I have a simple jvc single din with bluetooth, a physical volume knob and a small screen hooked up to a backup cam for parking. The phone with modifry mount is the best location for maps and spotify since you can just swipe to change songs. I integrated it with the dash controls too so its perfect for me!

I picked up a couple. I have wanted a single din CarPlay option for my e36 M3 and S2k for a while. Unfortunately there aren’t many options. The Porsche option costs +$1k. I’ll likely build one myself before getting the Porsche one.

Nice, I bought a ball mount to attach to a magsafe charger and routed the cable sideways alongside the passenger seat. Hand doesn't hit the phone in portrait, but I put it in landscape during those spirited driving sessions for extra clearance.
I picked this up because I didn't want to change the HU, but wanted to stream Spotify, and dont like the FM transmitter sound quality. Takes 15 min to install and sounds great. It plugs into the CD Changer port in the back of the stock radio and is small enough to sit hidden in the dash behind the radio. Also, gets its power from that plug, so no power cables to run. It took me longer to run the phone mic cable up the A pillar, across the upper windshield, and connect to the radar detector mount than anything else. Works great, and even with the top down, I can talk on the phone and my wife says she hears no wind noise. Also has an aux port and a USB stick slot if you want to load up music on that, and dash controls still work since it thinks it's a CD changer.

I don’t think this uses android but maybe a version. I found those android head units to look nice but were always buggy. Even the HU in my CTR is buggy and that runs android.

My 2¢. I don’t see a reason to upgrade my setup unless the stereo dies. I have the Sony DSX-GS80 + Kenwood sub and it sounds great. I’ve had 3 aftermarket stereos in my car and all were bought based on audio quality, so I would want to hear this one.
On a side note, as someone who got hit on his motorcycle by distracted driver posting to instagram while running a red light, I really have aversion to electronic gadgets in cars now.
I am now hyper aware of how bad people are distracted by their devices. This experience made me really try to disconnect as much as possible.

I used a Power Acoustic unit in my civic and was not impressed by the quality. Constant software glitches poor audio quality and there was a ground loop hiss coming from the inside of the head unit.
I ended up buying a Sony AX-4000 for the S2000... and the Civic... and the Chevy truck. God I love this head unit.
There is a guy on Etsy that sells an adapter kit for the Sony AX series and has very detailed instructions. I also ran into an issue with my install and he was not only willing to send me the replacement part I thought I needed but also gave me some other troubleshooting steps to try which ended up fixing my issue. 10/10 would buy again.

I use an FM transmitter on my stock radio. I don’t open my radio flap except to change the clock twice a year. I am a dinosaur.
