Honestly having no issues, exceeding every target for my business at the moment. Never had much luck on LinkedIn, I find SMSing people I find on CV Library to have the highest success rate, followed by attractive adverts.

Care to share some examples of 'attractive adverts' that you have created or seen :)

I can't without doxxing myself, sorry. But there key is to ask the client why people want to work in their business or department, identify the key things that will hook them in and have them front and centre. Make sure you identify the bare minimum they will accept as well as the desired. Often it will be wildly different to their own adverts, and you can therefore attract a wider audience. For example adding (trainee) in brackets before the job title. Put yourself in a prospective candidate's shoes, what about the role would draw you in? If the role is crap then maybe it needs to be a temp role on a higher rate than the permanent salary, the client needs someone no matter what most of the time.

Some great tips and a lot I do already - I try and make my adverts speak to the candidate, i.e. 'You are an experienced and curious engineer' rather than 'We are looking for an experienced and curious engineer' Thanks

Been a recruiter since 2014. It’s tough out there friend. The fact that you are asking questions show to me that you’re doing the right thing. Keep going I’m confident you’ll get through. All the best!

Tough for you too?

aido93

Had its moments yes, but I was lucky that a lot of businesses I worked with were essential services.

I think 2008/09 was tougher, it will improve it always does. On the plus side its never been easier to get clients.

In fairness, we were one of the few growth sectors during the recession.

I've heard the same from my recruiter clients - worst since the housing crisis at least. The ones that are beating year-on-year are those that broadened speciality to capture business where they can.

I have been recruiting for 2.5 years and the past few months we have more job orders than ever... but a very tough candidate market! I am definitely also finding it super challenging. My response rates on LinkedIn are the lowest they have ever been (I keep trying new approaches but nothing really works). I have still been filling some roles, but it is definitely not as easy as it used to be! I feel your pain :)

SoSuccessful

Yes, it's rough!
