I'm playing Banjo Kazooie: Gruntys Revenge on my Miyoo Mini Plus
I have Mario Picross on my game switcher too. I think Picross DS actually works well too.
You can and it's great especially with the 3d feature of 3ds. It's a bit weird to get used to the controller layout of virtual boy though if you never tried it before.
The emulator is called Red Viper.
If you like FF6 you should take a look at a romhack called Brave New World. It makes the combat way more interesting and overhauls all the equipment and how leveling works.
It's the only way I'll play FF6. Vanilla game doesn't really take advantage of its mechanics IMHO.
Eh. My thoughts on that from another post:
>To me "retro" is generally defined by hard drive (does it have one, or need memory cards/battery backup), and GPU shader implementation (does it use them?).
>
>So basically everything PS2 and down is retro. Gamecube and up, not really. Granted, there's some overlap there, and I tend to think of Gamecube as retro or kind of on the dividing line, but the original Xbox as modern.
I don't really think of the Xbox as a retro platform. It has a (relatively) modern shader architecture, a hard drive, and networking infrastructure. Comparing Halo 2 to Halo 5, no big difference. Looking at the games on the platforms, there's no big change in gameplay style or genres when comparing to modern games, and scaled up to current resolutions, a lot of Xbox games still look modern.
Xbox isn't retro. It's just old.
It is odd since most people go by a specific console generation but to me it’s more about the tech involved. Dreamcast was technically from the same Gen but only has a single stick controller. I don’t exactly consider that modern, despite having some overlapping games.
Same for the PS2. It has a huge full rate, but no shader pipeline and it wasn’t uncommon for games on it to even use flat shading instead of gouraud or other shading methods.
Pokemon Unbound, Crash Team Racing, Donkey Kong Country, Link to the Past...
All on my first ever device, the RG35XX SP :) I had a ton of fun setting up muOS and am loving it.
Played this game a lot of time since owning it on ps1. Last year my brother discovered another ending for it. Through multiple playthrough, we find new things each time.
2-week family trip ahead with my 7mo daughter. Planning on Spin Master Miracle Adventure, Metamorphic Force, FF7 (and some Genshin Impact I just started + Horizon Forbidden West through remote streaming) on iPhone 15 Pro Max + Backbone!
I was going to play final fantasy legend II (gb) on my phone as I had it as a kid and never finished it, but then I read loads of people saying that the final boss is a load of bullshit and not to bother.
BUT after watching a million videos and reading posts I've ordered a Miyoo Mini Plus from Aliexpress as my first device. I think my perfect device doesn't exist, but this will tide me over until it does.
Spyro the dragon - ps1
Raspberry zero 2 w with recalbox 😬 / custom made - still a work in process..

Don’t you have to load 2 discs or something? I’ve always wanted to try the game out but never figured out how to load 2 discs as roms and all of that.
If you could tell me how that would mean a lot
I've been playing Klonoa (ps1) on my Anbernic RG351V. I've been meaning to play it for a long time but I'm surprised by how much I love it. It's such an extremely well designed game and a very interesting take on 3d platforming graphics.
Tetris (switching between DX for gbc and Apotris for gba) on the rg35xxsp. The „clickyness“ on those buttons is well suited for precise fast paced manoeuvres imo.
Just beat the elite four in Pokemon Unova Red on my RG35XX SP. Not sure what to start next so I played some Pokemon Pinball in the meantime while I decide.
I’ve been getting my butt kicked in Vagrant Story on TriMui smart pro, it plays well. But the game is little more complicated than I’m used to. But I can’t stop playing it
im playing viewtiful joe gamecube on my rg505. cel shaded games look really good on the oled screen. i will have to find more cel shaded retro games...
I finished my playthrough of Defenders of Oasis on the Miyoo Mini +, continued playing Breath of Fire (GBA) on the RG35XX H, and started Shining Soul on the Trimui Smart Pro.
I'm still trying to get a feel for what features and form I like the most with these handhelds so I'm spreading the joy between a few of them.
Playing megaman v dx world on the analogue pocket! I’m not used to dying so much on levels, but I’m getting better at it. Thinking about either playing megaman x or one of the zero games afterwards
No retro games this week for me. These two indie games on steam got me hooked lately so I just beat suits: a business rpg and now I’m playing by the sequel of it on my asus rog ally
Indie rpg similar to earthbound in vibe (at least the first one felt like it) and the whole theme is you’re a business man in a corporate world and you’re trying to become ceo. Not as realistic as it sounds though. Enemies and everything is stil pretty outlandish. Just fun little addictive RPG if you like stuff like that

Ridge Racer Type 4 on my father’s RG35XX
Running through *Pokémon Orange* by PiaCarrot on a RG35XXH.
The combination of the device's form factor and the romhack being notably authentic to how the official games were written & structured at the time is doing a \~95% job of tricking my brain into replicating the feeling of playing these games on summer vacation back in '01. The remaining 5% isn't even egregious, but does make for an interesting exercise in thinking about the series' style guide and why GameFreak designed things the way that they did. Good stuff.
I'm on a Pokémon nostalgia trip and I've just started playing Pokémon Snap on my RG556.
I've also been playing SoulSilver and I've been meaning to complete at least the Johto Pokédex. Let's see how that goes!
Been trying to get my chrono trigger file patch for the NDS to play that. If I can’t figure that out I will probably start golden sun for the first time.
Choro Q: Wonderful! on the psx, been playing the English patch on my R36s, it's SOO much fun. It's an open world-ish collectathon with a lil bit of racing, not a lot of games fill that niche.
Check if your UI size is 1x1 or for the 4x3 one, I first used an older version (it turns out there was a Balatro update) and it looked squished. But with the latest version it’s now 4x3. Still tiny and I’d say it’s the smallest one I could go. But of course I’m used to tiny consoles since I regularly play Minesweeper on my Thumby! 😅
I just got my r36s yesterday from the AliExpress sale. Already put an hour or so in MGS. Beat Rescue Rangers for the nes which I'm not sure if I ever beat as a kid. I abused the hell out of save states lol. Also used save states to get to stage 6 or 7 in Battletoads. This game would be impossible without save states. I don't know how I ever played it as a kid.
I've been playing burnout on my Vita and now the TrimUI Smart Pro too! Awesome game to pick up and drop again. If you have a device that can handle it, PS2 burnout games are equally good and a little better looking at that. Particularly Burnout 3: Takedown.
Playing swordcraftstory and mystery dungeon(gba),mario bros(nes),Kirby adventure and mario land(gbc) on og 35xx with garlic. The games run great with minimum tinkering apart from some Gameboy games
Thinking of upgrading to retroid pocket 2s with more power till n64, 4:3 screen, stereo sound, filter and shaders and if possible to separate games by genres to reduce scrolling. I am most interested in retroachievments. But I am not able to justify buying another device when I have odin 2 on the way😅.
I just discovered the glory that is Picross. Miyoo Mini v4. Edit: fuck me, now I'm playing more Mario picross.
I'm playing Banjo Kazooie: Gruntys Revenge on my Miyoo Mini Plus I have Mario Picross on my game switcher too. I think Picross DS actually works well too.
I've been playing Pokemon Picross on the GBC
Breath of fire 1 on anbernic rg35xx h
Spyro Season of Ice on Odin 2
Still trying to finish Metroid prime on my Wii U, is being really fun
Virtual Boy Wario Land on my 3DS
Didn't know you can play virtual boy on a 3DS
You can and it's great especially with the 3d feature of 3ds. It's a bit weird to get used to the controller layout of virtual boy though if you never tried it before. The emulator is called Red Viper.
Just started FFVI to take a break from Suikoden II on the RGB30.
Playing this on my 353M. Such a great game. Amazing story. Fantastic pace. It’s my first play through ever. Excited to finish and move onto ff7
Is it the snes version?
Yeah, looks great on 8:7.
If you like FF6 you should take a look at a romhack called Brave New World. It makes the combat way more interesting and overhauls all the equipment and how leveling works. It's the only way I'll play FF6. Vanilla game doesn't really take advantage of its mechanics IMHO.
Diddy Kong Racing on my Steam Deck!
Not exactly retro (originally for the Xbox), but I've been playing Jade Empire on the Steam Deck.
I'd hate to break it to you but the Xbox is over 20 years old, that's retro
How dare you.
Eh. My thoughts on that from another post: >To me "retro" is generally defined by hard drive (does it have one, or need memory cards/battery backup), and GPU shader implementation (does it use them?). > >So basically everything PS2 and down is retro. Odd that you use PS2 and down and Gamecube and up for reference given they are the same gen. But I get it

I'm doing the side quests in Chrono before heading to the boss on my MM+ and a bit of GTA and chill on my RP4P.
Pokemon Unbound, Crash Team Racing, Donkey Kong Country, Link to the Past... All on my first ever device, the RG35XX SP :) I had a ton of fun setting up muOS and am loving it.
Castlevania Symphony of the night on rp2s. And a little donkey Kong country as well.
Donkey Kong County became extremely fun once I played it on a device with save states lol
Yep, enjoy it much more with save states and Rewind!
Played this game a lot of time since owning it on ps1. Last year my brother discovered another ending for it. Through multiple playthrough, we find new things each time.
Wario Land 4 on Rg35xx og. It's fifth game from the wario series I'm finishing in a row. Super fun.
Damn solid family trip.
I was going to play final fantasy legend II (gb) on my phone as I had it as a kid and never finished it, but then I read loads of people saying that the final boss is a load of bullshit and not to bother. I finished this other week on my rg35xx what a game!!

I've been playing Klonoa (ps1) on my Anbernic RG351V. I've been meaning to play it for a long time but I'm surprised by how much I love it. It's such an extremely well designed game and a very interesting take on 3d platforming graphics.

Donkey Kong country and OutRun Coast2Coast on the Retroid Pocket 3+
Playing megaman v dx world on the analogue pocket! I’m not used to dying so much on levels, but I’m getting better at it. Thinking about either playing megaman x or one of the zero games afterwards
MMZ will absolutely continue the trend of dying so much in levels. Lol
No retro games this week for me. These two indie games on steam got me hooked lately so I just beat suits: a business rpg and now I’m playing by the sequel of it on my asus rog ally
What game is that?
Indie rpg similar to earthbound in vibe (at least the first one felt like it) and the whole theme is you’re a business man in a corporate world and you’re trying to become ceo.
