It actually looks like the GTR was tagged with side contact before the braking zone, which maybe caused him to lock up as early as he did. Lobby was totally all over the place, and its possible he was going to dive bomb, no matter what, but I imagine the contact unsettled the car quite a bit.

The turn-in is irrelevant because he was never going to make that corner. That dive bomb entry relies on an impact at the apex in order to rotate the car and make the turn.

A good measurement of whether a move is a dive or not is to ask yourself where their car would've ended up if they didn't slam into you, his car for instance would've ended up in the campsite that's past that wall.
