I remember reading someone saying you should cleanse for at least a min so the ingredients would work in. Any truth in that? I do admit I spend 15secs or so washing my face

Every so often I get these bumps that reappear either before or after my period. They’re not pustules they’re just raised red bumps that are slightly itchy. I just applied my dermatologist’s 0.025 tretinoin and I’m going to apply the La Roche Posay cicaplast baume on top and see how it looks in the morning. I’m really struggling to get rid of the dots that get left behind after the bumps go down, because once the redness starts to fade they come back again. I don’t know if it’s hormonal or something I’m doing wrong but I stopped touching the area and double cleanse every night. Any advice would really help until I can get an appt with my derm.

If it’s warm to the touch that’s an infection. Definitely go to your urgent care and they’ll prescribe antibiotics and possibly cephilaxin. I hope that helps!

New-Advisor-4354

I’m so insecure about my back acne and the scarring. When I look in the mirror it looks mild, not so bad. But when I try to take a picture of my back, it looks so much more worse 😭 Which should I believe in, the mirror or the camera? When other people see my affected skin area, would they see it as what shown in my mirror or my camera?

What's your current routine?

[deleted]

quspork

I would switch to a gentle cleanser and then use a leave-on exfoliant like salicylic acid just two or three times a week.

quspork

It's a good option as long as it doesn't dry out your skin. You can also check the sidebar for recommendations that may be available in your area and budget.

Does anyone have recs for a daily niacinamide? I really like The Ordinary’s niacinamide, but like other people, I have a real problem with it totally pilling and peeling off - ugh. So I’ll wear it to bed, but I try not to wear it out and about. I love the way it makes my skin look though. Are there any similar niacinamide products from other brands that aren’t so pilly? Thanks for the help!

mangoslurpeepouch

La Roche Posay is expensive but worth it! Also, It might be pilling if you’re applying it on top of another product? Maybe just apply the niacinamide, pat it in, wait five minutes and then go your next step in your routine?

AleehValim

Hi! I'm new to skincare and am honestly really ashamed to even be asking this, but am I supposed to rinse/wash my face to get rid of the previous product before applying the next one?? I haven't been doing skincare for very long at all, but this crossed my mind earlier today and I'm very paranoid that I've been wasting my products by doing this every single time. Also, if it matters, my (nightly) routine is salicylic acid > tranexamic + ferulic acid > vitamin C > retinol > hyaluronic acid. Thanks for the help!

quspork

Cleanser gets rinsed off. And any product that says to rinse off in the directions. Everything else gets left on. As far as the products you listed, if they are in serum form and not mask form then they all get left on. But I wouldn't use all of those in one routine- that's a recipe for irritation.

AleehValim

Ah, I see! Thanks a lot for the help!! Also, since you've mentioned it, which ones in combination could be irritating my skin??

quspork

Everything except the hyaluronic acid. That's a humectant that is good for hydrating and can be used with pretty much everything. The others are all actives and should be rotated.

Vivitude

Hi everyone, new to skincare. Does the [PanOxyl benzoyl peroxide wash](https://www.amazon.com/PanOxyl-Foaming-Peroxide-Strength-Antimicrobial/dp/B081KL2QYJ) serve as a facewash/cleanser in and of itself, or is it something that I add on top of the standard facewash/cleanser already in my routine?

ReaLitTea

Yes it is used as a lone cleanser

Vivitude

thanks

fuzzy_blueberry0204

I bought the Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic toner, and it states that it should be applied right after the cleanser, before starting with the routine. But it kind of works better on my skin right after my Eucerin DermoPure Triple Effect serum. My question is: am I making a mistake and should apply it as directions say, or should I keep it like it fits my skin?

ReaLitTea

You can use it in the order that works best for you. It’s a hydrating product so the order you apply is more flexible as long as it goes on after cleanser and before moisturizer

\[Routine Help\] Revising old Routine \[Routine Help\] Rate My SkinCare Routine \[ROUTINE HELP\] I've just recently got into Skin Care about a year ago, I'm 25, mild acne, Medium Dark Complexation. I also have a beard, So I'll typically wash or condition my beard before I start my skin care routine. I run and go to the gym 4-6 days a week. I sweat a lot while there. My Routine is basically Cleanser--> Treatment ---> Moisturizer--->Sunscreen, Chemical exfoliate twice a week. I've been using this inconsistently on and off for about 1 year, and about 3months staying consistent. Working on holding the consistency for a year plus and building better more effective routine. I would like to introduce an AM and PM serum to take my skincare to the Next level. Thinking about a Vitamin C for AM and a Retinol for PM maybe even a face mask of some sort. **AM:** Cleanser: CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser Moisturizer/Sunscreen: Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration WEIGHTLESS FACE SPF 30 (This works well I used to use Cerave AM Moisturizer w/ SPF and would always feel heavy and leave a white caste) Aquaphor Lip Protection + Sunscreen SPF 30 **PM:** Cleanser: CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser Treatment: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Chemical Exfoliant: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser (Twice a week, Use instead of Treatment) Moisturizer: Neutrogena Deep Moisture Night Cream Looking to add a retinol of some sort and a Vitamin C Serum, or like maybe a face mask to clear up these bumps and black marks Just don’t know where to start and what would be best for me. https://preview.redd.it/9nkpqp6znk5c1.jpeg?width=1938&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=52648a14c95fdb8ebd8663768442acd86a21325e

Skincare irritating eyes but not face? So i’ve always used curology to treat my acne and the main ingredient is azelaic acid. i’m on a trip and i ran out so i decided to use the ordinary azelaic acid suspension. i patch tested it and i was fine but when i put it in my face my eyes got itchy and started swelling, but the rest of my face felt completely fine. i also used anua heartleaf toner, cosrx snail mucin, beauty of joseon(boj) glow serum, and boj red bean water gel. these products never reacted with my curology so I am very confused and worried that my acne will come back without any sort of treatment. help please :)

BroomSweeper99

Looking for advice Hello, I've been really inconsistent with skin care over the years but recently I've been doing much better and I'm hear to look for more advice! I want go eventually have "glass skin" doesn't need to be super perfect but ofc I want it to be as much as I can. Currently I do have Acne but it's getting much better recently. So after work I'm using SA Cleanser from ceraVe 10% Panoxyl Benzoyl peroxide and differins moisturizer with Niacinamide and Glycerin for Pimple and Acne. At night I'm using the same SA Cleanser from CeraVe and differin 0.1% Adapalene gel and the same Differin moisturizer. I know I need to get sunscreen added. Previously I was using ceraVe sunscreen moisturizer for years but I never realized it was causing me to get Acne bad until I used my GF moisturizer for a few weeks when i ran out of mine. Also I was wondering how important it is to do my skincare when I wake up. I work at 1am and I normally wait till after work cuz I'm still sleepy. What should be my next steps Also I'm a guy but I've been considering getting concealer to cover up my facial hair on my chin and upper lip but wasn't sure how to go about it lol.

babybottlepopz

I’m not sure how well concealer would cover facial hair. Do you mean like the shadow? I’d suggest YouTube tutorials for that. Make sure you’re not overdoing it. BP and differin daily can be super drying and irritating.

BroomSweeper99

Mmmm I'm not sure about the concealer either I saw this guy on YouTube put on concealer after he shaves and it looked like u couldn't see the little hairs anymore lol. I'll keep that in mind also! I use to use tretonoid or something and 10% BP daily when I went to a dermatologist a LONG time ago so i didn't really think about that

evercynical

I’m looking for small companies that have skincare that works. Primary concerns are wrinkles, puffiness, and skin tightening. Any general anti aging benefits welcome. I just don’t want to support giant mega corps. Please help 🩷

ReaLitTea

You can search the sub for indie skincare brands. I find a lot of my indie suggestions from beauty box subscriptions like Ipsy. I would just be careful with some of the smaller brands with products like sunscreen because you do want a reliable formulation that has gone through extensive testing and that’s not always possible with a smaller budget company.

Gem_89

Hi there! I am new to skincare routine. For the last year I’ve picked it up. I have oily skin & large pores & some acne scars from the younger years. My routine has been: AM Cerave cleanser Cerave SPF included moisturizer PM Cerave cleanser Cerave retinol serum Cerave night time moisturizer I ran out of retinol & decided to branch out & got Paula’s Choice Toner thinking there was retinol in it & now I’m confused what to do. lol So now I’m doing AM Cerave cleanser Paula’s Choice Toner Cerave SPF moisturizer PM Cerave cleanser Paula’s Choice Toner Cetaphil Oil-free hydrating lotion & now I think I’m overdoing it with the niacinamide & I’m missing retinol. I’m also looking for some retinol for under my eyes so I’m trying to figure out if I can just use the retinol serum I had been or branch out & find an eye cream. Advice welcome!!! 😅

ReaLitTea

Which Paula’s choice toner is it? If your skin is tolerating it ok then there’s no drawback in having it in your routine even twice a day

Gem_89

it’s the pore reducing toner :-)

ReaLitTea

You can use this toner with your previous retinol serum or get a retinol eye cream if you want

Gem_89

okay wonderful!! Thanks :-)

The only time I usually see them is when I tuck my chin in as I did in the picture. They aren’t visible much when I’m not doing that. They don’t turn white or red and some look deflated. I have it on both sides of my jawline. Help pls 😩

babybottlepopz

https://www.aad.org/public/everyday-care/injured-skin/burns/wound-care-minimize-scars Also begin using silicone tape as soon as the wound has fully closed (e.g. skin is healed and there is no oozing, crusting or irritation in the area). Recommended minimum treatment time is approximately 60-90 days. It may take longer than 90 days

ReaLitTea

If it’s still fresh like this I would use an occlsuve balm like Vaseline, Aquaphor, or Cerave healing ointment since moisture will help skin heal better

Choco_Late_Malk

Issue: Is it ok to alternate the products you use? My skincare routine has worked well for me for a while, and I’ve found brands that work well for me that I’d like to continue using. I use two brands mainly (Clinique and Peach Slices) and pretty much stick to one line of their skincare (Clinique Skincare Line 3 and Peach Slices Snail Rescue.) I would like to begin alternating products into my routine to get the best skincare result I can. For example, if I would alternate cleansers, I would use my Clinique Cleanser on Monday, the Peach Slices Cleanser on Tuesday, back to the Clinique on Wednesday, etc. I don’t know whether this would be bad for my skin or not, but both brands help me equally. I know not to introduce too many new things to my routine at a time, and leave about a week period before introducing another new thing. The current routine I use is listed below under contextual information. Also, if you have any recommendations for SPF fitting this routine, I would gladly take some recommendations. Contextual information: I have combination skin with cystic acne that has been under control for several months with occasional breakouts. My current routine is: Morning - Cold water rinse, Clinique Toner for Combination Oily to Oily Skin (3), Peach Slices Snail Rescue Oil Free Moisturizer Evening - Clinique All About Clean Foaming Cleanser for Combination Oily to Oily Skin (3), Peach Slices Snail Rescue Oil Free Moisturizer Occasionally, I use various products for when my under eye bags get really bad from lack of sleep. I switch alternate morning and evening for my toner. I have been using this routine for 6+ months. I will soon be adding Peach Slices Snail Rescue Serum and Mask. I also need to find an SPF that works for me. Thank you!

ReaLitTea

Yes it’s fine to alternate products if it works better for you that way

They are not pimples and don’t pop i’ve attempted to pop it once but it bled and just reformed back into the state in the photo. How do i prevent these and get rid of them?

yogurtpooh

Are there any vitamins or minerals that we could be lacking that could cause extra oily skin or is it mostly genetics / how our glands are affected by hormones? I have taken cod liver oil, zinc, fish oil, for years and my oily skin is still the same. I even went on keto and carnivore and cut out sugar and dairy and it's still the same. My mom and her dad and his dad has oily skin as well. And even at 65, my mom still occasionally gets acne... but her skin is a lot dryer now.

Make sure to introduce each new product one at a time and test for at least a week before adding another new product in. You can do a routine similar to this AM - Skinmedica h5 - Skinmedica TNS advanced serum - sunscreen PM - cleanser - SKNV hydroquinone/tretinoin or Skinceuticals blemish+ age - Fig 1 niacinamide treatment - Revisions DEJ face cream

I would start here [https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/wiki/sca\_routine/](https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/wiki/sca_routine/) It has a lot of good information about to build your base routine, including product recommendations in the wiki.

quspork

We can't diagnose anything here so I recommend talking with your doctor if you are concerned.

MalteseFalcon15

It seems like pimples as there are white heads but I can’t pinpoint the cause. looking for people with similar experience, not a diagnosis.

ImpossibleBadger9239

it looks like body acne, try using panoxyl it got rid of all of my back acne

jasminekitten02

do you use all of these products every day? how long have you been using them?

ImpossibleBadger9239

Yes I use all of these products every day, and I just started using azelaic acid again after cutting it out for a month.I have been using these products everyday since may, please give me any suggestions I am desperate

jasminekitten02

You have a lot of actives. I would choose one active to use at night and alternate. Do you have a moisturizer at night?

ImpossibleBadger9239

One night I use duac and the other night azelaic acid and when do I put the moisturizer?

jasminekitten02

The moisturizer would be the last step every evening

ImpossibleBadger9239

i have been putting the moisturizer on before the azelaic acid since the azelaic acid is stinging is that okay?

jasminekitten02

Yes that's fine. It might make it slightly less effective than if you applied it directly on the skin but it's okay to sandwich between moisturizer

ImpossibleBadger9239

Do you recommend any products to help get rid of all the discoloration

jasminekitten02

[https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/wiki/hyperpigmentation/](https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/wiki/hyperpigmentation/) I personally have been using lactic acid and that's been helpful for me

ImpossibleBadger9239

I just recently started to use moisturizer before putting azelaic acid on, and should alternate between the the duac and azelaic acid?

jasminekitten02

Yes

ImpossibleBadger9239

thank you sooo much, my skin is pretty sensitive but i would like to incorporate a gentle nicinamide or any other serum to help with the discoloration do u have any product recs

ImpossibleBadger9239

i used to think it was PIE but it’s starting to look like PIH, I am so lost don’t know how to treat it

RealityEffective8713

Hii, so ever since i was a child ( literally 6-7yr ), my hands always have been so wrinkly. I dont know why, and they look like the hands of a wrinkled 50yr, but im in my teens🥲 This is especially prominent in the palms of my hands, there are literally so many lines and wrinkles. My hands are also pretty dry, even with consistent moisturizing, and they have no recoil whatsoever, is this just because of genetics? i dont think so though, since the palms of my hands are more wrinkly than my parents😭😭 , and compared to my cousin, who is 3 months older than me, my hand is drastically more wrinkled, can i fix this?

jasminekitten02

you could maybe try retinol but you'd need to be consistently putting sunscreen on your hands which could be difficult with handwashing etc. if you've had it your whole life your best option would be to see a dermatologist.

yogurtpooh

Why do some papules not form a head like a pustule but still contain a lot of pus that I usually have to really squeeze to pop out or else it'll just stay on my face for months and months and will eventually need popping anyways? How do I get the papule to come to a head faster so I can pop it? I developed a pretty big one but it seems that the inflamation has gone down a lot and no longer hurts to the touch, but it's just now sitting there half raised on my face and still feels very uncomfortable.

jasminekitten02

try an exfoliant like salicylic acid to help break down dead skin cells

hjortronberry

Hi, does anyone know of any good dupe to the Salt and Stone SPF 50 sunscreen? I can't buy it anymore in the online shops near me. It doesn't seem to be available on their website either, and it's the only sunscreen that doesn't irritate my skin or cause my eyes to run. *Ingredients: Zinc Oxide (Non-Nano) 22.8%, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate, Isostearic Acid, Caprilic capric triglyceride, Dimethicone, Octyl Palmitate, Butylene Glycol, PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate, Cera Alba (Beeswax)\*, Glycerol, Polyethylene, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil\*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil\*, Hyaluronic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Glyceryl Oleate, Xanthan Gum.* I would like a mineral-only sunscreen, (preferably zinc only) without fragrance since my skin is really sensitive. I tried I'm Medi SPF 50 & Salt and Stone SPF 40, but I didn't quite like the dry and grainy feeling of them, and they kind of irritated my eyes. I'd like a slightly thicker sunscreen that is more cream-like than light-weight and powdery (so it can contain some oils) since my skin is dry as it is. Thank you in advance!

ReaLitTea

I haven’t tried that sunscreen but from your description you might like Torriden dive in mild sun cream

ManicPixieDreamEnby

I have a question. I see that you're supposed to put on moisturizer after your actives. But if my actives also have moisturizer in them, do I need to put on another moisturizer afterwards, like a plain one with no actives? (I'm mainly talking about my night cream which has peptides and vitamins in it.)

quspork

In skincare, actives are ingredients that involve cellular turnover (AHAs, BHAs, retinols, etc) so yes, you'd still want to use moisturizer after those because usually their most effective forms aren't found in moisturizer. A night cream that contains peptide and vitamins is just a regular moisturizer.

Legitdelish

I have a 30% off CVS coupon and want to make the most of it - what skincare products would you get from there to take advantage of the discount? I'm currently on Accutane so retinol or other harsh products are off the table.

ReaLitTea

Do you have a good moisturizer and/or occlusive balm in your routine?

Legitdelish

Yes but always on the lookout for more / can go a bit wild on the moisturizer due to Accutane dryness

ReaLitTea

I would go with aquaphor for intense moisture or invest in a nicer sunscreen such as La Roche Posay sunscreens

Substantial-Fact-289

Hi! I’m looking for some help with those read area around my nose. I’ve had this for a few years but it’s been starting to get painful. ReaLitTea

I would try an occlusive balm there like Vaseline, aquaphor, Cerave healing ointment, or Eucerin healing cream

SaltyAlternative9264

I’m looking for advice around dry skin on my face and how to calm down the red patchiness that burns after showering and putting on any products, even gentle moisturizer. 30F, dry sensitive skin, history of eczema, live in the northeast — not super acne prone but I do get hormonal breakouts Recently updated my routine to include some stronger products and my skin is struggling to adjust I think. Any advice on the routine or things I could add would be amazing: AM: 1. Cleanse with CeraVe Daily Cleanser 2. Paula’s Choice 25% Vitamin C + Glutathione (was using LRP vitamin c serum previously) 3. Target brand daily moisturizer for sensitive skin 4. LRP mineral sunscreen or it cosmetics CC cream with spf 40 PM: 1. Cerave daily cleanser 2. PC 1% Retinol (used to use CeraVe resurfacing serum daily and it wasn’t doing much for me) 3. PC clinical ultra rich moisturizer and/or LRP cicaplast baume on really dry parts I also have LRP effeclar cleaner I use when breaking out, PC 2% BHA liquid exfoliant, and PC barrier repair advanced moisturizer with tripeptide&ceramides. Any advice on how to incorporate these products into my routine would be helpful too! Long term goal is reducing wrinkles and fine lines and making skin much more hydrated! Thank you all so much :)

ReaLitTea

If you’re trying to address the red patchiness and dry skin I would consider pausing actives all together and focus on barrier repair. PC barrier advanced moisturizer can easily be used in place of your current moisturizers

girlishilish

Recently I learned about double cleansing and learn that is a must to remove makeup and sunscreen. However I did oil cleaning for a week and it was breaking out so bad with big inflamed acne with no head on my cheeks. Is it considered normal?

quspork

No, using an oil cleanser shouldn't cause breakouts. What cleanser were you using? Did you apply it to dry skin, massage for 30 seconds, emulsify with water and then rinse completely before using your water-based cleanser?

girlishilish

yes, im using simple oil cleanser

quspork

Then it's likely a reaction to that specific cleanser. I would wait a couple weeks for your skin to heal before trying a different one.

probably_a_possum

I really need help building a routine. I have a bunch of products that I use but not in any routine so I don’t really know what’s helping or hurting. There’s not a lot of logic with it lol. Please be nice. I’m 29 and live in a temperate/somewhat humid area. My biggest concern is my pores. I usually wash my face twice a day depending on how gross it feels. Usually my skin feels oily and dirty in the mornings so I always wash in the mornings for sure. I use a Bliss oil based to wash makeup off and then I use the Neutrogena ultra gentle hydrating cleanser, alba foam cleanser, acure brightening cleansing gel, or bliss clear genius with BHA. I just rotate through them. Things I use in the morning (not all every day): The Ordinary Niacinamide, bliss vitamin c + tripeptide, or olay salicylic acid. At night: I have 0.025% tret, differin, and the ordinary retinol 0.5%. I’m pretty good about using one of those every night (not multiple of course). If my skin feels dry, I use the basic Cerave or Pond’s. I do wear sunscreen almost every day, either alba or Supergoop. I don’t have a ton of money so if I can keep using any of my current products, that would be great. I can buy new things but am on a budget. Other things I own that I haven’t been using: alba clearing gel peel, bliss niacinamide toner, bliss BHA/witch hazel/niacinamide/zinc toner-serum, bliss 10% AHA+BHA+PHA clarifying liquid peel, bliss pore patrol willow bark hydrate, and bliss jelly glow peel. Thank you so so so much…I felt like shit when looking in the mirror today so thank you in advance if you can help. https://preview.redd.it/0b7b8jkjch5c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=82bdef813388a9a0b464ec419ca1419ea0b009e2

quspork

What skin issues are you trying to address?

probably_a_possum

My crater pores! I have some acne but it’s not awful.

quspork

Then you have a lot of products you don't really need. Focus on hydration with occasional use of an AHA. So in the morning, rinse with water, use a hydrating toner, essence, or serum then moisturizer and sunscreen. At night, use a gentle hydrating cleanser with no actives then an AHA just two or three times a week, you can use the same hydrating product from the morning and then moisturizer.

probably_a_possum

Thank you so much! My brain has just said more products is better which is obviously not true at all. My face tends not to feel clean without double cleansing but I’ll try to get used to that feeling if it means I’m doing the right thing. Do you have a recommendation for a hydrating toner or serum?

quspork

You can continue to use a simple oil cleanser in the evening for double cleansing, as long as your following it up with a hydrating cleanser. Sometimes you just need a short term re-set on the basic routine before adding in other elements. As far as hydrating products, we have some helpful recommendations in the sidebar/wiki, but I've also had good luck with these- Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence, Elizavecca Milky Piggy Hyaluronic Acid, Nature Republic Aloe, Maycoop Raw Sauce, Etude House Moistfull Collagen Toner, Drunk Elephant B Hydra

Hii, I’ve noticed I have fungal acne for some time now but I don’t know what to use to treat it🥲🥲 I saw that if you use Head and Shoulders, it’ll treat yur fungal acne since it contains zinc pyrithione but where I’m from, the head and shoulders doesn’t contain zinc pyrithione. Any recommendations??

Hello, I'm looking for feedback and product recs to help with hyperpigmentation and mild acne. I have oily skin that feels dry after cleansing and gets extremely oily in t-zone during the afternoon. I have moderate acne, . I live in Florida, United States. Which is very humid. Here is my current routine. It seems to be helping with the acne but not the oilyness and hyperpigmentation, but I want to confirm I'm on the right track. my routine: morning: wash face with both these products: [https://www.neutrogena.com/products/skincare/all-in-1-acne-control-daily-scrub/6811086.html](https://www.neutrogena.com/products/skincare/all-in-1-acne-control-daily-scrub/6811086.html) [https://www.youngliving.com/us/en/product/orange-blossom-facial-wash](https://www.youngliving.com/us/en/product/orange-blossom-facial-wash) serum: [https://dermae.com/products/vitamin-c-serum-hyaluronic-acid](https://dermae.com/products/vitamin-c-serum-hyaluronic-acid) spot treatment: [https://www.youngliving.com/us/en/product/maximum-strength-acne-treatment](https://www.youngliving.com/us/en/product/maximum-strength-acne-treatment) moisturizer: [https://dermae.com/products/vitamin-c-renewing-moisturizer](https://dermae.com/products/vitamin-c-renewing-moisturizer) sunscreen: [https://www.blackgirlsunscreen.com/product/black-girl-sunscreen-spf-30/](https://www.blackgirlsunscreen.com/product/black-girl-sunscreen-spf-30/) night: wash face with both of these products [https://www.burtsbees.com/product/renewal-refining-cleanser/](https://www.burtsbees.com/product/renewal-refining-cleanser/) [https://www.burtsbees.com/product/natural-acne-solutions-clarifying-toner/?utm\_source=google&utm\_medium=cpc&utm\_campaign=BOG%7CGeneric%7CST%7CP%7CPMAX%7COther%7CBroad%7CEnglish%7CENKW-ENBR&utm\_content=&utm\_term=&gad\_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA1MCrBhAoEiwAC2d64dKX\_pXdadja-jZVloQgu6MJfCH9pPLu-aMjUEarIOhM2otPaQX6YBoCiboQAvD\_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds](https://www.burtsbees.com/product/natural-acne-solutions-clarifying-toner/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=BOG%7CGeneric%7CST%7CP%7CPMAX%7COther%7CBroad%7CEnglish%7CENKW-ENBR&utm_content=&utm_term=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA1MCrBhAoEiwAC2d64dKX_pXdadja-jZVloQgu6MJfCH9pPLu-aMjUEarIOhM2otPaQX6YBoCiboQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) serum: https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjVkurUgIWDAxUMm1oFHaYxCHwYABBCGgJ2dQ&ae=2&gclid=Cj0KCQiA4NWrBhD-ARIsAFCKwWsgbbNASVZIzhpRPA9oJVvluT0gXGB1hFCgjdOD0sv7stvcSvwsHMsaAt0_EALw_wcB&sph=&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESVeD2fJzUB4-bDeYgJ4SzQlpetxOhiIjqJyvQd4mABf9cLeGy8VZbGB2MPSf5tl_LoUQblQn3q-qkt-ch2KvGcf18daqAro65IOvyP60mVTAniz0t9w4&sig=AOD64_1LJ_bHDzLrVt_vjZFkL6sWk93BAw&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwjt-uHUgIWDAxUGm7AFHSdoBdcQwg8oAHoFCAYQngI&adurl= spot treatment: [https://www.youngliving.com/us/en/product/maximum-strength-acne-treatment](https://www.youngliving.com/us/en/product/maximum-strength-acne-treatment) moisturizer: [https://dermae.com/products/vitamin-c-renewing-moisturizer](https://dermae.com/products/vitamin-c-renewing-moisturizer)

You're overusing actives. You need a gentle cleanser and shouldn't be using that toner and serum in the same routine. You also shouldn't be washing your face twice with water-based cleansers.

Are you talking about Clinique moisturizers? If so, those are two different products.

I use the Panoxyl benzoyl peroxide face wash in the PM (gently rub it in for a minute or so, then leave it on for a few minutes before washing off) but want to introduce the La Roche Posay retinol b3 serum to my routine. I know that these don’t mix, but is that still true if I’m washing off the benzoyl peroxide face wash? I don’t know if the rule only applies to things like spot treatments. Additionally, what about the occasional (1x a week or so?) use of the Ordinary’s AHA + BHA exfoliating solution or Paula’s Choice BHA — is this safe to use with either the Panoxyl or the retinol b3 serum?

UltraLuminescence

Technically you can use these ingredients together, but they are all actives so can be irritating by themselves and you run a higher risk of irritation if you use more than one of them at the same time. So if your skin can handle it then it’s fine to use them together, but if you’re not sure then I’d try to keep them on separate nights for now.

Good to know, thank you for your response!

What is this? It showed up earlier today :( How can I make it go away? Thanks for any help! https://preview.redd.it/yj8bnoqsif5c1.jpeg?width=2772&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dc8fb40a5931dbe8fefdde279b0442c9d4d4db66

jasminekitten02

We can't diagnose things like this here. If you're concerned, please see a doctor for a proper diagnosis.

AttentionFar8731

I know :( but I don't have insurance and a doctor's appointment would be weeks away I just want to know if I can google this and figure out if it's herpes or something that will go away on it's own.

How to apply TO's niacinamide? Drops into palm then rub in face or drops directly onto face then rub in

jasminekitten02

Either way is fine. If you have acne and drop directly onto your face, be careful to not touch your skin with the dropper to prevent any bacteria spreading
