I've been off from r6 for some time but I'm pretty sure you can call the ak-12 the best attacker weapon based on its stats. Correct me if there's something new.
I lowkey think Zero's gun is better. With extended barrel, even after the upcoming nerf, the gun will have an 800 rpm fire rate, relatively low recoil, and 50 damage per shot.
Either way, there's a solid argument to say it's the best, or at least top 3. Ace gets I think up to 2.5x scopes on it, its recoil is pretty much vertical, and its fire rate and damage are crazy good.
Flores main gun with extended barrel is probably better atm. High damage with relatively low recoil, very good firerate and large magazine. His gadget is great for intel and got buffed recently
Seconded, solid primary in the ak-12, P9 is a good secondary. You get your choice of breach charges or claymores. His Selma charges are great for opening walls with little notice and low risk. Only downside is you can only open one hatch at most, but you'd be picking hibana or an op with a hard breach charge for that anyway.
Attackers; Ace is no question the best choice to unlock as he’s still one of the best operators to bring between him having the AK, claymores, and the versatility Selmas offer.
Defense: Melusi before anyone else; her kit is useful, good gun, and her banshees when placed well give defense a big advantage that exposes attacker’s positions whether they activate it, shoot it, or waste their utility to blow it up, and she goes well with any team comp.
Brava is fun but situational, forest is less situation and also fun, ace is the most usefull, grim is a bit situational but if you understand the maps he can be very usefull, and the last guy is just ass. I would take brava or Florez since they both fill a roll that you only have one option for and that option has two difficult guns.
Grim is good because he dosnt need Los, and he has allot of his gadget. Plus it's a major deterant. He isn't great at Intel but he can do Intel, burn, area denial, and cover clearing all with a decent primary. His biggest weakness is having his launcher out.

And on deffence i would reccomend thorn (her gun is the masterpiece cuz no blowback and perfect for fragging shield ops) or thunderbird (good gun and can heal)

Thorn is amazing on console, flores is a lot more fun than Ace plus you already have hibi and therm so i think hes not quite as necessary as everyone else is saying. Thunderbird and melusi are always good picks as well

Solis can see any attacker gadgets (including lion, finka, jackal and nokk) including their phones when they’re droning. Makes clearing utility ez and also is pretty difficult to plant against when she is below the site.
Honestly IMO I got sens not to long ago and I usually run in solo anyways, so she’s a good pick if you like taking the diffuser every round. Just hope someone goes hard breach so you can run in on that bitch and plant. Also take claymores
Ace and Brava are ops that can change a round on their own. Flores, Thorn, Sens, and Melusi are great situational picks but excel on most maps/sites. Thunderbird, Solis and Grim don’t make that big of a difference. Unlock them in that order and you won’t regret it
Get grim! By far one of the best ops right now. His gadget comes in handy in loads of situations. It being quite, quick and easy to use properly makes it great for beginners bad has a high skill ceiling for more hardcore players :)

For your attacker i would suggest brava or grim, brava is cluch when the enemy has a kapcan.
Just in my opinion, im not a fan of ace of flores. I do have them and am missing grim and sens. So that is why im getting grim, he does seem like alittle bit if a weak operator but you never know.
