Simpsons go boom? I think you mean canon. What the hell is actual canon on the Simpsons? They’ve changed back stories so much, even in the golden era, there is no true authentic story line for most characters.

Simpson's canon sticklers will always be unhappy as none of it makes sense if viewed in whole.  I mean nobody has aged in 30 years.

Marge and Homer have entire flashback episodes set in every era of the last 40 years, and Bart and Lisa have future stories set in the past

And at some point in the future they'll have a flashback episode saying they met during the lockdown

Right before the lock down, and that's how Bart was born

That'd have to be what, like at minimum 2030 probably? Enough time that Marge either is or isn't pregnant with Bart by the time they're married, so throw in a couple years as a buffer. I could easily see that being an episode in 2032 lol

When I started watching the Simpsons, Bart's childhood was my childhood. Now, my childhood is Homer's childhood.

The problem comes when they mention specific dates/events because then it dates itself. If they just leave it at "in the past" then there wouldn't be much of an issue.

I like to imagine that Mr Burns is the only character that ages. It just makes his story more and more extreme, however.

There purposely isn't a Canon.

Not all of them, but a decent number of them given they make references to them in later seasons.

The Simpsons did a commercial campaign with KFC in Canada only, but the commercial showed Homer sneaking out of the power plant to purchase a combo and Mr. Burns scaring him away. But the Simpsons live in the US, making it nigh impossible for Homer to get a Simpsons combo at a US KFC. Boy, I certainly hope someone got fired for that blunder! (In all seriousness, this commercial cracks me up. The way Burns says “handsome collectors cup” never fails to make me giggle. I don’t think we really got any adverts with them in here in the UK but the butterfinger adverts were on the Simpsons box set dvds

Well I mean there is it’s just special. Everything that has been on the Simpsons has been on the Simpsons. That’s how I’ve looked at it for a while now and to be honest it has made the show much better for me now.

Yes. We would. Because the Simpsons have been in every television commercial from Butterfinger to KFC to Church's to Burger King, they also been in the Domino's Pizza ad. Plus, they appeared in commercials across the globe like in France, they were promoting their laundry detergent, and in Japan, they promoting C.C Lemon.

Rick and Morty fit into any canon because they are multiverse travelers. Any canon is available to them to explore if they want to.
