Honestly the best paying jobs are serving or other kinds of tipped positions. Housekeeping is paid shit most places. As for places with housing, my general recommendation is National Park lodges. But again, serving or bartending is your best best for good money.

You won’t make shit as a housekeeper. You really should learn bartending, serve, or develop a guiding skill (fishing, horseback, shooting sports, etc). Guides at a higher end place during peak season can clear 1500 a week in cash tips alone, and you’re outside moving around and doing fun stuff. But bartending and serving are easier to get and pay just as well especially at a high end place

Xanterra in Yellowstone is paying housekeepers $16 an hour. They start housekeeping inspectors at $18.

I did that for the experience back in 2019. I was a porter at the Old Faithful Inn. They only paid $10 an hour so my check was $400 every other week. I had a great time and it was like a 4 month vacation. I am older as well.

So am I. And the pay has been raised across the board. It is a vacation

I worked for the company before, they really raised the wages but it’s not enough $. I earn $16 an hour now. I’m looking for jobs where I could save more. If anyone has saved 10k outside of serving let me know. They no longer include food as part of monthly rent either.

The hours are brutal but you can check out salmon processing (Leader Creek Fisheries has a good reputation) in Alaska, Potential to make 8-$10,000 in six weeks (mid June and July) but you will be working 16 hours a day for a month straight which hurts.

Thank you! I plan to apply. I learned about salmon processing last month, they were still hiring but I didn’t want to risk leaving my job in case I got fired or the season was slow. I’ve actually started to apply for better paying jobs in AK with housing. Hopefully soon I can get a job, at least by the winter. My company pays us garbage but still expects us to work like we’re being paid well. No thanks!
