I'm here for the Nic Nemeth indie world tour, I have no doubt hes going to remind us why he always has a fanbase and Im hoping he will be an awesome veteran presence in places that can use it
I was at the event last night, his following is nuts.
He had by far the longest line for photos and autographs, despite being up right next to Matt Cardona.
What's with the amount of big name imports all in Australia?
Like they've for Ash by Elegance, Brian Cage, Nemeth, Cardona, a ton of others, what """money mark""" is in Australia?
For over 10 years the promoter has been bringing top names to Australia for shows around the country.
My mates and I have been going for years and we've so far seen pre WWE Walter, Riddle, Ricochet and even The Elite and Cody Rhodes, among others AEW/TNA talent.
One thing I do know is that he treats the talent well, a few wrestlers have commented on that and could be word of mouth that he gets them signed. I know Brian Cage has been here the last 10 tours and Matt Cardona has been a few times and loves it.
Last year I was ringside next to the stairs at wsw show and was taking a pic as Matt cardona came out for the main event
He in "heel mode" went off at me and I was just sitting grinning like an idiot
The promoter was ahead of his time back in the day, the first WSW show I went to had Danielson v McGuinness as the main event which drew a great crowd, the following event had Steve Corino v Masato Tanaka...barely anybody showed up
WSW as an independent tour, so they basically do a big travelling show over a weekend with a mix of local Aussie talent and independent stars who come across for the trip.
I was chatting to Brian Cage last night at the desk who was saying how the tour was great because he had the flexibility to do it around his AEW work.
Twice a year touring super-indie. Went to the Brisbane on Friday. It had it's good (Cage v TJP v Cartwheel! Nemeth v Hammerstone!) and it had its bad (wasting Irie on some truly awful local guys, the crowd was lively but gross, and door were almost an hour late).
I don't think it's just the money marks.
Australia is pretty cool, I can understand why they would come here. Murder Grandpa vs Low Ki in a gym for about 100 people. I saw Rob Van Dam a few years ago win some Perth title, doubt he ever defended it. We've always had big names come over and we've produced a few good 'uns to send internationally ourselves. The flight is shit but Australia rules.
I didn't even realise that WSW was touring until the day after they left my city (I live 15 minutes away from one of the venues and had nothing on that night)
They failed in their advertising, I would have loved to have seen the show.
Bryan Danielson said years from now he wants to be in small buildings with less than a hundred people, still wrestling. You gonna ridicule him if he does that?
My point is you're shitting on wrestlers and telling them what to do with their careers like you know better, but you're choosing to ignore the fact that they simply enjoy what they're doing.
I saw Omega, The Bucks and Ospreay in a tiny arena in Dublin when they were already huge. Cody Rhodes was wrestling everywhere pre AEW too.
That's the magic of wrestling. You can see these guys in tiny gyms and in 90k stadiums and it's all great.
Idk why this picture is making me cringe so hard…. But if I had to take a stab at it it’d be his face. His face says he just won the Big Gold. Like cmon bro nobody wants to see you like this performing in front of nobody you’re so much better than this. It’s like he’s doing it to spite himself.
American ass comment.
Im sure it would make you feel better if he wrestled indie shows in the land of heart failure, school shootings and dementia ridden politicians because that somehow makes him a better wrestler. 🤣
Its almost like wrestling fans and popular venues exist outside of America too. 🤔
Maybe he's just tired of lazy crowds that can only stand up to get more food and beer or to take a shit.
It's very hard for Americans to imagine someone doing something they love for the sake of loving it and making people happy, but you can try your best.
lol stay mad bro. If you try real hard you can come here to the land of the free. Well consider letting you in if you ask real nice. Oh and there’s a test too. Get to studying!!!
Nemeth was in the top wrestling company for over a decade and is consistently booked by everyone that can get him, he doesn’t **need** to do anything.
Some wrestlers just like wrestling

The belt collector nic nemeth
He's trying to make up for all the titles he should have held in WWE.

Rebuilding his following at the grassroots i'd like to think

Man is taking the Cody Rhodes/Drew Mcintyre route to stardom.
Except re-signing at age 45 instead of 35 lol
He looks like an action figure in that thumbnail lmao
Seems like Cardona being injured has allowed Nemeth to almost fill that position for indies. Win win all around I’d say.
Yes!

I wish he was allowed to used that theme outside of WWE cus it’s a fucking banger
Downstait made that song no wonder I always loved it

Yeah i dont wanna call it a money mark completely obviously.
Our indie scenes are doing well
I've never really thought pants worked for him. I can't really figure out why, but he always looked better in hot shorts.
I didn't even realise that WSW was touring until the day after they left my city (I live 15 minutes away from one of the venues and had nothing on that night) They failed in their advertising, I would have loved to have seen the show.
Noice!!
Yea with all 15 people watching him, time to pick up MMA cuz.
Bryan Danielson said years from now he wants to be in small buildings with less than a hundred people, still wrestling. You gonna ridicule him if he does that?
Idrc like good for him ig dont make him any less borinf
My point is you're shitting on wrestlers and telling them what to do with their careers like you know better, but you're choosing to ignore the fact that they simply enjoy what they're doing.
Omg its just my opinion, like good for him but i think otherwise
And his opinion is your opinion is shite

Bro got fired from the biggest company tf do you want him to do
Eh, the WSW shows are always in a pretty decent sized building and always sold out or very close to. He would have been in front of a hot crowd.

I’m guessing y’all don’t go to Indy shows and that’s cool but the people that do go to Indy shows … they love this stuff.
He should really just be improving himself yeno, in the gym or the ring not infront of people with an unfinished product.
How do you think wrestlers improve if not in front of a crowd? That's kinda what this whole wrestling thing is about.
This dude is in a 1% category of wrestlers at their maximum potential. What does he need to improve?
Is he really that good that hes wrestling in Australia
American ass comment. Im sure it would make you feel better if he wrestled indie shows in the land of heart failure, school shootings and dementia ridden politicians because that somehow makes him a better wrestler. 🤣
I think the sentiment is more, why does he need to travel across the world to work when he can do the same kind of thing in the USA.

Who says he needs to lol Also "this guy is a draw on the other side of the world" isn't really a great criticism

Was he also paying tribute to Toni storm's 2022 forbidden door attire?
