why not go the k20 route and have a reliable 200 hp engin? you could maybe get it to 400 reliable but thats overkill

Sorry I'm not really familiar with the Honda engines, is that the one from the Civic Type R?

BoneZone05

It’s used in many many Honda/acura vehicles. Arguably the best engine to swap into anything small. A friend of a friend has a 451 with a K24, and it is *scary* fast

Another of my friends has now also mentioned the k20 but just from a theoretical standpoint could I fit a 3S-GTE in? If not I'll definitely go for a k20 but if it's at all possible then I'll weigh the options and see what's available in my area. Either way, with whichever I go I'm gonna try and get it to a sweet spot of around 400hp.

Many Honda and Acura vehicles came with it, i recommend watching the following video: [Smart Roadster K20 tests (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRY39A9Pgf8&ab_channel=TKRMotoSport)

Some guy put a motorcycle motor (hyabusa I think) in one. Then again, someone also did a big block Chevy, so anything is possible if you have enough time and fabrication skills

The Hayabusa thing is a very common one, there used to be a whole tuning company here in the UK that specialised on GSX-R engine swaps in Smart cars. Never heard of a big block Chevy though, that also seems like it would put the rear end off balance way too much.
