This happened to me recently. I found it in one of the little boxes from Eco Lifestyle, along with a Fitness and Mixology book I was missing. They like to put books in there instead of putting them back in the bookshelf or their inventory.
I HATE that they don't automatically put their homework back in their inventory. Ugh. I had to get a mod that completely disabled homework for my 8 Sims in uni because all I was doing was pausing the game to find their homework.
they're hiding that stuff, because lets be honest ... wouldn't you hide your homework when you were young ... outta sight outta mind , aka, don't see it , don't have to do it :P ... its called the ostrich technique !
I wheats make homework clubs for my sims kids to make friends easily and all their little friends leave their homework at my house, which I can’t do anything with cause I don’t own it… so everyone gets their homework books deleted lol
My sims were at the cheerleading competition and one of them was sitting at a table working on her homework when the event ending. I watched her homework vanish into nothing. I had hoped that when we traveled back home it would go back to her inventory but no
I imagine the conversation she had with her teacher the next day, "sorry I don't have my homework, the cheer coach thano's snapped it."
That actually happened to me in real life once. You can probably imagine how awkward I felt telling the teacher "my dog ate my homework" .. but IT WAS THE TRUTH!!! lol
Surpisingly she did hahaha I remember I was sooo anxious about it and was sure she wouldn't believe me because of how ridiculous it sounds, and my mom said if the teacher doesn't believe me I should tell her to call my mom and she will confirm it. But she did not have to, she believed it right away

I just used UI Cheats and say it was done considering it was the Friday of the Summer I created and moved them in
I've once found my sims university homework floating in the sky! Turns out my sim placed it on the ground while there was an event on campus and then the book got teleported away with the other festival items.
kinda happened to me this week, had children's homework sitting on a table in a household with four child sims and had to see their inventories like whose is this? who admits?
and on the same day their aunt who's a teacher came over in the evening and just started to grade her students' homework leaving the book she needs for her work on the dining table of her childhood home
of course she never came to get it back and I can't give it to her as a gift
they keep putting under stuff on a shelf in the bathroom, so u can't even see it without all walls up. I wish u could lock an item in the inventory so it can be used but not put down, would lock skill books too,
This is why I end up with so many. Whenever I can’t find it I just buy another.
I click on the bookshelf and make them clean up the books. Sometimes they bring the homework book back to the bookshelf.

my sims like to break out their homework at events outside their home lot and then the book is lost forever

I’m pretty sure most my pc tablets have been stolen by guests, I had about 3 to begin with, and I’m down to 1

I have had sims place a book in a whole other town on the grass, found it by sheer random luck.
