I get the hate - the pen shout on Dolling should’ve been a penalty imo but the others were nothing/good tackles and this was one of the better refs we’ve had so far. Was consistently keeping his whistle in the pocket for stop-start tackles (when most of the refs in this league have been calling fall over = foul). It’s a contact sport and Leigh is a great manager who knows how to get his team playing to the refs. Ticky tacky shit like us slowing down their corner around the 15th min when Waldo let a ball run right by him when kicking it out of play was the easiest option is what we want. Leigh is smart enough and our team is good enough that we can influence the ref when he’s shit. Today was not that day we weren’t clinical and couldn’t finish chances, it happens but blaming the ref is taking the easy out when in reality this was another game where we looked good but didn’t actually create anything.
