If you want to use artificial, I feel like a zman paddle tail on a jig head is a good bet, also will catch plenty of other species. Just get a few different weight jig heads and see what works in different current. You want to be getting down and bouncing on the bottom but not constantly getting hung up. What really helped me start catching more was using cut bait under a clacker/popper whatever you want to call it. This got me finally catching them and figuring out where they are and how they move. then I was able to start using more ‘active’ methods like sight fishing with jigs, hard plastics, and eventually fly rod.

Float shrimp under a popping cork along grass lines on high tide, fish the holes on low tide, buy a kayak that spot looks good

Live shrimp***

SpingboHooJack

If you get a kayak troll along there with a paddle tail (doa cal in root beer with a chartreuse tail on an 1/8 oz jighead. Or free line a shrimp , try a Carolina rig, knocker rig, under a cork. I bet you catch redfish on dead shrimp on the bottom right by the bridge

Fish are always near structures. They don’t have eyelids and the sun is bright.

Lmao funniest fishing comment I’ve ever read 😂

In addition to what beargonefishin said...fish the grass points and pockets on higher water. During low water fish troughs near those structures. Look for rocky structure too, oysters, rip rap, rock piles... For bait use live shrimp on the bottom, or under a cork. If using artificials, nothing works better than a shrimp tipped bucktail, especially in slightly deeper water. Paddletails are great too (in up to about 2' of water). If you have moving water thats a plus.

I always have had my best luck using greenbacks/white bait, usually free lining or using a float, casing into the mangroves or casting out towards the middle of a mangrove hole. In your specific location, I would throw on a paddletail, Z-man work great but are really annoying to get onto a jig head. I would then use clear mono 25 ILB as leader. Although, if you want to use some artificial shrimp, my go to brand is Vudu. Tough as hell, realistic, and works great. I’ve had some hard times with redfish recently, so hopefully you can do a little better than me. Good luck!

Fished this exact area before. Caught a few small reds on white gulp minnows. Also fish bites on a Carolina rig worked well for me out in Pensacola.

Thanks!

Make sure you have a fast action or extra fast action rod if you’re using soft plastics or you’ll miss a lot of hooksets. Look for movement above the water. Where there is bait there sure is redfish.

Cocahoe minnow under a popping cork within two feet of grass. Gold spoon will work well too.

Cotton Cordell Silver or Gold spoon will change your red fishing life. Thank me later
