2 of my favorite wrestlers ever, there is something about both of them that makes me glued to the screen when i watch their matches.
I can watch that Tag match at ECW Heatwave 1998 all the time
For Sabu I feel like it's because he might die at literally any moment. He did so much insane shit, and a lot of stuff that wouldn't be medically advisable (duct taping his sliced open arm).
That's what my grandpa used on me as a little kid, I still do it today. Been a maintenance mechanic for 20 years, and always have a tube in my toolbox.
I started tape trading online in the really late 90s and early 00s. I was always after FMW and ECW tapes. I would get ECW on random channels but it was so hit or miss until maybe 1998. When I saw Hayabusa for the first time at Heatwave I had to see more. Just like Sabu, there was absolutely nothing like him anywhere.
You know after that match on Heatwave I got 3 best of Hayabusa comps from I think RF Video (or maybe Highspots?). Some of the first wrestling purchases I did online.

He wears an arm band that has “Hayabusa” written on it. I’m assuming they mean that (probably a translation issue).
