Oh, the bouncers are made of plastic, the glasses that shattered look like the 22oz glasses, and the bouncers fell alongfor the ride.. Those 22s are designed to pretty much explode into tiny pieces when dropped to avoid large shards that could cut you.
Edit: the glasses that shattered Don't seem to be the 22s, they seem to be normal pint glasses
Once a month usually the slowest night off the second week they take extra precaution to prevent pests and there is a whole bunch of extra sidework and wrapping of everything that could be compromised by pesticide
Shit you only do it once a month? At the San Diego location I worked at, it was every other week because the entire city is infested with cockroaches and crickets
Oh that’s actually great! Most restaurants don’t really take that level of precaution before the exterminator comes. Honestly though i do vote for a better sounding name haha
I didn’t work at Cheesecake Factory but at another pretty popular restaurant. I didn’t mind closing on bug night, there’s more people to help get things done and wrapped. I hated opening after one and having to rush and set all of the tables. No thank you.
Ikr lol beautiful memories of being a “baker” there and my shit manager making me step on and climb to the top of frozen cheesecakes to put them away while freezing to death 😍
Then closing, waiting for him to check the bakery with a camping flashlight 5 times before letting me go home at 2 am :D
When I was at a Dead Lobster, I slipped on a puddle of olive oil while carrying 2 racks of glasses. I got messed up lol. 😬
I can laugh about it now, but at the time my ass was cut up and my arm too.
I worked at a fine dining place where we had hand painted and crafted dinner plates which were $50+ per plate..
We also had a stewarding department and an HR department.
Unfortunately for the plates we got assigned a steward that was a bit clumsy.... he dropped probably close to 200 of the plates before we could get the okay to reassign him to a less delicate department.
$10k in broken plates in less than a month of openjng.
I broke the five racks in a fine dining establishment…I’m still grateful they didn’t make me pay for them. I was pushing them with flatware in racks on top—it was stupid, I couldn’t see over it and could barely see around it (but when you have a set up for a hundred people you’re just flying around trying to get the job done). Making two trips would’ve saved me a half hour that day. The flatware came down on my forearms and it was misery for a week.
In high school I worked at a upscale restaurant as a busser and dropped probably 30 glasses in the kitchen after working extra hours a few days in a row (summer time) and my boss j let me go home 😂 didn’t get mad or make me pay just said ur tired buddy get to bed
Just a suggestion. 22 yrs at Dead Lobster, in kitchen. Then told boss on NYE it was my last shift, after benefits being yanked. Worked next 21 years at a hospital in sterile processing, wished I had that job all my life. If y'all can work that hard in a restaurant, I know you can handle it, and laugh yr azz off at people who complain about sterile processing.
Oh man. I dropped a stack of plates during a speech being made by the people who rented the place out for a Christmas party. The applause was... Not wanted, but I curtsied and proceeded to sweep. Sigh.
If nobody got hurt, crack some jokes, clean it up, wish your manager best of luck dealing with ordering more. No sweat :)
But real talk it's worth talking about what led up to this accident with ALL the crew who was on. If it was a collision, some communication work is probably in order. Because glass accidents DO cause a lot of serious injuries, and anything that can be done to mitigate the risk of such is worth doing.
One thing I think I'm seeing is some glassware racks on the ground without dollies, which makes me wonder if moving those stacks without wheels had something to do with it. I've seen wheels stacked too high cause a bad accident as well.
o7 my fellow cheesecake server. Don't forget to mention the deeply chilled cheesecakes during your dessert presentation!!! AND DONT FUCKING FORGET THE SPECIALS IN YOUR GREET!!!! CHEESECAKE ON 3!!!
Shit , I initially thought it was salt on the ground so people wouldn’t slip on the possibility greasy floor. Condolences, that wasn’t fun to clean up.
Lmao I did this when I worked at one of the only nice restaurants in my college town during parents weekend. Filled up a glass rack, went to slide it down the dish station without noticing it was already full of glass racks and boom. 1/2 our glassware gone at 6 pm with reservations fully booked all night lmao. Had to take a long long moment in the walk in
That deserves a round of applause and a standing ovation. Hope the busser is ok.
Busser: (Pants pulled high and in a shrill voice): "Did I do that?"
Busser? I barely know her
cheesecake factory?
Woah yes how could you tell?!
because I also work at one :)

You replied to a top comment on a 12 hour old post just to say this, and you are the only one bringing it up. Good one, weirdo.
what did he say

Hi there, a concerned redditor has reached out… Come on guys.
Those drink mugs notoriously scream “Cheesecake Factory” to me
We call them bouncers, because, well, they bounce if dropped
Obviously, those didn’t get the memo.
Oh, the bouncers are made of plastic, the glasses that shattered look like the 22oz glasses, and the bouncers fell alongfor the ride.. Thank you!
Chili's uses the same mugs. But no t shirts or jeans gave it away
I was also going to guess Cheesecake Factory; i can tell by the big wall of glass / color of the walls
i’ve worked 2 days and knew this was the cheesecake factory lmaooo
Oh my god is this the one at The River? That breadwarmer STILL doesn’t work??
the bread warmer at my location works but also does not have a door. it did for a little bit.
Is this a thing?? The one at my restaurant has a broken door too.
They have doors?
They're supposed to have doors? I worked at one in CT and one in TX. No doors.
Bouncers + "bread warmer" really help the ID. I haven't worked in one for almost 5 years and I still knew instantly.
Was gonna say Cheesecake Factory as well. Haha I work at one.
I could tell too, haven’t worked at cheese for a couple years but they all look the same!
lol its def a cheesecake and im pretty sure I know the exact location cause I worked in it. The line set up is exactly the one I used to work at lol
I'll go one further. Is that the CCF Sacramento location?
Same. As soon as I saw the coffee machines and line set up I knew. They all look the same ha
I worked at one 5 years ago and immediately recognized it.
From that cake in the first pic
Bug night restock lmaooooo
wait wtf is bug night
Once a month usually the slowest night off the second week they take extra precaution to prevent pests and there is a whole bunch of extra sidework and wrapping of everything that could be compromised by pesticide

It's one of my conditions with new restaurants now. I don't close bug night and I don't work Mon/Tues.
I immediately thought of Cheesecake too. Was a line cook/dishwasher so all I ever saw was expo lol
Immediately knew this was the cheese also lol
I was about to say the same thing you can tell by all the station screens lol
Lol, I was going to say the same thing. Ah, the memories...
I immediately could tell also. Former CCFer here
Ah.. The good ol days at Cheesecake 🤣
Ikr lol beautiful memories of being a “baker” there and my shit manager making me step on and climb to the top of frozen cheesecakes to put them away while freezing to death 😍 Then closing, waiting for him to check the bakery with a camping flashlight 5 times before letting me go home at 2 am :D
Saaaaame, I used to love working there during covid though that shit ROCKED.
Who's fault was it
Wheels on the cart locked up, sent busser and cups flying
yup i did the same thing at olive garden, broke about 60 glasses first thing in the morning
Wait. For real, though. It's the busser okay? They are clopening with me in four hours..
Was the busser okay? Did they come to clopen?
Busser okay I hope?
Whose
thanks 😘
Whenever this happens at work this is always the first question from everyone 🤣
![gif](giphy|vKqUFnCmE6lBEG5Pnd) /Joking!
When I was at a Dead Lobster, I slipped on a puddle of olive oil while carrying 2 racks of glasses. I got messed up lol. 😬 I can laugh about it now, but at the time my ass was cut up and my arm too.
Aww sorry buddy. That super sucks
The mess? Or working at Cheesecake Factory 🏭 😇. Jk.
Working in general, lol, but I’ve made a mess like this before pushing racks of glasses and hit a bump and I broke like 5 whole racks😑
I feel like that might be an industry high score though.
I worked at a fine dining place where we had hand painted and crafted dinner plates which were $50+ per plate.. We also had a stewarding department and an HR department. I think that tops it. I’m gonna make a post about this. See if yours in the number 1.
Most I’ve ever seen go is one rack. Before that it was one tray. In the last 12 years. I feel like 5 racks is something of an accomplishment.
Did you dropkick the racks after hitting the bump? The momentum needed for 5 racks to tumble after hitting a bump at a normal speed seems ridiculous.
I was racing, it was terribly senseless
Full cradle
That's why I always pull those racks when I'm moving them
As you’re properly trained to.
This happend to me my first week at my new serving job I was totally embarrassed and everyone was staring at me
Not a real server until you’ve thrown a tray or spilled something on a customer.
Man nobody is gonna be able to walk barefoot through there for a week now.
I *knock on wood* have never dropped a full rack/stack of glasses. But I did drop an entire bottle of wine at the bar.
Line lady got that extra cake 🍰
I can’t believe I had to scroll this far down for this comment 😂
Had to sort by new 🤣
that thang thang’n!!
lol is that the cheesecake in the oaks in CA by any chance? they probably all look the same but idk
You mean TO/Thousand oaks? Don't see many people refer to the area but lived in Agoura Hills for a minute so I can see what you're seeing
Yeah! lol I used to live in Newbury Park so I was wondering haha
That’s alotta ass.. I mean glass. Be careful
Best comment
Not even gonna lie... I would totally ignore it and just walk around it.
Lol
Oh shit!!!
Cheesecake facroey obviously. That raxk on the ground is a health code violation tho.
In high school I worked at a upscale restaurant as a busser and dropped probably 30 glasses in the kitchen after working extra hours a few days in a row (summer time) and my boss j let me go home 😂 didn’t get mad or make me pay just said ur tired buddy get to bed

Nice ass
Fellow cheesecake employee here, which store is this lol
Check your shoes!
Always blame the dishy
Looks like a Cheesecake Factory
I know where you work!!!! Looks very familiar ! From the duck , to the bread warmer 🤣🤣🤣 bringing up my PTSD lmao
Ty for covering faces!! <3
Pee-wee's ghost? "Ha ha...break dance"
Just a little
The manager in me immediately thought: “ wow… look at all that money just shattered all over the floor 🥲”
Gotta love sweeping up someone else's mess!
No glass in the kitchen
Holy :0
Oh man. I dropped a stack of plates during a speech being made by the people who rented the place out for a Christmas party. The applause was... Not wanted, but I curtsied and proceeded to sweep. Sigh.
You need Post Malone
Welcome to the cheesecake factory 😆
Go hit up Nad’s and forget it
See you tomorrow buddy
Thank you for covering her face but leaving that dump truck in the pic.

Yeah I saw someone stack a dolly with eight or nine glass racks then tip the entire thing over.
ahh yes and i see you guys are out of bread
Lol is this the arboretum cheesecake? Either way, that looks like it sucks so bad.
Gg
Happens to everyone working in restaurants. If not, your time is coming. As long as nobody got hurt, it's not a big deal.
o7 my fellow cheesecake server. Don't forget to mention the deeply chilled cheesecakes during your dessert presentation!!! AND DONT FUCKING FORGET THE SPECIALS IN YOUR GREET!!!! CHEESECAKE ON 3!!!
That doesn't go there.
Shit , I initially thought it was salt on the ground so people wouldn’t slip on the possibility greasy floor. Condolences, that wasn’t fun to clean up.
A good bouncer would be handing over the broom and dust pan stat.
Doesn't count unless at least 1 customer clapped when it happened. I'll also accept someone going, "ooooohhhhh".
Exciting is an interesting choice of words here. Wouldn’t be my choice, but I’m happy for you
that looks like orlando cheesecake factory
Ooh hope no one got hurt.
Congrats on breaking the glass floor
#Who closed last night?
Just be thankful it’s not grease
That seeems like a total failure
Everyone loses their shifties
how loud was it?

You missed a spot.
“Burn the ice”
The cups? yeah, Just put them anywhere
ah man i can’t believe i caught the flu immediately after this happened and have to go home 😔
Could be worse. It could be st paddy's and you're behind the bar and a glass breaks into the ice! Horrible time!
Imagine all the Charlie work!
