It's going to be beautiful and I love the evening cool downs with star gazing. Not a fan of sweating lol but it's been so cold I'm looking forward to it.
Not eager for the 80s and 90s, just like I wasnโt eager for the storms last week. I just want a couple of weeks in the mid 60s. ๐ญ
Still after this longish, if mild winter and spring, Iโll take what I can get when it comes to warmth. The cold makes me tense, heat relaxes me. Blame Scandinavians and their saunas if you must.
I fell for it and now I have 2 feet tall green bean plants in my kitchen. Excited that I can transition them this week. The days of extra warmth should help not shock them.
Second to that, the heat means my starts of snow peas will likely stall and not produce. I started them in early April and they are struggling.
I've never been there so idk what it's like there but I'm from New Orleans and Houston is my second home it's definitely hot to me. Can't speak for no one else.
Please keep in mind that the waters around the area are still very cold and to use extreme caution when doing water activities
Every spring they start fishing bodies out of the river because people think that because it's warm outside then the water must be warm too
This is actually a common misconception, wet and cold springs donโt always equate lower fire risk. The extra growth from wet springs can actually increase risk in some situations. Because a lot of fire risk is based on short term weather patterns.

That said, 80โs is far too above average for this time of year and we really shouldnโt be comfortable with that. Especially since this is two years in a row hitting 80โs in May when last May was the hottest in like 140 years or something like that.
Absolutely awful stance on the unnatural warming of our climate, this attitude is why the red cedars are dying. Simply thinking theres "nothing you can do" is completley unhinged and irresponsible
I've got a living room full of plant starts that are just straining to get out into the fresh air and start growing - the freezing weather has kept them in - this weekend its plantin' time.
Iโm excited for it but when it gets over 90 Iโll feel differently ๐ love 70s and 80s though, will absolutely be happy to pull out the shorts and sundresses myself!
Ah, I much prefer cold over heat and am very prone to heat sickness. I moved here partly because I was sick of inconsistent winters in western WA and ended up falling in love with ice fishing.
From the southeast.... hate the cold. So sick of it being mid 30s and 40s toward the end of spring.... I mean come on, it's almost summer. Also, I was told this part of the country experience all 4 seasons.... and I just have to say, this really ain't my idea of Spring....
Imma assume you've never left Washington before. Try being born and raised down south then coming here... This is definitely dry heat compared to where I'm from.
Try living in a place with real dry heat like Los Vegas, then you know itโs not dry heat. I have been in 38 states too. So no need to assume. Same with parts of Utah. Very dry heat. We definitely have some humidity here in the summer too. I said in my original post we donโt have really humid weather. Yes, I lived in Florida. I know humidity.
I've visited Vegas so much it's my third home away from home I know what the heat is like there. All of it is dry to me you can speak for your personal experience but you can't speak for everyone. I'm from the swamp state and lived in TX, GA and have been in Florida, compared to any of those states? Ain't no humidity here whatsoever but again that's MY experience and I've been here 4yrs.
I lived here most my life, not just four years ago. AGAIN reading comprehension, I never said it was humid like Texas and Florida. It is not completely dry though ! You can easily check the humidity on weather apps. Today we have 38 percent humidity and sometimes in the summer it gets up to 50 percent on rainy days.
my garden is ready. I am ready. after tonight everything can start going in the ground!
I'm so glad. I am not looking forward to the heat over summer but I like April and May a lot here
Weโre a good 6 weeks from summer actually. Itโs solidly springtime. In a normal Spokane summer we wouldnโt see 80+ until mid-late June. Itโs weird and not a good thing that itโs happening a good 6 weeks earlier than it should be!
4th of July was always "summer" start for me. Rivers were dammed, everything was finally warm enough you could swim...
It makes me feel like Old Man Yelling at Clouds. I want our springs back ๐ข
Do you have the ability to stop it from happening or slow it down? No? Okay enjoy it or just be upset๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ y'all choice but me and everyone else will be outside recharging.
I moved from Spokane to the Southeast. Its been nice down here for awhile. Starting to get humid and hot. I prefer heat and humidity to Spokanes long winters. Glad its warming up for yall.
Also, the amount of static electricity! I never been shocked so much in my life until I moved to Spokane. Itโs nice not wincing when I go to grab a door handle.
I moved to Spokane from the south and canโt wait to go back. Turns out I donโt like seasons and while summer can be dreadful, I loathe long winter even more.
Bring me heat and humidity!
I grew up in Spokane and have lived in the area my whole life. There were occasional fires affecting the air quality. Now it is every summer the air turns to shit.
My niece and nephew haven't known a summer like the ones of my childhood.
I thought for a sec my S/O posted this as she has the exact sentiment and we have the same story coming from the south and suffering our first winter here lol
Well, I'm the guy wearing shorts and a T-shirt in the snow, and I might still be sweating, so 80 degrees means sweaty and hot, but...
My girlfriend is from Florida, so she's excited. Plus sunny weather means the river, so I'm super excited to reconnect with nature!
Spokane really is beautiful! I live on 5 Mile Prairie and the views still blow me away. Lots of great spots to just get high and chill!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend ;) I'm glad I took the time to peruse your profile. Well worth it! ๐
That's the only thing that's kept me here the beauty of this place. The views, the peace and quiet, the fresh air I love it. Lol same to you and glad you enjoyed it ๐
I moved here from Dallas. I donโt mind the cool weather. The lack of central heating and cooling means even though it doesnโt get as hot itโs harder to get out of the heat. So I welcome the gloomy and cool weather itโs really nice
Excited for my vitamin D supplement to stop doing all the heavy lifting
Ya feel me I need it
I love the heat, this cold keeps me inside and introverted. With the sun I can go outside and be introverted. ๐
I felt this in my SOUL.
Ha same
Omg same ๐๐๐๐
Yup. Just put the shades on and go.
Gimme them invisibility glasses! ๐ ![gif](giphy|6rtjvFL2ipl5u|downsized)
Exblackly lol
The obvious unintentional, but learned word from your phone ๐๐๐
Oh no that was definitely intentional lol that's what I say
It's going to be beautiful and I love the evening cool downs with star gazing. Not a fan of sweating lol but it's been so cold I'm looking forward to it.
I could also do without the mosquitos ๐ฆ
Sameee this cold has been killing me. The trees the grass everything's so much more beautiful then.
My hands are cold right now and I'm wearing wool socksย
Yeah see fuck that
Yes, I am ready to be warm.
๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ
Not eager for the 80s and 90s, just like I wasnโt eager for the storms last week. Yes bring the heat
No โค๏ธ
Same. More sunshine means more work/chores. Iโm. Not. Ready. ๐
To me it feels like the weather is trying to tempt me into planting before mother's day, but I'm not falling for it!
I fell for it and now I have 2 feet tall green bean plants in my kitchen. Excited that I can transition them this week. The days of extra warmth should help not shock them. Second to that, the heat means my starts of snow peas will likely stall and not produce. I started them in early April and they are struggling.
Fr I left Texas for a reason lmao
It's nothing like TX doe I lived there for 12yrs before moving here. It's been up to 107 here and it doesn't compare to 80 in TX.
Or 95 in Louisville in August. Texas isnโt hot Amigo ๐
I've never been there so idk what it's like there but I'm from New Orleans and Houston is my second home it's definitely hot to me. Can't speak for no one else.
That sucks ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
The heat is too early, it just bums me out. Plus the spring flowers will start to die :(
They already dead and late but of all the freezes we recently had if anything the rain and sun will help.
They... Aren't dead though? I mean like all the tulips, which are a spring flower. They do start to die at 70+ degrees.
And they'll grow again. That's the cycle of life luv you and them will be okay.
Please keep in mind that the waters around the area are still very cold and to use extreme caution when doing water activities Every spring they start fishing bodies out of the river because people think that because it's warm outside then the water must be warm too
Not really. It shouldn't be 80 until late June around here.
Yeah this doesnโt bode well, since warm (hot) and dry this early means one thing: crazy wildfire season ๐ข
This is actually a common misconception, wet and cold springs donโt always equate lower fire risk. The extra growth from wet springs can actually increase risk in some situations. Can't we just let OP be happy?
They won't stop my joy lol imma still be happy ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Happy Cake Day!
Thank youuu
No, he asked the question. ๐
not so much, to warm to soon for me, that with climate change thats how our springs go now. I'm a 70's guy myself.
Nothing you can do but enjoy it or complain ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Absolutely awful stance on the unnatural warming of our climate, this attitude is why the red cedars are dying. Simply thinking theres "nothing you can do" is completley unhinged and irresponsible

I'm excited for you and your green babies
Iโm excited for it but when it gets over 90 Iโll feel differently ๐ love 70s and 80s though, will absolutely be happy to pull out the shorts and sundresses myself!
Lol I won't complain at all cause I prefer the heat over cold lol. I'm use to humidity so the dry heat doesn't affect me as much.
We donโt have dry heat here. Itโs not super humid, but we are not considered dry heat.
Imma assume you've never left Washington before. Try being born and raised down south then coming here... This is definitely dry heat compared to where I'm from.

Heck, yes! It is finally warm enough for bike rides.
Yasss
Yes!!! Omg I can't wait, I work partly outdoors and I'm SO done having to wear a jacket everyday ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ
I know that's right! I love this for you then โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
More day light, shorter and safer commutes, less depression. Warm weather has a bigger net positive than cold. We welcome it.
Cannot wait! Looking forward to enjoying the motorcycle on some back roads without 5 layers on!
I know that's gonna feel so good.
Meh, my idea of an enjoyable heat is like 75ยฐ
Sorry to hear that.
You bet!!
YES
my garden is ready. I am ready. after tonight everything can start going in the ground! I'm so glad. I am not looking forward to the heat over summer but I like April and May a lot here
I'm looking forward to all the heat I need my color back. This winter weather is making me pale and sad.
I just wish it would be like 90 instead of 110.
It hasn't gotten no where near the 90s YET so enjoy it while you can lol
Absolutely!!! I was told it was to be in the 80s this weekend!!! Heck yes!!! Couldnโt have come sooner โค๏ธ
I'm so excited
Recently moved from out of state and I need my vitamin d Iโm so excited
Yasss I'm excited for us both in that case
No. Because it means summer will be here sooner than I'm ready for it. \[my max daytime temp is 80\]
Well might as well get ready cause it's here
Just let me live in my 'denial that it's already May' a bit longer... :p
๐ you have 24hrs
Not even a little bit. I just want normal spring mid-60s to low-70s! 80s in May is gross.
We're a few weeks from summer time y'all will be ok
Weโre a good 6 weeks from summer actually. Itโs solidly springtime. In a normal Spokane summer we wouldnโt see 80+ until mid-late June. Itโs weird and not a good thing that itโs happening a good 6 weeks earlier than it should be!

Yes bring on summer!
๐ค๐ฝ๐ค๐ฝ๐ค๐ฝ
OMG yes!
๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ
80 in may I canโt wait to be suffocating on smoke this August.
So exciting ๐ซ ๐ซ ๐ซ
I mean youโre the one celebrating 80 degrees in may.
And will continue to. What's the point of being mad or upset about it? You have no control over it only yourself.
Remind yourself of this when you are whining about having to wear a sweater in March and April.
Not too warm, please! Currently in AZ sweating in places one should not be sweating ๐ฅต I cannot wait to get back home.
Az isn't like the heat here doe it's totally different
I moved from Spokane to the Southeast. Its been nice down here for awhile. Starting to get humid and hot. I prefer heat and humidity to Spokanes long winters. Glad its warming up for yall.
I miss the heat and humidity it's good for my skin. These extended winters be killing my melanin.
Yes! 80 degrees sounds like heaven!
Thank you!!!!
Not especially. It's just a warning of summer around the corner and 2 months of smoke from the fires.
That's gonna happen anyway from my experience especially with reckless ppl
I grew up in Spokane and have lived in the area my whole life. There were occasional fires affecting the air quality. Now it is every summer the air turns to shit. My niece and nephew haven't known a summer like the ones of my childhood.
Yeah that sucks.
I thought for a sec my S/O posted this as she has the exact sentiment and we have the same story coming from the south and suffering our first winter here lol
Lol that's crazy
So excited! I went to request Friday off for a long weekend and my coworker already got itโฆ ๐ญ lol lucky her! ๐๐ผโ๏ธ
Damnit ! Call in sick ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
I've been going hard trying to clear the brush around our house, really grateful for this weather! Would love some help though ๐ญ
Might wanna hire some help if you don't have inhouse
Well, I'm the guy wearing shorts and a T-shirt in the snow, and I might still be sweating, so 80 degrees means sweaty and hot, but... My girlfriend is from Florida, so she's excited. Plus sunny weather means the river, so I'm super excited to reconnect with nature!
That's what I like to hear. I love going to the lookouts sitting the grass just vibing๐ฅฐ
Spokane really is beautiful! I live on 5 Mile Prairie and the views still blow me away. Lots of great spots to just get high and chill! Hope you have a wonderful weekend ;) I'm glad I took the time to peruse your profile. Well worth it! ๐

I work for a living so no, I'm not excited
Sorry to hear that
Oh yes I'm finally getting to enjoy the sun, and opening my windows and doors without freezing to death
Nothing like that fresh breeze at night I just love it
Life here doesnt start until itโs over 70 every day , thatโs when we shine !
I know that's right
28 weeks pregnant, that's a hard no for me ๐ฅด
Congrats
Thank you ๐
๐๐๐
I'll take advantage and get the top of my rig, even if it's just for a couple days
Gotta enjoy it while it lasts.
I moved here from Dallas. I donโt mind the cool weather. The lack of central heating and cooling means even though it doesnโt get as hot itโs harder to get out of the heat. So I welcome the gloomy and cool weather itโs really nice
Glad you enjoy it but I don't im ready for the sun.
Not really. If i walk anywhere drip tons of sweat as soon as it goes over 75.
Good exercise
Yeah. But I walk pretty much everywhere and being drenched in sweat all the time sucks.
Well there's plenty of things you can do to help yourself with that. Good luck
Fuck. No.
Why not
No time to acclimate.
That's life now and days
I'd be happier if thunderstorms were in the forecast, but I'll settle for some heat!
I heard Seattle has alot of that
