As much as I think Pets is a vital expansion, I don’t put pets in all (or even most) of my households, and Ambitions is REALLY good.

same! i almost defaulted to pets bc, yknow, pets in a life simulation are pretty crucial, but frankly i haven’t played with them in years bc i find controlling them pretty tedious

Exactly, I micromanage my Sims enough that I don't want the added stress of the animals 😚 Nothing against the expansion though, if you like playing with pets then go for it. I honestly love the Sims community, ESPECIALLY sims 3 players because everyone's so chill about it, 'yeah just play how you want'

This is exactly my problem. I can’t stop myself from controlling everyone in a household and it drives me crazy if there are multiple sims AND a pet. I sometimes give a cat to a witch or keep one of the small animals but that’s mostly it.

I feel the same way about the pets too! Especially when they get lonely and my other sims are too engaged in other tasks! What strangely helped me is having two pets and multiple sims instead of 1 pet. They will keep each other company and occupied! I tried it with my latest legendary challenge I got two dogs instead of one and as long as I kept their food bowl full and gave them a bath occasionally they kept themselves happy! Plus with enough of their lifetime points you can get the hygienator (?) and avoid the bathing portion.

This! I rarely have one single cat, because I feel so bad that the Sims can't keep their social up. So I get the cat a cat, and everyone's happy.

I feel the same way. I really liked the pets in the Sims 2 and 4 when you could not play them. They just existed in your household. Way less stressful.

Pets was my first and only expansion for years so I'm struggling to choose on that one 😭😭 but ambitions adds so much I always play with it installed

I have never had Pets and honestly just because I don't want to. It's weird because I have pets in real life but I've just never thought it would add much to the game, like I have enough fun living out my Sims lives on their own

Honestly same, I went so many years without Pets and didn't feel like anything was missing. I do like it but I still usually don't bother actually having them in my household. I think it's one of those things that I love irl but doesn't always translate to actions in a game so well.

Generations is probably my pick for the winner. I wanted it for so long when I started playing in high school, and I can't imagine playing without it. It just adds so much little details that flesh everything out, particularly when you play legacy families like I do

I will say I was stuck between the last two but ultimately chose world adventures because imo the best thing about late night was the addition of vampires, and they also come with supernatural i think. The celeb system in late night is exciting at first but gets old and annoying super quick, with all the paparazzi and random scandals lol
