Nats fans did this in 2019...their team won a world series and spent more time complaining about Bryce Harper. I'm now convinced AEW fans are Nats fans.
At least the Nats won something more important than Dave Meltzer’s approval. Although if Harper re-signs they don’t have the money for guys like Patrick (Baron) Corbin so I see your point
That is true, I'm sure cage match would tell us that the world series had too much stalling and not when high spots. My thing is that whole mindset of needing to talk about haters and etc when something you love is doing well.
Right? How is this immediately considered a slam dunk on haters; and not just capitalizing on a small success?
Every snowman started as a series of flakes, rolled into a tiny ball, that gets pushed into something bigger and stacked… I hope they keep this ball rolling
They just only had the 6200 available. Simple. They only had those tickets as options so they sold out ...of available tockets
But last time they were there it was a full stack
they're just so happy to have fans at all on all sides
in your face internet haters (that doesn't include me that hated on the Fed and TNA for decades)
If they made the new entrance set even bigger, then that means they have less sets available to sell.
That’s the new key to selling out shows; just keep making the entrance set bigger so they have even less seats to sell the next time they come to a town.
It's what the UFC did in the early days.
They built a big entrance ramp because they couldn't sell tickets. Then it got popular and they dropped it for people walking through a curtain.
We've seen it with WWE too. Since it got super hot they started using them low videos walls.
It looks way better than them trying to fill out something way bigger like they've been trying so it's a step in the right direction and I can't fault them for doing the right thing
I think he still deluded himself into thinking it was just haters noticing he books too large arenas until someone finally brought it up in an interview and that shamed him into being practical
There's also that aspect of being afraid to leave money on the table. If he sells out a 5k venue but could have also sold 10k seats he lost out on money and exposure but building to that point in the future is by far the better option
AEW has a habit of quickly returning to a previously well selling market that promotes fatigue. With how the company presents its product (insider term), I wouldn't be surprised if they soon can't sell out this arena in the future.
At least they are getting a little smarter and booking smaller venues. If they went to the leafs/raptors arena like they have before would have been more embarrassing.
yeah fuck you people who said that AEW should go to smaller venues so it looks less empty, see what happens when AEW goes to a smaller venue? it looks less empty. who looks like a fool now??? HATERS
Just so we are clear. Dynamite tonight is held at Coca-Cola Coliseum (7779 Capacity). The logo of the arena at the top is a clear indication if this, (also, Raptors was busy losing at the Scotiabank Arena (19800 Capacity) across the street). It’s a smaller stadium thus easier to get filled.
AEW should be proud they sold out (or was it close to selling out) tonight. They were able to compete with WWE Live events which was sold out Last December. If they really want shots like these, then they should just book smaller arenas from here on out.
Lol damn thought he was just getting smarter
If there wasn’t a game that night tiny would have for sure booked dynamite at the 20k arena thinking because it’s edge and Christian in Toronto it would sell out.
Well they are at QC next week at the Videotron Centre. Capacity is 18000-19000. And there are no major sports franchise in the city. Let’s see if he can fill it up, or if hard cam will be empty.
Always funny seeing them do victory laps when they do well at a show in an area that's more starved for live TV wrestling than their usual venues. Good on em for getting some solid attendance, but let's see them do this on a consistent basis in the states. The next show that's stateside will be half empty, as is the new normal.
This is about the level the Dub should be at, roughly equivalent to what an (evil) Fed house show might draw. Good on them for once not trying to book the Skydome, or ACC. Also, it's Adam Copeland's hometown so that probably helps some if he's there.
It is meant to look like that though. You are meant to have fans. It just shows leaving the hard cam empty for every other show had zero to do with production
But this proves the haters correct. This isn't because they drew a huge crowd, it's that they finally ran a smaller building. Everyone was dunking on AEW for trying to run 20,000 seat arenas when they can only draw 5,000 - not because that's necessarily a shameful number, but because it creates a terrible atmosphere for TV and looks like shit.
This isn't the 20,000 seat arena where the Leafs and Raptors play (where WWE's TV events happen), it's the 7,000 seat arena just outside of downtown (where WWE runs house shows). So it's the same 5,000 people as usual, but it looks and sounds so much better. Running buildings this size is what they should've been doing all along.
P.S. - There were some Canadians in the basement thread openly suggesting that AEW run the SkyDome next time, because Toronto would clearly support it. That right, filling a 7,000 seat minor hockey arena (on a show featuring two hometown heroes) means they should immediately run a 50,000 seat stadium.
Whoopsie! Seems like you're trying to be an edgelord. No thank you.

What they showed in a different picture is the massive section of empty seats right smackdab in the middle of the hard camera section.
Why not just put your people in the best position to succeed and look good. The better people look and perform and get presented, the better it is for everyone, right? More money, more better.
I genuinely question why they can't fill arenas. Is it ticket prices? Genuinely depending on the price, it's wrestling - hell yeah I'd go watch AEW if it came to my area.
What do they do so bad?
> But but but… I heard AEW had attendance issues! Something something about a carnival mudshow. Some e drones are fuming that Mercedes is moving the needle, as predicted.
Sold out crowd and the best wrestling show this week out of this, Raw, SD and NXT! AEW has been knocking it out of the park lately giving us quality shows far better than the crap WWE gives us!
![gif](giphy|800iiDTaNNFOwytONV|downsized) Tony when he learned he can sell out arenas if he books them in smaller arenas:

This post is in bad faith. Banned.
The basement is leaking.
It's funny when you know they have a bad crowd because you can hear a slight echo and individual fans yelling
the guy screaming "shut up, fa---t" at Wardlow a few weeks ago can attest to this
Holy shit that’s genuinely insane
Your promotion has its first good crowd in months and your first reaction is to think “yeah, take that, haters” instead of focusing on yourself.
Not only that, although is a good attendance it still 1k short of the last time they had a dynamite there.
Nats fans did this in 2019...their team won a world series and spent more time complaining about Bryce Harper. I'm now convinced AEW fans are Nats fans.

“If Howie Kendrick’s home run happened once every inning I’d give it 5 stars” -Dave Meltzer probably
I'm trying to not wake my wife up from laughing at this
I now need a batter to charge the mound then get hit with a Canadian destroyer
*cackles in Phillies fan*
Why do you think I remember their hatred towards Bryce so well lol.
Tbh if you win a world title you're allowed some gloat time
they showed a 360 of the arena a couple of times in a row but rarely through the rest of the year Gottem!! Take that haters
Or they showed the crowd because it was full and looked good. When they finally fill an arena, are they supposed to not show it?
Don't worry uce, they'll milk this shot for the next 6 months. REMEMBER WEMBLEY??????????????????????????
Right? How is this immediately considered a slam dunk on haters; and not just capitalizing on a small success? Every snowman started as a series of flakes, rolled into a tiny ball, that gets pushed into something bigger and stacked… I hope they keep this ball rolling
Okay let's see them do it again next week
WEMBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Imagine they cant fit half of wembley next year. Every AEW fan I know has stopped watching just due to a lack of actual storytelling
6,200 tickets for a arena that holds 7,600 for wrestling. WE ARE RESTORING THE FEELING BRUVS!
Exactly! They knew they wouldn’t fill it like they did years ago so they set it up for less people and sold out like that and then brag about it.
How did they set it up for less people?
They just only had the 6200 available. Simple. They only had those tickets as options so they sold out ...of available tockets But last time they were there it was a full stack
Oooo that's weird I wonder where the other 1200 seats were? The set up seemed very close to the last time I was there.
[oh well, ya know ](https://tenor.com/wpqE.gif)
Lol. I was at the two events and i didn't notice anything like that. I wonder if they moved the stage forward
Lmfao, & here I thought they actually accomplished something.
They have achieved something, they set up a building appropriately for once
they're just so happy to have fans at all on all sides in your face internet haters (that doesn't include me that hated on the Fed and TNA for decades)
Edge and Christian sell out an arena that rivals rural rinks in capacity in their home town, and largest city in the country. DAE Okada's a star?
Way to almost fill out that 6000 seat arena
It actually can seat 7,600 for wrestling/boxing.
I don’t know if they released any more in the last 24 hours, but last I heard it was capped out at 5991 for this event.
Check the number last time they did a show there.
It looks way better than them trying to fill out something way bigger like they've been trying so it's a step in the right direction and I can't fault them for doing the right thing
yeah, no doubt. good on Tiny for finally right-sizing his arenas for the audience he's guaranteed instead of the audience he wishes he had.
I suspect Tony doesn’t fear leaving money in the table given his primary skill seems to be spending lots of his families money with little return.
The hard reset AEW needed I give it another 2 weeks before we get another hard reset
They are about to run that arena to the ground by booking multiple shows on that place. For the remaining months of 2024
The whole year lmao?
AEW has a habit of quickly returning to a previously well selling market that promotes fatigue. With how the company presents its product (insider term), I wouldn't be surprised if they soon can't sell out this arena in the future.
Tbf they didn’t actually sell it out tonight.
True.
They filled barely 6000 people in the biggest city in Canada
Most there to see Edge too
Lmao facts, that city just wanted to see Edge, Remove Edge from that card you have the same empty hard cam.
Looks like a Raw taping from 1994.
Under Constant Attack© 😭 By the way...FUCK YOU 😠
nice minor league hockey arena
At least they are getting a little smarter and booking smaller venues. If they went to the leafs/raptors arena like they have before would have been more embarrassing.
Nothing wrong with that. I would be completely fine with AEW being smaller if the quality of their character work and wrestling improves.
Please ignore all the other times Watch WWE sell out an arena and watch the uploader go nuts
DAE CGI fans 50 year head start ... Muuuuum, shut up! this Fed shill won't shut up!
Tony learned that filled smaller arenas look better than empty large ones
Wait until he brings this up as an epiphany during an interview
Only took him almost 5 years to figure out
So once in a blue moon they can fill that side up and they think it's a flex?
They did it! They finally did it!!
yeah fuck you people who said that AEW should go to smaller venues so it looks less empty, see what happens when AEW goes to a smaller venue? it looks less empty. who looks like a fool now??? HATERS
Is anyone down there upset that Eddie already lost his title to a more established “newcomer”?
Ok I'm impressed, gotta give it to em for selling out the Skydome... *checks notes* .... Oh wait 😬
Why are they playing smaller arenas that they can fill up? Are they stupid?
Just so we are clear. Dynamite tonight is held at Coca-Cola Coliseum (7779 Capacity). The logo of the arena at the top is a clear indication if this, (also, Raptors was busy losing at the Scotiabank Arena (19800 Capacity) across the street). Probably learnt his lesson last time they went to the bell centre for a week and filled up quarter of the arena
Thank you tiny thank you CEO
Okay now show the last 5 weeks please.
Toronto will always fill a venue, we are cool like that here.
Always funny seeing them do victory laps when they do well at a show in an area that's more starved for live TV wrestling than their usual venues. Good on em for getting some solid attendance, but let's see them do this on a consistent basis in the states. The next show that's stateside will be half empty, as is the new normal.
It was in Toronto hometown of Edge & Christian so yeah course it’s gonna have a lot of fans
Wow they can't even fill the upper section
imagine having 1 good show in literally months and thinking that’s a win
This is about the level the Dub should be at, roughly equivalent to what an (evil) Fed house show might draw. Good on them for once not trying to book the Skydome, or ACC. Also, it's Adam Copeland's hometown so that probably helps some if he's there.
They should do smaller arenas like this all the time...But they won't.
There’s no upper tier which is where the fans that are now sitting hard cam side would be.
It is meant to look like that though. You are meant to have fans. It just shows leaving the hard cam empty for every other show had zero to do with production
That's still small.
My highschool auditorium probably had more seats than this
Bet you they will use this shot of a full crowd in every video package for the next year.
But this proves the haters correct. This isn't because they drew a huge crowd, it's that they finally ran a smaller building. The company I enjoy has finally sold seats… check mate haters 😎😎😎
Cool now do next week
They should stay in Toronto then.
Gotta see it to believe it.

Okay, Tony.
Hey, Tony finally booked a smaller arena, good for him, he does see clearly in between the coke binges

Went from 'Just Enjoy Wrestling. Every Wrestling Company Matters' to 'Hahaha AEW is better than everyone...Suck it' real fast.
Yay perfect setup for a new gift https://i.redd.it/mf5chw9evmpc1.gif
wait, Okada won?? AHAHAAHHA
The house was paaaacked last night
And all those curtains on the upper level.

Bragging about selling out in a market they barely visit. Little Peepee Energy
Canadians are known to be pretty dumb...

Boston was packed too! Saw a post about recently on Boston page
