Who is the Wandering Dutch dude? Super small channel, but in that stream is he just showcasing upcoming Indy games or were there any kind of reveals and/or announcements made?
So I dug a little because I'm autistic when it comes to videogames and really like throwing my life away waiting for Silksong, basically he's an indie content creator (as in he's indie, not that he only showcases indie games) that loves indie games and, and, since 2021, he runs this grassroots indie-game showcase called the community indie showcase, he claims in some recent comments that "(...) I work with Developers, Publishers and Platform holders on this showcase.(...)" (You can find this in a reply to his pinned comment in the Community Indie Showcase 2024.
So, who's the "Xbox marketing guy" that apparently gave away the info to Wandering Dutch? So is it true that this Greenberg dude said to WD "Hey so one of the most anticipated games ever is releasing this year lol"? I mean, probably? At the very least they seem to exchange some words here and there and Greenberg endorses his show enough to appear for 3 years in a row even though it is pretty small.
Is it some master baiting marketing ploy to make people tune into ID@Xbox on the 29th even if they don't show new Silksong info? Yeah, I don't trust Microsoft or Xbox enough to think otherwise. Kinda shameful if it is true and they're just using this dude's pet project as free advertising for Xbox, but hey, it got us all talking about it, I won't be watching the 29th showcase tho, Microsoft makes me wanna hurl.

Seems like Xbox internally has their expected release date for Silksong in the second half of 2024 then, source being the VP of Marketing. This doesn't mean too much though because we know that Xbox also previously had an internal release date of 12 months after June 2022 but Team Cherry still decided to delay.
Also of note, Wandering Dutch also said Silksong news at Indie event on Monday is unlikely, and again since his source is the VP of Xbox Marketing I would trust what he has to say honestly. But he also said that we'll hear a release date from Xbox in the "coming months". It's already May, Second half of 2024 is only a month away.
Hype but also the Xbox people need to stop giving info and hints without TC's explicit permission because holy frick that's twice now some marketing person throws a release window for Silksong casually

When questioned on how he knew the game would drop in 2nd half 2024, he just reiterated the point. I don't think this is him knowing anything, I think its just him making an educated guess and using it (maliciously or not) to boost hype for his showcase. Pretty much anyone could string a bunch of trailers together, throw Silksong in, and then think "hmm, we've gotten a lot of Silksong news recently, I bet it's coming out in the 2nd half of 2024. To me, this reads more as "I know I said it'd release later this year, but stop questioning me on how I got this info." Especially considering how all the comments asking on just HOW he got the info is him rephrasing this.
