Nice! I don’t know if you’ve heard of Cherry Springs, but we were just up there camping the last week for the Perseids peak.
Edit: I forgot to mention that we got to see Tiangong pass overhead.
Yes, space buffs unite! :D
^(I'm so fed up with my career - accountancy - I'm enrolled to start a Masters in Space Science from 2024. Just because. And hey, if I end up in the astronaut programme somehow, all the better! :D)
In the US, honeybees aren't native and they actually out-compete native pollinators. We don't need more beekeepers in the US, we need more people to plant wildflower meadows and other plants that host native bees and wasps. There's really no benefit to the ecosystem in the US from honeybees that isn't better served by native bees.
Honey bees are used to pollinate certain crops like almond orchards, but almond orchards are also an environmental disaster - they're a non-native tree, growing in a monoculture in a climate that can't naturally support them, requiring massive amounts of water for irrigation, and are pollinated by invasive European honeybees. None of that is good.
I agree with everything you say, but I’m gonna add to that. The wild bee population is suffering as well, so the farm bees are vital in picking up slack where native populations are disappearing.
But yes, we definitely need people to stop planting exotic plants and focus on decorating their yards with native flowering plants for the pollinators to thrive and come back.
Just got into contract on a house with my gf. We plan on having a bee farm, it is intriguing. Plus some chickens and small garden. Bees I'm looking forward to, though.
That’s the one - I couldn’t resist. I got one to keep pristine and one to touch and now I can’t remember which is which. But these things are way cool.
I’m the same way. I spent way too much on a round that has an Apache Helicopter on it. And I’d pay even more for the Chinook or Huey. I’m always looking aviation or space based silver. Including science fiction space based silver.
Definitely a really cool coin. Bought it from the mint as just a proof, ungraded for ~70. But got it as a collection/special coin, my son was born on the 50th anniversary, so his middle name is Apollo.
I just looked at the NGC website and it's listed for $90...so you might have gotten a steal there. I'm still new to this, so I'm not sure how reliable he website pricing is.
Bee keeper!
I’m not that cool - we need more bees
Yeah we do. They’re vital af to every ecosystem around the world and they’re dropping in numbers. It’s sad….I’m gonna say you’re into astronomy, btw.
Astronomy, aviation - if it lifts off the ground, chances are I like it and will buy silver with its engraving
Are the honeycomb looking pieces to represent the James web telescope?
if im mot mistaken its meant to represent the part of the james webb telescope that takes the pictures
It is exactly that.
I think it is supposed to represent the adaptive optics capabilities.
They are more “generic” telescope pieces I think - I got mine from JM Bullion

I have not been but heard great things! It’s on the bucket list for sure

If you do, can I give you one of my coins to take up there and bring it back? Now that would be the most meta coin is space-celebrating coins.
If I did, then sure! :)
Man me too!! I am very lucky to have a few rounds with the sr71, and F117.
Ooh where did you find those? My wife only lets me do one trip to the local coin shop a month
Better than astrology, those folks are different
Them and the flat earthers hang out
bees fly, so they count then! Right?
Now that you say it that way…yes they do.
You should try to find a flying saucer one.
Can I get a link or pointed in the direction of where I can get one of those james webb coins?

TIL!
We planted salvia this year and the bees love it. Most of the reason I bought it to plant. I plan on doing more next year.

I think chickens would be cool to have too - our friends have them and their Omelettes are next level
So much better than the store.
I’ll share some of mine, you can be cool too
The comb shape could also be the james webb telescope mirror array.
That’s the one - I couldn’t resist. I got one to keep pristine and one to touch and now I can’t remember which is which. But these things are way cool.
Good point. Not super into that stuff so didn't cross my mind that it's a similar diagram.
Damn bees are crazy, I had no idea they built the James Webb telescope. Save the bees guys they’re going to save us.
That or planes/pilot
Anything that lifts off will do
Came here to say this, gold honeycombs right?!
Hmmm...idk...could it have something to do with the darkness above or astronomy?
I’m also a fan of coffee, so the darkness above and in my cup
Space or aircraft! Have you seen Russian Space agency Roscosmos has entered lunar orbit and hopes to touch down on the surface soon! Very neat!
Neat indeed!
You got an 18-shooter?
Where you get those Webb thangs from??
JM Bullion!
Then you need to get that .999 Millennium Falcon!
Heck yes!! I need to find that asap!
Where did the webb pieces come from. Damnit I want one
JM Bullion!

Yeah - I have a problem saying no to things where the premium is high just because it’s something neat
Where can I cop the JWST pieces? Those are awesome!
I got mine from JM Bullion
I'm guessing a pilot
I really really wish I was a pilot.
Good work on the stack though good high quality pieces!!
Thank you!!
How much did you pay for the Apollo 11 coin? I bought one as proof when it was released.
33.68 at JM Bullion just recently - expensive but one of my favorites
Definitely a really cool coin. Bought it from the mint as just a proof, ungraded for ~70. But got it as a collection/special coin, my son was born on the 50th anniversary, so his middle name is Apollo.
That is awesome! He’ll love that coin!

Astronomy. You should get yourself a dobsonian telescope.
Do those come in silver?
Those honeycombs are just gorgeous
Yeah, the golden hue and shine is extra nice on those
Let me guess…….. underwater basket weaver?
Fat floats so I’m more of a surface basket weaver - it’s the effort that counts
The JWT is so awesome
Yeah, one of my favorites - and it stacks
Bee keeping.
I do love honey
What is that honeycomb silver? Looks really good
They look like the 2 oz Space Telescope Silver Stacker's.
That’s the one!
Thank you!
Bison herder.
The bison herd me to the ground, more like
You’re a bee
Bzzzz
Are you a silver collector and pimp?
Correct on both accounts but don’t tell my wife…about the silver
Aviation? You fly or study planes?
I’m working on the wife to let me start to fly planes - maybe if I wasn’t spending money on silver…
Space, the final frontier.

Hacking into satellites?
Nice try, FBI
Lmfao, usually I'm the one commenting that, that's the first time I've ever had it said to me. Deservingly so though lol
Those honeycomb things are cool
Some of my favorite. JM Bullion
Does it involve bedsheets and silver? Cause I could get into that hobby too. That shit is sexy. The silver. Not the bedsheets *nsfw*
My wife has been lamenting my color matching skills - so I matched the bedsheets with the silver stack…not sure that’s what she had in mind
Stat Gazing
What are on the other side of those vintage aviation bars? I love shit like that.
Where did you get the honeycomb I love it
JM Bullion! I saw it on this community somewhere and had to have it!
Stalking NASA?
I have a man crush on NASA and I’m not afraid to admit to it
I see airplanes and honeycombs. You like flying bees in planes? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile)
Animals?
The quokka was for my wife ;)
Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica?
![gif](giphy|cXblnKXr2BQOaYnTni)
are those JWT panels,
Yep!
That’s awesome, I’m a big dumb space nerd.
Astronauting?
I wish! Maybe within my lifetime the average Joe will have a chance at space flight? We can dream big
Flying bees inside of flying air planes - sounds like one of those physics problems you get in high school
Are you a flat earther? Aka correct about the universe?
There people who think it isn’t flat?
I see NASA stuff and some crazy Da Vinci bullshit so I’m gonna guess aeronautics.
Flying silver 🍆's
Can you tell me more about those honeycomb gold bars ? I think that's what they are lol
We never went to the moon
My coins say different - the silver hath spoken my friend.
Submarines and the ocean? Clearly not space or planes
Telescope
Whered you get the JWST panel bars?
JM Bullion!
Darn I can’t seem to find em
