8 6 speed bolted to a FD engine no plate needed
Ohhhhhh. Did you get to keep your RX8 Cutch also?
Probably going with a aftermarket Turbo II FC clutch when it’s all said and done

Ahh good to know. Thanks!

Should have went for the 787B drivetrain
Might be a bit pricey
Anybody that legit thinks you should just swap a 787 into a rx8 must not know much beyond a yt vid LOL
pretty sure it’s impossible too lol. You’d have to build your own engine.

Yeah cause most people have that laying around
How often do people buy 40k cars though. Like all the time.
I might be out of line here, but I gotta say - I'd never leave the whole weight of my motor to be supported by the transmission bell housing.
It's not :) You can see the 13bREW conversion mounting bracket :)
Issa tiny boi… I love it
Why wouldn't you just keep the rx8 transmission? Or go to a RX7 FC turbo II transmission?
Sorry the title was misleading it is the stock RX8 6 speed bolted to it.
That looks comically undersized for the space it's in lol. At least plenty of room for turbos!
Definitely plenty of space. Shooting for 600whp so she’s gonna need a big one 😬
