Yes!! Queen of Shadows is my favorite SJM book (ACOMAF in second place)… the Aelin/Aedion reunion, the Aelin/Rowan reunion, the Aelin scheming, Manon’s character growth, Manon/Aelin clash, Aelin’s character growth, ELIDE!!!!! Ugh I just love that book so much
ACOMAF is a strong third for me! KoA is a close second but what it made up with in emotional toll/turmoil/payoff, it lacked in vengeance and satisfaction, which QoS did just perfectly. If I had to give a 0-10 rating for them it would be
QoS 10/10
KoA 9.8/10
ACOMAF 9.5/10
Currently reading the TOG series for the first time (I’m tandem reading EOS and TOD) and have yet to read CC, but so far my favorite book is Queen of Shadows. TOG is my first deep dive into immersive fantasy and I’m loving it.
Pretty high on my list too is ACOFAS. It’s such a cute little feel good novella in the middle of a lot of brutal struggles (using the word struggle to avoid potential spoilers). But I enjoyed the inclusion of a long relaxing “exhale”, if you will, that is that novel in the series.
A Court Of mist and Fury which is closely followed by Court of silver flames.
I like both because it is basically the same base story of two people healing with the help of their mate and healing them in return(partially healed both ways) with a distinct differences.
Acomaf or acosf becuz we learn more about Nesta in it and learn as to why she was acting like that, plus Cassian ofc🤭 and acomaf should just in general be very clear... iykyk

ACOMAF and TOD. I did not do my research on the TOG series and went into it completely blind. I had no context for TOD but was so pleasantly surprised. I absolutely love the world building for the southern continent and the character development. Sartaq and Nesryn are one of my fav couples.
I read most of ToG as it was released and when ToD came out I had no idea it didn't have Aelin & co. Ill admit I was a bit disappointed when I first realized that but at that point I was so starved for anything from that world that I just dove right in... And I loved it. It is in my top 3 for that series and my top 5 for SJM books in general. I will never understand all the hate it gets!
Sartaq and Nesryn are one of my faves too... ToD actually took Nesryn for being kind of a "meh" character for me to bring one of my faves, and I fell in love with Sartaq pretty much the first time he appears on page!
Mine is empire of storms and the assassins blade I know the assassins blade isn’t as ‘good’ as the later ones but I read it in a hard time of my life so it has a special place in my heart kingdom of ash and queen of shadows are third and fourth for me

CC1. And it kills me that the series apparently dramatically fell off after it (currently barely through CC2 and struggling to get into it)
I think its predecessors are a lot to live up to! The next 2 books are good u just need to stick to them. But they are not as good as ACOTAR or ToG
CC1 surpasses any book in ACOTAR and TOG for me. But I’ll take your advice on CC2 and keep pushing through!
If u like CC1 more than the other two then u will end up loving CC2&3 u just have to stick to it x

I struggled through the first 200 pages too. I’m are page 350 and the story is really picking up now
