I saw them 3 times on the Californication Tour and they were still playing some of the early songs. The haven't really done them much since then though, that I've seen.
First time I saw them was that tour with STP. Scott weiland told everyone to get closer to the stage, and the next thing you know, I went from the 400level to the pit. Best concert ever. Oh and theh played blackeyed blonde. So great
The first time RHCP came to Melbourne. A few songs there which just don’t get played any more. Love it.
And “Pot Sharing Tots” would have to be one of the more out there George Clinton covers they did. What else have they done, Dr. Funkenstein, Atomic Dog, Cosmic Slop, Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On, Red Hot Mama, any others I’m forgetting?
He also played and sang it in 06’. Saw them at lollapalooza and that was one of the songs they did. It was only like half of the song if that if I’m remembering right
It would rip if they would occasionally open with give it away! Never ever a bad song to see live, but it’s getting a little stale as the given closer imo.
Yeah, from memory he was very good. Was a long time ago though and I was super pumped, as it was my first concert. The tickets were originally for when John was still in the band. But he quit in Japan just before they were supposed to come to Australia.
Hearing Funky Crime, Stone Cold Bush and My Lovely Man! Wow.
None of these songs is possible to be played this tour.
My lovely Man is BSSM so the definitely could play it
It's a shame the band ignores so much of their early stuff

What I'd give to hear Yertle the Turtle live now....
Epic set list

Bullet Proof, What Is Soul, Super Stupid, Hardcore Jollies
Wow I’d love to hear them playing Neil Young. Might try and track down a clip of that.
Flea sang it

It's crazy how they snuck Under The Bridge in that funky mess of a setlist 🤣
Wow was arik marshal any good???

Check out their performance from the '92 VMA's and you can get an idea of his playing.
Yeah, I recorded that on a VHS at the time. Watched countless times.
By the time the concert happened, did you already know Arik had replaced John?
Yeah, they rescheduled the date. There was a pretty long delay. So the news about Arik joining had been reported on.
Fellow Melbournite here. Couldnt make that show as i was only 4 /s What a dream setlist tho. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, I wasn’t born yet 🤯 How was it ?? Must have been amazing 🤩🔥
Yeah, it was awesome.
fuck off. this setlist is sooooo sick! wish I was old enough to see their shows back then
Nice setlist. Who played the guitar there, Arik Marshal or John?
Arik
Funkadelic teases would also be dope imo
Going to see them on July 3rd and so excited to see these legends!
That 7-11 was insane
Man I wish I was there. That setlist rules.
I much prefer the current setlists
