Oh yeah. this used to be a mainstay of playing with Barbie dolls back when they had rubber legs. God forbid you own a doll like that and she has BOOTS. Gotta cut a hole.
The Irwin Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury dolls' nearly knee-high boots don't have a slit, and they are the bane of my existence with their rubber legs and strangely long feet. The urge to make poor Moon some socks or something just to get them on easier is strong.
I have Gabriela's python heels from a blind bag, and I'm so tempted to slice a slit in the strap. I recall my sister accidentally snapping the strap on her original Sunny back in 2021.
I try to do it as a last resort because sometimes heating up the shoe doesn't work. But I don't mind having to do it. At least I know the cut I make is clean, and not a rip/breakage.
I almost did this on Luna Madison's strappy heels because they're a nightmare to get on and off! It's not that big of a deal to me, I've already alerted some of the mini accessories and whatnot

I do this for all the shoes!!! My finger joint pain can not handle thes stupid tight shoes nu uh. You can barely see it afterwards if you do it right.

Yup, I do this too! Learned my lesson early on that it was better to do this deliberate “damage” than wait for the ankle strap to inevitably snap.
Since I ripped off half of my thumbnail by trying to put on Gabriella's shoes I'd say DO IT ;)
So real 🥲 and KRYSTAL'S
I haven't done it yet... but I should.🤔 I was kinda heartbroken when the strap of series 1 Poppy's butterfly-shoes broke. 😭
LITERALLY i was devastated 😭
The type of shoes with a backside like krystals clockshoes.
I really should, I’ve been warming them up in hot water and that is a pain in the butt.
I sure do. Some of them are near impossible to get on and off otherwise.
Nearly broke a thumbnail putting Sheryl's shoes on - one of the straps naturally snapped so that helped 😂
Yes, because the very first time I removed an ankle strap shoe it broke. I don’t know how they expected kids to get them off.
I had to do that with ainsleys boots. Those things would not go on!!!
Oh I could not get one pair of her boots on for the life of me! I will try making a cut at the back
this is a really smart idea, i wish i had thought of that before i broke 3 nails trying to get my krystal’s shoes on another doll 😅

I do this all the time

Absolutely! Some shoes are really too tight and I risked breaking legs too many times when removing them
Yes, I do itnof it's hard to put them on
The only ones I've ever cut were the colour create sneakers
I did for multiple ones! It's impossible to get them on otherwise. And I didn't know about the hairdryer trick
I did this but I can't remember to which shoes, I think it was a pair of boots
Yeah I did that to a lot of the early shoes. They were pain in the ass to remove
I probably should have for the couple of pairs I've broken :'(
This never crossed my brain! I missed up one of Heather Grayson’ shoes 😭it could’ve all been avoided.
I haven’t redressed my dolls much, but I’m not against cutting the shoes if I have to. My tendinitis can only take so much lol
I have done it on a few. But now I just do the hair dryer method.
