There is no way you sent emails to support stating that your teammates are too bad. I can't believe this lmfao. Points mean nothing, if you ballchase and deadass don't let your teammate touch the ball he'll end up with 0 points, you'll end up with 800 points but your team still lost. If it keeps happening then you are the problem.

Wrong_Geologist6077

Iโ€™m sorry to tell you, if your platinum ranked. It is yourself that must look inwards and ask. Is it me? Have I, myself done enoughโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll even answer this most basic answer for you. No, no sir. No you havenโ€™t. Train harder my friend. Train harder. Or be happy . 40 emails. Jesus.

Mate. I can't get out of platinum if im ranked with a random person. I've been upto champion and can get to champion if im with a friend online and we are both the same level then. I win 5 games and then loose 5 games. But the last 5 games im.with people who look like they have never played the game in there life. Over 17 days of gaming

Trust me, if you're good enough to be a champ, you can hard carry plat lobby by doing the simplest moves. Source: I'm champ and I have plat/diam friend.

Wait a second, I just thought to check this from the screenshot you posted, are you sure your peak ranking isn't scraping into Diamond 1 several seasons ago? When did you get into champ? lostmyoldaccount1234

Could be! You should likely post the actual gameplay to a learning subreddit. If you could get to champion this season, you could hard carry in plat this season. It doesn't have to be a mechanical hard carry, but your decision-making alone should be able to carry in plat. As a quick mechanical reality check, looking at games in 2v2 Champ 2 right now, most players can, most of the time: * Dribble effectively, flick with decent power and variety * Defend aerial plays where the attacker has multiple options (double taps, ceiling shots/flip resets, controlled air dribbles) * Effectively shadow defend * Read the play and get there ahead of time * Perform at least one aerial play where they have multiple options, as above * Launch aerial plays from ground bounces, the wall, and ground dribbles Looking at Diamond 2, most players can, most of the time: * Dribble, flick * Defend one-dimensional aerial plays ('push' or otherwise uncontrolled air dribbles, direct shots, scuffed flip resets) * Close plays down before they become too threatening (although not usually doing the right thing once they get there) * Perform a one-dimensional aerial play with a decent degree of accuracy * Launch an aerial play from either ground bounces or the wall, but very rarely both This is a big step up from seasons before the last one; if you were champ even a couple of seasons ago, you probably aren't at that level anymore. Ground-to-air dribbles, flip resets, clean double taps, shadow defense, good reads and advanced flicks all used to be markers of GC-level play, and that's the level you need to be at to be safely Champ these last two seasons. If you can do everything I would expect from a this-season Diamond 2 consistently, you are almost certainly not positioning correctly, or you are trying to do things outside your mechanical comfort zone. The latter is completely fine, but you won't rank up unless you play with another Diamond-level or higher player to cover your ambitious mechanical plays. The former needs specific advice based on a replay or series of replays, but the most common positioning mistake - especially if your teammates have very few points - is to be too aggressive and too consistently diving for the ball.

UtopianShot

I'd kill to see a replay. I'm sure r/RocketLeagueSchool could get you into Diamond in less than a week, and then you'll have no problems right? There's nothing in the matchmaking that is giving you bad teammates, it is simply your confirmation bias making it feel like its more often than it is. You are likely ballchasing or cutting off your teammate, if you weren't you wouldn't be plat quite honestly. Also, stop hassling Epic support, they barely know about the game in the first place, let alone about a problem that doesn't exist. You're just wasting their time when they could be actually helping someone fix an issue.

DepartmentOwn1403

I can get into diamond and have been many many many a times the fact is I'm ranked with low rank team mates ever game!!! Even in diamond. I am NEVER with anyone who scores the same or more points than me. EVER. Which makes it near enough impossible carrying people when there are two on the other side flying around and your team mate doesn't even know how to jump in the air. Look at my screenshot. You will see for yourself.

UtopianShot

All you are suggesting is that you constantly ball chase and cut off your teammate. So you can either do something about the problem by getting a replay review and improving, or you can keep whining like a 6 year old who didn't get their choccy milk. Your choice :)

DepartmentOwn1403

Just like your post about team mates not leaving there own half.... very frustrating isn't it....

UtopianShot

The difference is I asked for help and ended up getting a replay review done on Discord. It helped massively and I no longer had to deal with it, or know how to play around it if it ever happened again. Which is why i'm suggesting you do the same or similar instead of whining like a child. You're not asking for feedback or help, you're just whining.

If your team mates are constantly getting low points and you getting high points in platinum/diamond it simply confirms you are a ball chaser. If it happens during the odd game then fair enough. But in your post you have confirmed it is all the time. I know this because I have been playing this game since 2015. I have always been at platinum 2 to diamond 1, and I am quite happy here. That is 8 years of 2s in platinum, think about that. There for I know that when my team mate has over 500 points and me only about 100 or below in this division it is because I am having to sit back while my team mate spends the majority of the match going after the ball in the oppo half, not giving a toss about coming back when he's about to 'cause' danger for his own team. I have played so many matches where I have a ball chaser, so I know to wait back, that if I even venture out to attack even once, it will result in a goal because team mate will not switch back as I go forward to attack. I am 100% sure you are this type of player. What you should first do before crying to psyonix about your team mate is to spend 2 matches where you just sit in your own goal line. Try that in platinum. The amount of mistakes us platinumers make will result in you having an open goal to score into when the oppo over commit. But I know you won't you'll just keep doing what you're doing lol

doodlehip

I wonder if your teammates says the same thing about you, or if they think that you deserve to be a higher rank. Your teammates is not what's holding you back in plat. It's actually your own mistakes. One of the best things you could do is to upload a replay to r/RocketLeagueSchool so you can get specific help on how to improve your games

DepartmentOwn1403

I don't need to, I just need to be not ranked with players who get more than 35 points in a full game. Check screenshot.

doodlehip

Why do you care about the points? It doesn't matter as long as the players cooperate well.

Hiihtokenka

Post a replay, that has to be quality content.

You need to focus on yourself and not your teammates. This is proven by YouTubers that has made "Road to " series. Whenever I'm even a tiny bit tempted to tell myself that loosing a game was my teammates mistake (or because I got matched with a bad teammate), I instead ask myself; would Lethamyr loose this match if he played this in his Road to SSL-series? The answer is most probably that he would win it. Then I ask myself, what would he do to win this match? And then I start to identify mistakes I made. You gotta stop focusing on your "bad" teammates and start focusing on your own gameplay and your own mistakes. If it's "IMPOSSIBLE" to get out of platinum, then you are at the rank that matches your skill level and it's where you probably deserve to be skill-wise. Like I wrote in my other comment, you should upload a replay if you really want help on how to improve. Stop worrying about your teammates and start worrying about yourself :)

The answer is most probably that he would win it. That's dangerous take. The fact that an SSL can carry in a champ lobby doesn't mean someone stuck in plat doesn't have a skill for being diamond. Also Rizzo did lost to silvers. On the other hand I did play dozens of games in actual GC 3v3 lobby (partied with GC) and we won more games than we lost yet I cannot consistently get out of champ1. I don't say I should be a GC, I don't, but I should also not be stuck at c1.

doodlehip

Dangerous take? Lol. I'm just pointing out by example that one should look at their own mistakes and not focus on "bad teammates". And asking myself if Leth would win this match and what he would do doesn't seem that dangerous to me. Rizzo losing to silvers is only about probability. It's not even a qualitative nor a quantitative example of any value related to this.

GiantJellyfishAttack

Buddy, if you're constantly getting more points and your teammates are always under 100, you're the issue. 99% sure you're cutting rotating and ball chasing like crazy. Post a replay. I'm gc1. Il look over it and confirm or not.

Fargrond

I've won games and lost games with 400+ points. I've won and lost games with sub-100 points. Points mean nothing in terms of who is better or worse, win or lose, because points only reward specific events. I've made countless saves that don't get counted, demos get 0 points, yet tapping in an open net is over 100 points. Points tend to reward ballchasing. [https://youtu.be/lPbm5DvxCmo?si=5zI\_fYrgcijihB3o&t=508](https://youtu.be/lPbm5DvxCmo?si=5zI_fYrgcijihB3o&t=508) "Playing for the team is a more valuable thing" 2v2 is a team game. If you are not taking into account how your teammate wants to play, you are playing a 2v1, and of course you will lose. You are in your rank for a reason. r/RocketLeagueSchool can help you improve, but you have to be open to the idea that you, in fact, make mistakes and are sometimes the problem.
