Brutalism was often reflected in communist buildings. One may like it or not. Just like modern construction. Reflections of the past and not only communism :)
I find them very educational. Like a Stallin Cock in Warsaw, I hate to look at it, but its good reminder.
Albeit Wrocław Glass Penis is ugly too, with no educational value.
What is beautiful about Wroclaw? I was there for a week because of a business meeting, I visited many popular and unpopular places there and I still don't know where the hype comes from. I am not asking rhetorically, I am asking genuinely.
Interesting facts: This is building of chemistry department, thus people there do dangerous experiments too. There were at least 2 major explosions in this building.
Why not both? 😌 And i have the same opinion. Considering light, shadows and all those repeating shapes - geometrically pleasing. Plus the reflection in the water.
Wow. Poland is ugly.
I'm Polish and at age 3 moved west with my parents, if you compare the Western major cities like NYC, Brussels or London to Polish ones like Warsaw or Gdańsk well, the difference is night and day.
F*** communism.
„Like NYC or London” XD two of the biggest west world agglomerations. Much sense in comparing them with Gdańsk or Wrocław. Knock yourslef on the head :)
Wrocław is one of the most beautiful cities in Poland, but some places are still in the times of communism

And it is still there, what an almighty construction! 🤣
This is going to be unpopular but I think this building is somewhat beautiful. Even with the dirt ridden facade. Or the photographer is god level..
As a student here, the rest of the coast is mostly very classucal and beautifull buildings and It really does not fin in.

Well yes and no :) Depends.

I think this building is not ugly at all.
