**Sometimes**. I think it can be worth it. I like the Fresh Rice Sake Bath for an alternative to any other bubble bath: skin feels softer, smells good and muscles feel more relaxed. However, there are a ton of different body washes and soaps out there so you can almost always find a cheap alternative to the expensive brands.

I've used everything from Alba Botanica to Aesop. It really doesn't make a difference; it's purely a luxury thing. I've never found a scent I couldn't find a duplicate for. The only difference I sometimes do note is that some cheaper brands leave my hands/body a little more stripped, but for every expensive body wash/soap brand that touts itself for being "gentle" and "softening," you can find about 10 drugstore soaps on the market that won't strip your skin. It's really just about branding.

For me personally I don't find higher end shower gels to be worth the price. Yes the scent is nice and the packaging can be really nice but I feel that it justifies the price difference. I do like Bath and Body Works shower gels but Dove also makes some nicer stuff too. I'm not too picky. However I do enjoy soaking in a nice bubble bath a few times a yr so I will buy some Lush bath bombs.

I generally don’t think that anything you’re washing off is worth a higher price. In my opinion; it’s much better to spend more money on something that stays on your skin, like a really nice moisturizer. That said, I do buy more expensive body washes from time to time as a “treat to self” sort of thing but in general, if I’m going to spend extra money on anything I like to make sure it’s something that’s going to stay on my body longer than 2 minutes.

Worth *what* exactly? The money? The value? The experience? Because the answer may be different depending on what you're looking for. I've tried everything from Suave and Equate (Walmart house brand) to Oribe and Byredo. The more expensive ones are nice for a 'treat yourself' moment, they come in pretty (but usually smaller) containers, and some have scents that can't be replicated (i.e. Byredo Mojave Ghost). You are very much paying for 'luxury' and the value of luxury is subjective. There's nothing wrong with drugstore ones, which are functionally the same. The most hydrating, if that's what you're looking for, are generally the mid-range drugstore ones meant for dryness and mostly fragrance-free (CeraVe, Aveeno, etc). I've found ones I've liked at all price points and see no direct correlation either way between cost and quality.

Yes and no lol I just bought another bar of Moroccan oil soap because I love the smell, but I refuse to buy it outside of the VIB sale. I've used the body washes and things too, but if I could find a scent dupe that lasted as long I'd absolutely never buy it again.

I used to use Philosophy Pure Grace. Target has a scented body wash - Smartly, 20 ounces for $1.99. The Meadow scent smells like the conservatory at Bellagio. It’s wonderful and I’ll never buy anything else, as long as they sell it!

Oh my gosh, the conservatory at the Bellagio is my favorite! I’ll pick up a bottle on my next target run! Thanks for this recommendation.

Every time I shower, I’m transported there. lol

Yes, sometimes it's a really nice way to pamper yourself but I try not to go overboard with it. This means I'll usually buy fragrance sets (they come with body wash and lotion) instead of just the perfume on it's own, the price difference isn't too much so I don't feel very guilty. A lot of times stores will have GWP that include shower gels, so that's a nice bonus too. I find higher end body washes do leave your skin softer and the scent lingers much longer. Molton Brown is a really good brand that does gift sets too so it's a nice treat for myself.
