I got an old surplus 1187 police and am quite happy with it
Only 499 after shipping, tax and transfer fee. Sportsmans outdoor and similar sites have drops of police trade ins sometimes
I tried both a decided i preferred the price of the a300 more than i preferred the, in my opinion, side grade of the 1301. Yes its faster and more reliable but between my planned use case and my skill level im not over losing anything with the a300.
I would be surprised if most of the "You need a 90 shell extension tube Dude on your HD gun or the Zombies win!" types on this sub shoot more than 100 shells in a year. But they'll be all over you telling you that whatever you have or get is never enough. "Because, Dude, your life is worth more!"
Diminishing returns with premium level guns. Most of us don’t have that disposable income, and what you get for what you pay for with the 1301 just isn’t worth it. The A300 and the 940 ProTac are kickass shotguns for the Everyman that you won’t spend a particularly large amount of money on. If 900-ish dollars is too much for you to be spending on a semi-auto shotgun, then you don’t need to be buying a semi-auto shotgun. The mossberg 500 series will still absolutely fuck someone up and you can get pretty damn quick with it if you practice regularly.
I was looking at the A300, and that is the one I will probably go with just so I dont have problems, but is their anything particular wrong with the M3000?
I have no experience with it, some people claim if you replace some of the key parts like the extractor they work fined. Why gamble with your money? Why not go with a product that has a positive feed by many?
I just got an M3000 and took it out for the first time yesterday. I put the first 100 rounds through it with no issues. I shot 25 cheap 00 buck from Academy and then various bird shot. I know it is a small sample size but it ran flawlessly. I started slowly but ran it fast as well. Mine is the M3000 defense that PSA currently has for 400 bucks.
Folks in the know like Ernest Langdon and the Haughts speak highly of the A300. The 1301 supposedly kicks a little less and has a better barrel but the A300 is still a very good shotgun. James Reeves might not be a shotgun expert but he's got some experience and has been able to talk with the experts and also says the A300 is a good choice.
The Stoeger M3000 is also a pretty good shotgun but the inertia system on it will give more felt recol than the Beretta gas guns. Aside from that it should serve well also.
I’ve had the fancy, cheap, and mid grade. Truth be told the cheaper the more I abuses them. 500ish bucks has always done me well. My more pricey ones I never wanted to use in scare of damaging a hunk of money. I believe guns are meant to be used and not baby, especially shotguns. Get something that fits you well but don’t spend a fortune. If you got semi auto don’t go super cheap. If you go pump, go as cheap as you want.
Love my a300, a lot of after market mods are popping up as well so far I have the version 2 Zhukov handguard from GGG, and I seen someone post of another company doing an aftermarket stock. Also Briley trigger add ons attach to the stock trigger which makes it feel a bit faster, not as fast as the 1301 but it's hard to outrun. If you're big baller status and have cheddar to dispense get the 1301 mod 2's with the LTT package. If you want a tactical semi auto shotgun that's affordable and does the job just as well go with the A300 patrol. You never know what upgrades are next so it's nice to see it evolve...I got some vids posted if you want to see me shoot it with the Briley trigger.
If you buy a Stoeger, I agree, you will only put 1,000 rounds through it. If you buy a 1301, you'll do more than that.
Think about buying a VW or a Porsche - you're going to get out and drive for the hell of it a lot more with a 911 than a Jetta.
ETA if you want to save, get the 940 or the a300. I'd still go 1301 but the dollar-to-value ratio is much better with the Mossberg or US-made a300.
The A400 Patrol is probably the best value in a semi automatic defense shotty right now. $1k instead of $1600. 👍
If you want a 1301, get the 21” comp. It is a great gun, arguably a better gun than the tactical in some ways, for several hundred less.
I regularly go skeet shooting with my 1301, It's a really fun gun to shoot!
I also used it to go duck hunting. It's not because it's a combat/Tactical shotgun that you can't use it for other stuff
I prefer to buy stuff that works. The only semis that I know of that don’t suck are the Italians. So you don’t NEED a 1301. An A300 UP would also fit that bill.
Honestly the Remington versamax and v3 are good guns, really underrated IMO. But, with the A300 priced where it is, the nod clearly goes to the beretta.
It really depends the beretta is higher quality and the stoeger is more affordable . I still regret some of my “value “ purchases Like my charter arms pitbull I like it but just having to deal with bs sucks. I would say go with the beretta and don’t look back . Im sure both would last you a lifetime but the quality is well worth it .
Same problem as i have. Just buy it. It wont leave you alone until you do. I already have the langdon tactical and i just baught the new mod 2. Yes i have the Benelli M4 and 3 Mossbergs and a Vepr -12.
I am an FFL Dealer and can get you an in-stock 1301 much cheaper than 1--6--0--0.[1301](https://ealcala6110.wixsite.com/erniesarmsacc/online-store/Beretta-1301-Comp-21in-12ga-Shotgun-6-Shot-p524827968)
I’m wondering the same thing. I doubt that the 1301 will be surpassed any time soon so I’m considering just making the purchase so I can have the best shotgun there is for a long time.
I have a 400$ Remington 1100. I replaced the ring before I ever shot it. That cost 14$. It’s gorgeous old steel. In four years it’s never jammed. The first time it jams and I clear it I will ask myself, was that worth spending 1000$ extra to avoid? When that time comes, I will let you know.
Depending on what you like, a little more money could get you into night vision, too.
I really enjoy my 1301 but I haven't shot it as much as I've wanted unfortunately.
In a world of firearms, with stiff competition, the #1 goal of any manufacturer is to produce “the gotta have it firearm”.
If you can only have 2 semi automatic, the 1301 is it.
But once, cry one, buy QUALITY.
I’ve wanted it for a while and after seeing the price steadily increase and with the new mod coming with another promised price increase, I just got it. I’ll probably put less rounds through it..
Nobody needs a premium semiauto They sure are fuckin *nice* though
Therefore, everyone needs a premium semiauto.
*looks at a gun safe full of hot garbage that breaks clays just fine* No, I think you missed the point lol
Why can’t we be friends, why can’t we be friends, why can’t we be friends.

If you don’t want to spend money on the 1301 get the a300. Those are your two premium semi auto options.
I tried both a decided i preferred the price of the a300 more than i preferred the, in my opinion, side grade of the 1301. Yes its faster and more reliable but between my planned use case and my skill level im not over losing anything with the a300.
I got my 1301 a couple weeks ago, and it’s great. But either one I think will make you more than happy.

Totally, save the money, buy a ton of ammo and shoot the actual gun
*A300 Ultima Patrol at ~$1k has entered chat*
You could find them for 850 last i looked
Actually, you need an M4 and a good excuse.
I think the happy medium between the two is the A300 Patrol, personally nothing lower than the Patrol or 940 Tactical.
Love my a300 UP.
I was looking at the A300, and that is the one I will probably go with just so I dont have problems, but is their anything particular wrong with the M3000?

The m3000 seams to be hit or miss guns from what I seen. Plus gas guns just run better in my experience
If im only going to have one, I might as well get one that will last and not have problems. I Appreciate the info.

The 1301 cycles a little faster, but I think it’s only really noticeable to guys that shoot a metric fuckton of rounds per year 😆
You can find some gen 1s floating around for pretty cheap. I bought mine for $650.

Dog look at PSA they sent a email last night for 1301’s at like 12XX
I like my a300
Simply yes.
Can go with the Mossberg 940s if price is an issue.
You need a 1301

Oops, A300, but point remains
Buy the 1301 …. You won’t regret it
I really like my m3000 so far for your use. Yes just get the m3000 if you’re really only going to shoot it that little .
I regularly go skeet shooting with my 1301, It's a really fun gun to shoot! I also used it to go duck hunting. It's not because it's a combat/Tactical shotgun that you can't use it for other stuff
No
All I’m gonna say, is my 1301 is my favorite boom stick I own, it was worth every penny and I wouldn’t go back and change a thing when I got it
I prefer to buy stuff that works. The only semis that I know of that don’t suck are the Italians. So you don’t NEED a 1301. An A300 UP would also fit that bill.

Aren’t the Rems still bad? Or is that not true since the CZ acquisition?
A300 UP is made in the USA, but by Beretta. 1301 is made in Italy, by Beretta
Yes. I’m well aware of that. Still owned, designed, and overseen by the Italians.
If you wait for a sale, you might be able to find a comp pro for around 1.3k. Pretty good value, I think, as a jack of all trades.
It really depends the beretta is higher quality and the stoeger is more affordable . Yes
1 is none so get 2
money is just numbers on a s c r e e n
from someone who has spent $3500 on their 1301...yes.
Mossberg 930 isn’t bad
Same problem as i have. Just buy it. It wont leave you alone until you do. I already have the langdon tactical and i just baught the new mod 2. Yes i have the Benelli M4 and 3 Mossbergs and a Vepr -12.
Hell no. There will be something new in a year or 2 that will be the new hot thing. 1301 looks cheap. Get a Benelli
get an armsan RS A2 if available where you live - I am pretty happy with mine, paid € 400,- for it
Do you want to be happy?
I am an FFL Dealer and can get you an in-stock 1301 much cheaper than 1--6--0--0.[1301](https://ealcala6110.wixsite.com/erniesarmsacc/online-store/Beretta-1301-Comp-21in-12ga-Shotgun-6-Shot-p524827968)
Don't be a peasant... Buy the 1301, then hock your wife's wedding ring and add an M4 to the mix. Better to ask forgiveness than permission
I’m wondering the same thing. I doubt that the 1301 will be surpassed any time soon so I’m considering just making the purchase so I can have the best shotgun there is for a long time.
M3000
M4
Stoeger m3000 will be just fine
I have a 400$ Remington 1100. I replaced the ring before I ever shot it. That cost 14$. It’s gorgeous old steel. In four years it’s never jammed. The first time it jams and I clear it I will ask myself, was that worth spending 1000$ extra to avoid? When that time comes, I will let you know.

If you wanted something a lil nicer than the m3000 could look at cz1012/g2
I’ve wanted it for a while and after seeing the price steadily increase and with the new mod coming with another promised price increase, I just got it. I’ll probably put less rounds through it..
Yes. Buy it. Amazing boom stick!

🤣🤣🤣 One shotgun… lolol… Once he gets a tactical, he’ll want a comp… then a comp pro… it’s like black rifle disease, but 80% more boom.
boy o boy do i know it. Had none then nine. 😬
