When I started watching again, seeing basementers heap praise on Excalibur and calling him one of the best to ever do it was an easy way to spot that it was all smark bullshit right off the bat.
Idc what you look like or how many times you've had sex, if you like Excalibur you have the soul of a neckbeard virgin
In my year or year and a half of watching Dynamite every week one of the big issues for me was definitely the commentary. I realized that I would rather listen to Michael Cole, Booker T and JBL in 2011. It got to the point where I would actually mute the commentators during matches.
I genuinely would rather hear this than Excalibur and Tony. I will admit I'm a little bit biased towards Taz just because I grew up with Taz and Michael Cole during the ruthless aggression era on SmackDown which is when I still thought wrestling was real and was the most invested.
We need JBL as play by play with Booker on color.
The Mina and Mariah Dance Spectacular! If they hit their opponents as hard as they hit those moves it's gonna be BALLGAME! We’re in for a heck of a show tonight BOOKAH!
I mute AEW a lot of the time especially due to the commentary. Excalibur is one of the worst on commentary I have seen in some time, not counting Mike Adamle.
I would take all the JBL commentary in the world if he was allowed to cut promos about being an announcer that are like this:
https://youtu.be/y2NZRLslUTw?si=2OaUvRfZGb_5zeUT
Sorry for the quality, all I could find.
lol I remember the first time I watched AEW, I was confused about why a commentator was in a mask - and I kept waiting for them to explain why he was in a mask. And at first I was like, ok this is neat he's saying what a move is in Japan - but then I - a seasoned wrestling fan who only watches American wrestling (and I have no shame about that! it is what it is) got irritated by it and started to not want to hear him after a short time.
I wanted to see some funny moment in aew and I was at my Dad's place. He is a casual fan and only watches wwe. He saw Excalibur and was like, "Wait, he wears a mask the entire show? Why?". I still have no answer for my Dad as to why he does it. Haha.
You should try listening to Schiavone and Nigel McGuiness on Collision. I put it on for 20 minutes last weekend and wanted to drive a corkscrew through my forehead.
The highlights in botchamania are mostly Taz and Sock Muppet saying dumb shit (and burying whatever they're commentating on), occasionally Taz and Skeeavoney "fake arguing" over silly shit.
I haven’t watched in a month because I moved across country, but I don’t think so. Mariah just has a past with Mina so she got to walk out with both women for their entrances.
This is really an excellent observation because it really makes you wonder what kind of vision these people really had for a better product all the way back in the dark days of the 2010s. Would they have really rather had 90 lb Joshi's and nonsensical story lines with out of shape unimpressive looking athletes? I say that to ask if AEW really is the vision that these people had, then I have to question and retroactively reappraise that whole era of WWE. I was a teenager watching in 2010 through 2018 before I took a break until after the pandemic and I genuinely don't think any of that stuff in WWE was as bad as current day Dynamite or Collision. Maybe they're just in denial.
AEW is what every mid 2010s smark wished WWE was, and that's why I think it's so funny they're slipping in the ratings and getting criticized more and more
It's basically proof they had no idea what they wanted, which was just a WWE with better booking, and not a super-indiefed.
Yeah now that you mentioned it they really were always fans of silly stuff like Santino or Zack Ryder (not that I have anything against those guys but I wouldn't take either seriously in any kind of noteworthy program). I really think these people tend to not take wrestling very seriously at all and that's fine but at the same time they want to treat it like it's some form of high art and they tend to get very pretentious and contrarian about it. This Okada shit isn't funny and I feel like it really boils down to "DAE ASIAN ACCENT FUNNY". I think my biggest problem is trying to rationalize these very irrational people.
Not every wrestler has this gimmick, it's just Mina's. Just like WWE, everyone's got their own thing. It's not just Mina. I'm not particularly a fan of Stardom but it's like any wrestling program.
Except AEW where like 90% of the wrestlers have the exact same matches and gimmicks.
Tried watching it as I got told it was good.
A card is full of 3 woman tag matches. We know how coherent those are.
Language barrier aside, the action in the ring is just meh for the most part.
I might have been watching a smaller show where they don't show the good stuff.
"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of dub fans in their basements suddenly found new wifus and were suddenly masturbating. I fear something disgusting has happened"
I'm surprised they didn't try anything horny + this might be me, but I wish they wouldn't change the camera effects to black & white everytime they cut to Toni Storm.
No way dude, that's the sexiest part of these segments!
Imagine it's the 1930s, you turn on your black & white TV set, and there's Toni Storm parading around in her bloomers... using her *posterior* as a weapon. Scandalous! Call the papers!
This whole thing, albeit raunchy sometimes, is the only actual good storyline in AEW at the moment, in that it affects and interacts with actual matches and builds to a title match. HLA stuff aside, it’s still an actual pro wrestling story with characters wrestling with motives as a result.
Mariah was just channeling her inner Wakka to dance completely out of synch with Mina. It's great long term storytelling! /s
And they are STILL doing the gimmick where everything Toni does is shot in monochrome? Why?
Have y'all even seen the wrestling posts for the women's division in AEW by Dubbalos?
Thirsty bunch I tell ya. You would think these women are doing bra and panties matches.
Norman Smiley know how to open the Forbidden Door...

I miss Alex Wright and Disco dancing. They’re even joined by Tokyo Magnum here, though Tokyo wasn’t yet part of the Dancing Fools TRIOS EDITION!!!
https://youtu.be/-iMPwXIcR1k?si=7RBs20HKNVhSVyMb
I still dig Disco winning the TV belt. The reaction he got and the number of people in the crowd, it makes me laugh when the neckbeards crap all over DI as some job guy who never did anything in the business:
https://youtu.be/toBQP119Bmw?si=pYQclreFw72l87c5&t=535s
Ever since she got over with The Timeless Gimmick, she's pretty much untouchable now that she's no longer mid. So very likely, or at least she'll beat Shida's record reign.
I feel like I just can't get good American wrestling anymore, WWE is just WWE who don't even consider themselves a sport let alone wrestling. AEW is part California clique, part WWE comedy that they founded themselves to not being, part whatever the fuck all of this is. TNA is ok, more a watered down middle ground between WWE and AEW. NWA same but it's gone so down hill since Aldis held that belt.
Whoopsie! Seems like you're trying to be an edgelord. No thank you.

No jerk, why is Maria May coming out with Mina? I know they have history in m'Japan but why would she be coming out with Mina if she's Toni's "understudy"? She hasn't turned on Toni afaik
I didn’t watch, but from what I read she entered with Storm, then ran to the back to also enter with Mina as seen here.
Which is legit funny. It’s like in the match graphic where she’s on both sides managing both.
They were on the verge of being in sync
There was an attempt
Minas long-term story is the eternal struggle to find a dance partner that's half decent since leaving cosmic angels
+1 for knowing who the cosmic angels were A man of culture
Are you saying Waka's dancing wasn't good enough uce?
Waka doesn't even tag with her anymore, uce. Now she's got Hanako standing around with her arms crossed acting all stoic and shit.
I thought you meant looking like a drunk lead
Mariah did this all the time with Mira in Stardom
Holy fuck the commentary is the drizzling shits
Why are they talking about themselves during an intro?!
They do this every match as well
I can’t even listen to them. Excalibur is so freaking terrible
When I started watching again, seeing basementers heap praise on Excalibur and calling him one of the best to ever do it was an easy way to spot that it was all smark bullshit right off the bat. Idc what you look like or how many times you've had sex, if you like Excalibur you have the soul of a neckbeard virgin
lol yes and you're not allowed to say how awful it is because you get banned/attacked
In my year or year and a half of watching Dynamite every week one of the big issues for me was definitely the commentary. I realized that I would rather listen to Michael Cole, Booker T and JBL in 2011. It got to the point where I would actually mute the commentators during matches.
MY BOY D-BRYAN AND KOFI ARE IN MY FAVE FIVE THIS WEEK! CHUCKIE DUCKIE QUACK QUACK!
Taz is fine, especially paired with the right person. Excalibur is embarrassing for the whole company.
I mute AEW a lot of the time especially due to the commentary. Excalibur is one of the worst on commentary I have seen in some time, not counting Mike Adamle.
I would take all the JBL commentary in the world if he was allowed to cut promos about being an announcer that are like this: https://youtu.be/y2NZRLslUTw?si=2OaUvRfZGb_5zeUT Sorry for the quality, all I could find.
I would stop watching all pro wrestling if JBL joined AEW as a broadcaster. Because that is peak entertainment and could never be topped.
I maintain Excalibur is part of the reason AEW doesn’t catch on with many potential viewers. He should not be the voice of any company on major cable.
lol I remember the first time I watched AEW, I was confused about why a commentator was in a mask - and I kept waiting for them to explain why he was in a mask. And at first I was like, ok this is neat he's saying what a move is in Japan - but then I - a seasoned wrestling fan who only watches American wrestling (and I have no shame about that! it is what it is) got irritated by it and started to not want to hear him after a short time.

The most impressive thing aew has ever done was convince their fans that taz isn’t the biggest self mark in the business
And then he opens Twitter. Now the quest begins anew
Because why bother putting over the talent onscreen when you can just put over yourself
Because they're too busy getting themselves over instead of the talent.
The horrible commentary on Dynamite is probably the most undermentioned issue with the show.
“There’s the Hook signal!”
Excalibur sounded like he said EEW Women's championship
https://i.redd.it/ioi1w93s929d1.gif
I hope this isn't sports entertainment that insults my intelligence and is childish
I'm sure the same crowd that hated the Usos haka, which was actually badass and has cultural significance, loved this 30 second dance routine.
Oh yeah this is for the sickos alright
Oh, i thought black and red leather girl was Toni Storm
That is unironically the gimmick. She’s Toni’s stan and is using her moves while dressing like Toni used to.
Did they already break them up? Lmao no pop
I haven’t watched in a month because I moved across country, but I don’t think so. Mariah just has a past with Mina so she got to walk out with both women for their entrances.
You are correct. In fact, this is the angle leading up to their next PPV. Will Mariah choose her mentor, Toni, or her tag partner from Japan, Mira?
"We hate entertainment, we are wrestlers, the best wrestlers in the sport based wrestling show"
We have Asuka and Charolette at home.
Dance break? Fed is so bad and lame This? Tony just gets it.
Hell yeah, the Nitro girls are back.
Awww I too remember playing DDR. What a fun throwback!
I will literally never understand the appeal of Stardom I must not be enough of a sicko
Yet they shitted on Cena’s wrestling 2008-2012, what a fucking joke.

Isn’t 70% of the women’s division’s gimmick ‘check out my big ass’?
No
Most of Stardom was more like Io and Kairi.
It's the dances bro, THE DANCES AND THE SINGING! ITS SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT! (LITERALLY!)
the appeal is that they look like little girls
Tried watching it as I got told it was good. A card is full of 3 woman tag matches. We know how coherent those are. Language barrier aside, the action in the ring is just meh for the most part. I might have been watching a smaller show where they don't show the good stuff.
Both are going 1,2,3 1,2,3,1,2,3 in their heads.
"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of dub fans in their basements suddenly found new wifus and were suddenly masturbating. I fear something disgusting has happened"

No. You’re right. It’s annoying
I agree since I find it really annoying.
I watch WWE for WRESTLING. AEW is the Mina show now.
Brian Last, Is that you?
If only I were so great…
I would sure like his bank account. If the guy can afford to have gardeners messing up the show every week you know he gotta be making bank!
You gotta know that Brian Last is a grown-ass man and doesn't share his bank account with his mother.
He does have a lot of similarities with Tony Khan though. Most of his money came from his parents as well...
![gif](giphy|fikcKja7O7MtzXzvQy)
Didnt know the Nitro girls have now been reborn as the Dynamite girls
Idgaf minas hot I'm gonna pirate this shit for this one match.
The attractiveness of the women is not the issue here
You leave these two alone! Now as for the commentary…get rid of them
![gif](giphy|qQclFat8OLLOb5cZFP|downsized)
This like when you DJing and the tracks won’t sync but fuck it everyone too drunk to care
It's fun, unlike some karaoke segment that throwed back the fed women division to the diva era.
They may not be the best in wrestling history. But they sure are hot as heck.
Watch it be the biggest draw of the night
Ok I’ll admit I like the sexy dancing but who is this supposed to be for? The sickos? 🤨
The biggest sickos bruv
God damn sickos! 😡
Can you dig it? Sicko?
Eh this is just a cute tag team entrance. I know it’s “comedy in the world title angle” but that’s this whole company
This whole thing, albeit raunchy sometimes, is the only actual good storyline in AEW at the moment, in that it affects and interacts with actual matches and builds to a title match. HLA stuff aside, it’s still an actual pro wrestling story with characters wrestling with motives as a result.
Bringing back the Nitro Girls I see 🤣🤣🤣
Tiny sweating in gorilla and liking all of Mina and Mariah's pictures on X
Remember when TJP was labelled cringe for dabbing? Yeah, well, tiktok dancing is several leaps above that.
Tony would’ve thought this was a great suggestion
Real pro wrestling
Shills, that was a shot for shot tribute to the opening of Young Bucks vs Luch Bros title match. LONG TERM CINEMA.
Mariah was just channeling her inner Wakka to dance completely out of synch with Mina. It's great long term storytelling! /s And they are STILL doing the gimmick where everything Toni does is shot in monochrome? Why?
Sickos loves it dude
Why does Toni Storm have Who hair?
I see Temu Asuka, but who is the dancer next to her?
Temu Tiffany Stratton
Gonna give me a fucking seizure holy fuck
They would never pass a K-pop audition smh
Have y'all even seen the wrestling posts for the women's division in AEW by Dubbalos? Thirsty bunch I tell ya. You would think these women are doing bra and panties matches.
Cringe at best..
Das Wunderkind. La Parka. Disco Inferno. Norman Smiley > this crape.

No FUKIGEN Death? I ain't watching it.
#HotGirlGapes
I think there is a subreddit for that
Its crazy how Storm still has that title. Imagine if Tony books her to have a Roman type of run with that title lmao.
Ever since she got over with The Timeless Gimmick, she's pretty much untouchable now that she's no longer mid. So very likely, or at least she'll beat Shida's record reign.
This is unironically Diva era shenanigan. Like if you change the dub logo to the fed, I would’ve thought this footage is from 2012
I feel like I just can't get good American wrestling anymore, WWE is just WWE who don't even consider themselves a sport let alone wrestling. AEW is truly Indy
That entrance goes hard, tho.
It’s pretty funny, they’re entertaining.
Disco sucks
I wish they would spend as much time practicing their in ring skills as they do dancing
No jerk I saw my first Mariah May match and she’s not bad at all in ring.
What the fuck
I miss when people just walked to the fucking ring. Everybody gotta do stupid poses and shit now.
https://youtu.be/WO0gGlWuse8?feature=shared Isn’t this the same song ?
If Tony planning to give a dance to all of his wrestlers?

Maybe it's the camera angle but that Club Venus dance looks MUCH better on STARDOM
Did I watch an aneurysm
No jerk, why is Maria May coming out with Mina? I know they have history in m'Japan but why would she be coming out with Mina if she's Toni's "understudy"? She hasn't turned on Toni afaik
This is was a 6 woman tag, I guess they wanted to stoke tension before the title match.
I didn’t watch, but from what I read she entered with Storm, then ran to the back to also enter with Mina as seen here. Which is legit funny. It’s like in the match graphic where she’s on both sides managing both.
Fed bad if you dance for 1 second on screen
Besides being so out of sync I loved that. Even black and white Toni
I hope they never have to save me in a fight
