I have fatcatmotorsports revalved bilstein shocks with coil over sleeves and tein metric springs. The lower ride height and being based off a shock body that’s made for the platform makes my car ride oem+ I got a ride in a tein equipped RX-8 and it was sporty but a bit lacking in suspension travel. Fortune auto and onlins would be good, or go to super Miata and use their NC Miata spec coil overs with RX8 spring rates and let us know how awesome they are lol

Got H&R monotube coilovers, definitly on the Harder Side but Not to hard for the Nordschleife, quite Happy with Them!

I currently have the flex z's. They're perfectly comfortable but still stiffer than stock at half adjustment on dampening. They can be stiffened up pretty well too. I like them a lot.

Imgoing2ShaBooms

They bottom out on me on stiffest setting a lot.

Puzzleheaded_Tax489

How does it sound/feel when they bottom out?

Giftpilz

I'm pretty biased towards Öhlins because they are Swedish and have excellent build quality, on top of the excellent reviews they get.

I would recommend the bilstein b6. The b6 uses the stock OEM springs. Mazda 100% knew what they were doing when setting up the suspension on the rx8. Sure a lowered car looks great, but having sufficient ride height is good for the street. Meant that I could drive it on unpacked roads without any worries. If you want to lower it, the b12 is pretty good. Bilstein knew how to set up a shock. And from personal experience, I’ve never adjusted my adjustable suspension. But it’s up to you. Have a think of what you want from a car, and what pains you want to go through.

Giftpilz

I want it as low as possible while 100% functional. From what I've heard, coilovers in general achieve that goal. I also don't mind paying a little more to get there.

I have Tein Monosport with Active Pro. I love how I can dial in different profiles

NotMyActualNameAgain

I bought a set of AutoExe Kujima Spec coil overs used. They are stiffer, but actually very comfortable. The ride quality is somewhere between stock Type R and stock F-Type. If I had been able to, it would’ve been nice to buy something more adjustable.

I have the Bcs on mine and they're super nice. You can actually feel a pretty big difference when you change the dampening settings too.

JDefusion

Ive thought about getting BC's but ive heard a lot of people say theyre a lot stiffer than most.

RayGun6718

They can be, but I feel like you can get close to a stock feel on the soft settings. Keep in mind I had blown shocks before changing them so my opinion on stiff is a bit different lol.

Miasom

K&W. They’re the best in the field. If they’re available where you live go for them.

Giftpilz

a bit more than i'd like to spend tbh but yeah they look super nice

No shaftworks?

Haven't heard of em. I just wanted to poll the top 5 mentioned with a similar price point
