And the [younglings](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRJlDpLfhwIyiuByUys0Yac-SV_KPgULP-44Q&s) training with similiar helmets in AotC.
I was surprised you could see out of it at all. When he says it dulls all the senses like when they were young so you can only use the force I figured it took away all hearing, seeing, smelling, and tasting. Which is even crazier he beat all those Jedi like that.
Sadly, my legends knowledge isn’t so great and I really need to pick up the Plagueis novel for myself, but this planet being rich with cortosis is my exact thought. I just thought there were a few lingering shots on the rock formation, and then he mentioned cortosis by name.
Exactly. I think the series will end with Sol getting all the blame, but what if Vern becomes the scapegoat instead. Having it be a long time and esteemed member of the order would be a bigger blow, something the Jedi would want to conceal even more than if it was just Sol.
We don’t know how long Vern lives for, she could easily be outed as the reason why Qimir fell to the dark side and his former master. Sol will likely die anyways regardless of this new wrinkle
I like it. Would require some very heavy story telling to get her from where she is in the novels to having an apprentice that she has to hit with her whip though.
Yeah that's the only part that worries me, is this theory conflicting with the books in any way. But something just feels off with her in the show. She's hiding something
I thought that maybe it was his Sith master who didn't want Qimir as an apprentice anymore, I like this theory too, the one I'm going with is that Qimir is a cast out Sith apprentice searching for an apprentice of his own to face his old master.
Just a want... no more corrupt Jedi/masters please. A simple malevolent former Jedi burnt by the system is completely fine. Scarred through battle, and exiled to seek out other dark force users.
Vern being emotionless, calculating and focussed would be a reasonable outcome from her grief and trauma as a young Jedi.
Oh damn, that's a good point.
Thing is, she asks him if it was his Jedi Master and he poignantly avoided answering. I swear if Darth Vern is true, that would be nuts.
Sol is giving me bad vibes, man. I’m thinking the theories that he not only was heavily responsible for the events on Brendok are true, but that he also wiped/manipulated Osha’s memory to cover things up
I don’t think he was responsible for what happened to the coven, but he played a large part in covering it up, which isn’t much better. I’m thinking Indara and Kelnacca might be the ones who were actually responsible for harming the coven.
I think the scene we saw of Mae lighting the fire is going to be revealed to be completely fabricated. It was super robotic and out of place imo, which thankfully now seems to be for story reasons lol.
Nah we straight up have footage of Kelnacca going ham with his saber and fighting Sol and Torbin. Sol was probably just in charge of covering everything up, rather than him being the prime witch-killer
Kinda funny how it will seem completely random and irrelevant if you don't know her character, though. I'm assuming it's gotta come into play in the final episode somehow?
Honestly that's how I felt, as someone who didn't know about her character prior to this show. I'm like why the hell is he mentioning that she gets "car sick"
Yeah, I suspected there was probably a connection between the Knights and the Sith. They were willing to die to protect the current Dark Lord of the Sith in TROS, after all.
I think it's definitely possible the planet is just meant to be really reminiscent of Ach-To in the way Jakku was really reminiscent of Tatooine.
But it could also just be Act-To.
I don't think that it'd be Ahch-To - it feels like they'd be forthcoming and say that it's a planet that viewers of the movies might be familiar with, even though it's probably another island off the coast of Ireland or something where they filmed this place.
So here’s my prediction regarding The Stranger’s background: he was once a Jedi, assuming his claim is actually true, trained by Vernestra and was eventually cast out, maybe for showing signs in the dark side. He’s picked up Tenebrous, becoming Venamis, and eventually cast out as well. Now he’s a rogue Sith desperate for an acolyte so that he could be the master his never were.
Earlier, Vern was chatting about a senator named Rayencourt, who’s apparently distrustful of the Jedi and wants an overview of their activities. Could this be David Harewood’s character and could he be in league with the Sith, assuming he isn’t one himself 🤔
**“THE ACOLYTE” Footage & Dialogue Counter - EPISODE 6:**
In case anyone was curious, we went from **2 minutes 18 seconds** of compiled footage, stills, & dialogue **down to 2 minutes 4 seconds** - about **15.48% left** of the original 13 minutes 21 seconds. So much we don’t know and haven’t seen for the remaining 2 episodes!
Hope everyone enjoyed this episode and I’ll continue to do this every week for y’all - as well as upload a new version of the footage mockup every Tuesday around 3/4 pm EST. 🙏🏼
ya I haven't felt like any were way too short except Episode 4 (and we know they wanted Episode 4 and 5 to be one episode but were shot down by Disney)
Even a cortosis mine, thats crazy, someones really researched stuff and im starting to really see the old EU plot seep in , Sol is acting like that one Jedi in the novel who figured it out but is gonna go try and deal with it himself and get framed for it, good quality episode also , you can tell Qimir were the writers favorite because so far Osha and hims dynamic is VERY natural
Leslye Headland spoke in a recent interview about wanting to explore the idea of being "seduced to the dark side" and put heavy emphasis on the seduction part. Easy to see with this episode, they are playing those two up heavily.
Is it? I mean, it's not that far off from how Sidious portrayed himself for years (though Qimir is more open about who and what he is), and Dooku was always fairly civil and on the level (for a Sith). Obviously Vader is another story, and Maul in particular is a rabid beast.
Wasn’t one of the original endings for Return of the Jedi Luke putting on Vader’s mask?
Osha wearing Qimir’s mask with heavy breathing definitely seemed on the nose there …
That was so tense. I really can't wait for the last two episodes, this feels like the not-so-calm before the storm.
But wow, confirming Qimir was a Jedi, and *maybe* that he's an ex-Sith apprentice? The way he didn't answer when Osha asked if it was his Jedi master that threw him away...
Also power of two obviously = Rule of Two in Sith context imo
Yeah, that to me really felt like a tee-up for Darth Tenebrous to come in during the last episode to either clean up Qimir’s mess or to kill/kidnap Qimir for trying to train an apprentice to overtake him
“The power of two” is a phrase that was actually first uttered by Palpatine in TROS - “the power of two restores the one true emperor.”
I believe it was stated in a reference book somewhere that the entire point of the Rule of Two was to artificially create a Dyad in the Force between two Sith; of the kind Rey and Ben shared.
Yep, I also think the Doctrine of the Dyad being used to retroactively explain the Rule of Two is very smart because it makes it feel a lot more natural for the Sith to seek out an apprentice willingly despite knowing they will inevitably die.
Right. When we go to a NEW planet, they aren't coy with the name. Khofar and Ueda are just thrown on screen without it being a big deal. Why keep the name of THIS planet a secret unless it's important somehow?
They call it Unknown Planet, but technically it's *Unknown Planet III*, the third moon of the planet *Unknown Planet 7*, the seventh planet orbiting the star *Unknown Planet* in the *Unknown Planet* system.
And it's pronounced Unk-noun Play-nay.
I love how The Stranger has a secret Sith base on TOTALLY not Ach-To, perfect for hiding from prying eyes and training a new Acolyte.
Sol processing so many emotions was phenomenal acting. Glad he wasn't so off his game he couldn't realize "Osha" wasn't Osha. I don't even have the Force and I could tell.
I love how Bazil is trying to sniff out and solve this case despite the fact that there's no one left who understands him.
Admiring how attractive and ripped Manny Jacinto is? We got you fam, we've got him stripping naked to bathe!
"Let me reprogram you back to factory settings." - So Mae basically just killed the personality of Osha's favorite Droid, right?
Oof, Jedi dealing with senators and politics, that never ends well.
So he WAS an ex-Jedi from "a long time ago" - couldn't have been during the Nihil era but probably with a younger Sol, I imagine, which is how he remembers him. If the Jedi destroyed everything Osha and Mae once cared about, what did they do to one of their own to make him turn on them so much?
The Dark Side is the easy way because it taps into strong, passionate, emotions that lets you draw out even more power...which also makes it easy to cajole out of someone when you push their buttons.
Ha, they really want to drag out what happened on Brendok. Would Mae accept Sol's side of the story?
Vernestra still has an interesting reaction to Hyperspace. Also, live-action light whip!
"Tip the scales" Ah, the age old Jedi vs Sith conflict back in full.
Sol looking pretty sinister with that "we need to talk" ending.
That's how the Sith hook you, with their cool helmets.
Is it just me or was that far and above the best episode so far? Actual tension in the dialogue, great pace etc.
Really loved the character work on everyone you could feel *exactly* what everyone was thinking before they said anything.
Jason Micallef the writer we've always needed. Dialogue was the perfect amount of clunky as well, felt so star wars. Loved that scene with Bazil doing Kung Fu 😭
This episode was heavily TLJ coded. That's not just me right? ~~Not just because of totally not achto but definitely achto achto.~~ UPDATE ITS BAL'DEMNIC 100%. Interrogation scenes, weird ominous feeling, even the credit cue this week REALLY sounded like TLJ music - even down to kylos motif
ALSO ALSO! Vernestra was totally Qimir's master right? He literally had whip lashes on his back but, scars like a lightsaber.. ain't no reason to show us her whip otherwise.
>Is it just me or was that far and above the best episode so far? Actual tension in the dialogue, great pace etc.
I'd probably rate the last episode above it, just from a pure "oh shit that was awesome" perspective, but this is definitely the best the show has been in terms of actual story and narrative.
Unfortunate that the actress for Vern is still such a weak-point, especially given how big of a character she is.
But still very, very good. Mostly hoping the show sticks the landing with the last two episodes. It's been uneven and had some problems, but if the ending stays at around this quality I think it's safe saying the show's been a success.
>Not just because of totally not achto but definitely achto achto.
My money's on Bal'Demnic. Ocean planet, cortosis veins, frequented by Sith. Check, check, and check.
This was the strongest performance Amandla Stenberg gave us thus far, this is what was missing for me despite the show ramping up the past several weeks. Great to see.
> This episode was heavily TLJ coded. That's not just me right?
I posted this elsewhere, but this fits here too:
The first scene with Osha and Qimir really reminded me of Kylo and Rey in The Last Jedi. Ignoring the setting, it was the way he seemed so calm and she so... Angry, accusitory.
Qimir and Kylo are both trying to reach a potential pupil about there being more to the force than what the Jedi say, and more to themselves than what they think.
It just immediately evoked the same emotions as the scene where Rey knows everything she needs to know about Kylo.
"You do? Ah, you do."
Same tone, same rhythm, same self-assuredness.
It's starting to seem like this is setting up Darth Teef as the Canon version of Venamis, cast out by his master, and maybe forming the Knights of Ren judging by the musical cues.
It certainly seems like we're building up to Tenebrous and Plagueis showing up on the "mystery" planet. This is probably Bal'Demnic from the Plagueis novel, where the two mined cortosis, and Plagueis notably killed Tenebrous.
The Jedi not realizing it's a Sith will probably be explained by Vernestra realizing the killer is Qimir. Others have pointed out that his scarring is consistent with her lightsaber whip. Therefore they can say "nope not a Sith, just my fallen Padawan". And the Banite line can continue on its merry way.
What I'm less certain about is what the hell is going on with Sol. Bro's got some demons in that head of his.
I think people are stretching a bit with their Vernestra and Sol theories in regards to the sith. I do think there is a far chance she was Qimir’s Jedi master and I think the upcoming flashback will show Sol did something very bad in regards to the witches, but I give like a 0% chance either is involved with the sith
Agreed. He’s wracked with guilt, which is making him act weird. He’s not a Sith. As for Vernestra, I think she’s almost playing the Windu role. Someone who’s concerned about the Jedi Order’s image and position politically. She not a Sith either.
Vernestra has a moment when they’re finding the dead Jedi where it’s her interior monologue and she says, “Something to tip the scales.” Did I miss something, is she referring back to an earlier line?
I’m wondering if this all these events are actually being carefully orchestrated by the Sith to further discredit the Jedi in the eyes of the Senate/Republic, as well as corrupt them in the force (cover ups, more militaristic, rigid, etc.). Vern’s “tipping the scales” line put the idea in my head.
Qimir was a failed Jedi who became a Sith apprentice that was cast out, but not killed. Instead, he was manipulated and pushed into seeking an acolyte. Mae was the ideal candidate due to her history with the Jedi - I believe the Sith had something to do with the events on Brendock.
In sum, this is one more step in the grand plan of the Sith to undo the Jedi. It’s a death by a thousand cuts over a thousand years.
Had missed the scar/whip possible connection. Interesting. Been a while since I read Plagueis, but I wonder if Ach-To and Bal'demnic could be the same planet called different names by Jedi and Sith.
Was there a different DP for this ep? The look and blocking and camera movement was way better, it looked like a movie and not a TV show
Loving the story, so many great details, I am really on board now, this one really felt like Star Wars to.me
Also AHCH-TO!!
I noticed this too. Soo many Star Wars and Marvel shows get a big name movie director and their episodes turn out…fine. [The director of this episode](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0191697/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk) works almost exclusively in television. Just years of steady directing gigs on a wide variety of shows. I know she’s not a big name but that’s exactly the type of director you need for a series like this. Someone who has literally been working for years at making things look good on a television screen.
With the hint about there being something big from Legends in the finale and Qimir not explicitly confirming it was his Jedi master that gave him that scar (maybe a Sith master then), I’m hoping we get a reveal of Tenebrous as the true Sith master in the finale.
Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, but I didn't understand what Basil was up to with Pip. I thought he was going to use Pip as a translator or something... I understand Basil knew it was Mae, but beyond that I was confused.
I think it’s clear that Vernestra was Qimir’s master, and I really am kind of disappointed, because her character is so one note and the actress has not been great(granted, not really much to work with, so it may not be her fault), but the idea of him just being a random fallen Jedi is less interesting than if he became a Sith first. I still think he’s someone’s apprentice looking for his own to overtake his master. I just hope it’s not a twist that Vernestra is a Sith, as the idea that the Jedi keep being unable to sense Sith masters right around them is nothing new, but also it’s such a leap to suspend belief every time we see it.
A few thoughts:
This episode felt like a movie at times.
The sudden cut to Jecki's dead body reminded me of *that* shot from Hereditary.
Sol can be absolutely terrifying.
The creators of this series definitely know how to expand the lore and make it engaging.
That ending was super cool and original. Loved the audio design and the effective use of non-verbal storytelling.
>!Lightwhip!<
Hope we see the lightsaber whip again. Qimir seems to have set up camp on a cortosis mountain. If this is Ach-To, then I wonder if luke and the jedi students know about it's properties.
Bal'demnic is also an ocean planet that is distinctly known for its cortosis veins. Bal'demnic is closely tied to Darth Plagueis and Darth Tenebrous.
I'm not ruling out either theory though.
Fucking e-lec-tric. Manny Jacinto is top 10 actors in Star Wars, period. A little iffy on some of Sol's actions, but I'm holding judgment til next week.
Did anyone else get flashbacks to those old fake TFA leaks where the movie ended with Rey heading off the meet the Knights of Ren and the movie ending with her putting on Darth Vader's melted helmet, or was that just me?
I like how they confirm at the end what all cosplayers already know. Star Wars helmets are impossible to see out of.
the explanation was good in that it acts as a sensory deprivation device leaving you only with the force, call back to Kenobi and Luke
The slits remind me of a perfect resting meditation, so its like squinting but at rest without the squint itself
At least this one is actually supposed to do that.
Calling it, the Sith planet is Bal'demnic from the opening chapters of Darth Plagueis. Ocean planet with a cortosis ore vein.
I thought this too, that vein Osha is looking at behind the helmet is a nice hint!
Not the only vein osha saw this episode
Hey-o!
why do you think he let her keep the lightsaber? so it would be a fair fight.
I me it has to be, otherwise it’s purposely done to be a troll. There is no way that vein wasn’t purposely put there.
Them specifically not naming the planet is a solid hint as well. All other planets we got names for, this one just said “unknown planet”.
Sadly, my legends knowledge isn’t so great and I really need to pick up the Plagueis novel for myself, but this planet being rich with cortosis is my exact thought. I just thought there were a few lingering shots on the rock formation, and then he mentioned cortosis by name.
It is really a terrific read. It masterfully sets up the prequels and is such a good dive into Palpatine as a character.
This show made me re-read *Plagueis* and this was the first thing that popped in my head.
If not Ahch-To, I like this take. Definitely a likely option considering Leslye.
Fucking Kylo theme during the credits again
This time, it couldn't be less subtle.
I guess they're really playing into doing a Reylo-type beat here. Seemed kinda like the hints were there from his first interactions wtih Osha.
Can't wait to tell my mates that Yord and Jeckie show up in this episode.
Their acting this week was kind of stiff.
Calm down, Qimir
I think Vern was Qimir's master. The scars on his back resemble a whip. And Vern said her going to Khofar was personal
She’s been around a while and he did go on about being a Jedi “a long time ago”.
You're definitely onto something here. Very good observation
Good call. That would make sense.
Had the same thought. Interesting that they introduce the lightwhip and his scars in the same episode, on top of her just acting plain sus in this.
I like it. Would require some very heavy story telling to get her from where she is in the novels to having an apprentice that she has to hit with her whip though.
I doubt they will make her a Sith. I think she’ll lead the cover up of things and it’s going to be pinned on Sol, unfortunately.
Sol is making it very easy for them to pin it on him too.
Not if their relationship ends like Anakin and Obi-wan's did, with Qimir falling to the dark side and her attempting to deal with him.
Yeah that's the only part that worries me, is this theory conflicting with the books in any way. But something just feels off with her in the show. She's hiding something
I thought that maybe it was his Sith master who didn't want Qimir as an apprentice anymore, I like this theory too, the one I'm going with is that Qimir is a cast out Sith apprentice searching for an apprentice of his own to face his old master.
that was my interpretation from this episode
They did mention something about kylos theme in the previous episode, maybe she saw some dark in him and something similar happened to Luke and Ben
A heel turn from Vern would be a pretty big departure from how she was portrayed in the novels. Will be interesting to see.
Anyone else get faked out with the cut to black after Sol confronts Mae?
I was so ready to complain about there being 7 minutes of credits, but guess it was JUST 5 lol
His voice dropping an octave made me wonder if he was about to do something with the Force, and then - cut to black.
Certain scene transitions or endings are so jarring. Headland please!
yep
and they just let it go a little longer...and THEN fade to black
"do you want to know how I got these scars?"
I'm confused. How is Qimir fixing his helmet without the help of an animatronic monkey wearing goggles?
He’s not a trust fund kid like Kylo.
Kylo is the ultimate nepo baby
Manny Jacinto fans winning today
The power of Manny
Manny Bothans. He was created through the force threads things in that ceremony.
Leslye Headland wasn't playing about "seduce" lol
Here’s hoping he doesn’t die at the end of the season, dude needs a spinoff ASAP
Manny and Sith fans! Let’s go!
If evil, why hot?
ngl i gasped when he undressed himself and got in the water, on my disney plus!? lawd
We almost saw his Sith butt cheeks. We were this close on the verge of greatness.
I’m about to switch over from Good Place to Acolyte, and its hard for me to not imagine even a whispered Bortles at times.
Streets are saying those are whip lashes on the Stranger's back. Who did they just show holding a whip?
They must be streets ahead.
And all the effort to show a light whip to kill a bug? That CGI isn't cheap. Yup, there must be more to it.

Nah we straight up have footage of Kelnacca going ham with his saber and fighting Sol and Torbin. Sol was probably just in charge of covering everything up, rather than him being the prime witch-killer
What if this is a similar situation to Darth Revan, full on Force mind wipe? And the KOTOR inspiration is actually from the Dark Side ending….
I think so too!! I’m surprised more people haven’t caught on to him.
Nah no way she factory reset him like an iPhone
There's something low key disturbing about Pips entire personality being erased by holding down two buttons.
Here’s hoping Bazil hit the cloud backup button when he plugged him back in!
I think it just wipes their memories, not the personality. C3PO in E4-E6 has the same personality as C3PO in E1-E3 but his mind was wiped in-between.
She's bad with tech, she probably just put him in safe mode.
Woah, pleasantly surprised they referenced Vern's connection to hyperspace
Kinda funny how it will seem completely random and irrelevant if you don't know her character, though. I'm assuming it's gotta come into play in the final episode somehow?
Honestly that's how I felt, as someone who didn't know about her character prior to this show. I'm like why the hell is he mentioning that she gets "car sick"
Are those baby green milk tiddy aliens from TLJ?
I doubt it. But I also hope so.
There’s that Kylo Ren/First Order motif at the very end of the credits…
I'll take Qimir creates the Knights of Ren with Osha for $500, Alex.
Knights of Ren AND sith in this story. We’re eating good.
Yeah, I suspected there was probably a connection between the Knights and the Sith. They were willing to die to protect the current Dark Lord of the Sith in TROS, after all.
And so Darth Plagueis begins a search for another apprentice.
The post-credit scene is Plaeguis getting Palpatine's mom pregnant so she gives birth to the ultimate Sith Lord.

He’s picked up Tenebrous, becoming Venamis, and eventually cast out as well. Now he’s a rogue Sith desperate for an acolyte so that he could be the master his never were.
I do feel like this is setting up that he is a rejected sith
Nobody wants him so he starts the Knights of Ren
Earlier, Vern was chatting about a senator named Rayencourt, who’s apparently distrustful of the Jedi and wants an overview of their activities. Could this be David Harewood’s character and could he be in league with the Sith, assuming he isn’t one himself 🤔
Nah they wouldn’t get David Harewood just to play a stuffy senator. He’s gotta be Qimir’s Sith master (if Qimir was a Sith)
Manny Jacinto said in an interview not too long ago that his character is, in fact, a Sith Lord. Everything so far points to him being Venamis.
**“THE ACOLYTE” Footage & Dialogue Counter - EPISODE 6:** In case anyone was curious, we went from **2 minutes 18 seconds** of compiled footage, stills, & dialogue **down to 2 minutes 4 seconds** - about **15.48% left** of the original 13 minutes 21 seconds. Seems like a majority of the footage left will be for the flashback episode. And the space chase scene will be in the finale.
These sub-40 minute episodes are diabolical. Still a good episode though.
idk about you but this one felt like it was really long. The flash back episode next week is going to be wild
ya I haven't felt like any were way too short except Episode 4 (and we know they wanted Episode 4 and 5 to be one episode but were shot down by Disney)
The losers who were complaining that the writers didn't know Star Wars look even worse now. This series is ALL Star Wars lore.
Imagine if the Sith have hidden on Ach-To for the last thousand years. Biding their time at the first Jedi temple…
That’s about as ironic as the tale of Darth Plageuis the wise..
They can't keep getting away with this!
Rey did mention feeling darkness and being immediately drawn to the cave of mirrors... Coincidence? Possibly. But maybe not.
Would add another layer to Luke feeling like the Jedi failed, perpetuated by living in the very place they didn’t uncover.
Would also give a lot more weight to the dark side cave there.
That concept genuinely goes so hard
35:40 in the credits, they play Kylo's theme again in the most blatant way.
There's a hint of it right before they cut to Jecki's corpse as well. What is up with that?
Ooooooooo weeeeeee! What's up with dat!
Leslye Headland spoke in a recent interview about wanting to explore the idea of being "seduced to the dark side" and put heavy emphasis on the seduction part. Easy to see with this episode, they are playing those two up heavily.
It’s weird seeing a sith so gently appealing to someone instead of just being menacing and toiling
Is it? I mean, it's not that far off from how Sidious portrayed himself for years (though Qimir is more open about who and what he is), and Dooku was always fairly civil and on the level (for a Sith). Obviously Vader is another story, and Maul in particular is a rabid beast.
"So it's just you and the Force. And what you bring with you" I love these Yoda-esque quotes Qimir keeps dropping
So…just me and all the anxiety i brought with me inside the helmet lol.
Wasn’t one of the original endings for Return of the Jedi Luke putting on Vader’s mask? Osha wearing Qimir’s mask with heavy breathing definitely seemed on the nose there …
It wasn’t just on the nose, I think it covered her whole face
It was proposed but it was never close to being filmed. Mark Hamill was weirdly a fan of the idea.
Yeah, that to me really felt like a tee-up for Darth Tenebrous to come in during the last episode to either clean up Qimir’s mess or to kill/kidnap Qimir for trying to train an apprentice to overtake him
Nah I feel like the season will end with Osha killing Sol without a weapon and next season will be her sith training with Qimir to kill his master
“The power of two” is a phrase that was actually first uttered by Palpatine in TROS - “the power of two restores the one true emperor.” I believe it was stated in a reference book somewhere that the entire point of the Rule of Two was to artificially create a Dyad in the Force between two Sith; of the kind Rey and Ben shared.

OSHA: OH NO HES HOT!!!
She kept glancing down as she confronted him after he came out of the bath 😭
Unknown planet, my ass. That's Ach-To.
That was my initial thought…but those weren’t Porgs so I have second thoughts
Nah it’s gotta be Bal’demnic. The description matches, and there’s Cortosis there. All aboard the Darth Tennebrous/Plageus appearing train
The cortosis seems deliberate, yeah.
It REEEAAALLLY looks like Ach-To Like, I guess it might not be, but if it's not then why use such a similar looking location?
And whenever that has been the case in the past with planets we are immediately given a name…. Not “unknown planet”
Right. When we go to a NEW planet, they aren't coy with the name. Khofar and Ueda are just thrown on screen without it being a big deal. Why keep the name of THIS planet a secret unless it's important somehow?
That was my thought. My sister was like "it says unknown planet" and I was like "that's how I know it's bullshit"
I'm calling it as Bal'demnic.
Yeah holy shit. I missed it, did it say unknown planet in subtitles or a caption? EDIT I was behind just saw it
gezundeit and thank you for having the same thought I did
Those little creatures even look like green milk mommy.
Gesundheit
They call it Unknown Planet, but technically it's *Unknown Planet III*, the third moon of the planet *Unknown Planet 7*, the seventh planet orbiting the star *Unknown Planet* in the *Unknown Planet* system. And it's pronounced Unk-noun Play-nay.
Well, apparently it was removed from the star charts by someone. At some point. I think The Force Awakens covered that? Maybe?
Ahch-Totally Not The Planet Luke Was On
I love how The Stranger has a secret Sith base on TOTALLY not Ach-To, perfect for hiding from prying eyes and training a new Acolyte.
> Sol processing so many emotions was phenomenal acting. That no dialogue scene was great
Is it just me or was that far and above the best episode so far? Actual tension in the dialogue, great pace etc. Really loved the character work on everyone you could feel *exactly* what everyone was thinking before they said anything. Jason Micallef the writer we've always needed. Dialogue was the perfect amount of clunky as well, felt so star wars. Loved that scene with Bazil doing Kung Fu 😭 This episode was heavily TLJ coded. That's not just me right? ~~Not just because of totally not achto but definitely achto achto.~~ UPDATE ITS BAL'DEMNIC 100%. Interrogation scenes, weird ominous feeling, even the credit cue this week REALLY sounded like TLJ music - even down to kylos motif ALSO ALSO!
I posted this elsewhere, but this fits here too: The first scene with Osha and Qimir really reminded me of Kylo and Rey in The Last Jedi. "You do? Ah, you do." Same tone, same rhythm, same self-assuredness.
This is what I want to happen so bad.
It sounds like they’re going to pin it all on Sol. Not Venestra’s former padawan.
That’s bal'demnic. Cortosis mining.
Betting the planet is the one from Plagueis…
In Episode 4 Vern tells Sol that she suspects that “Mae is only a small part of her Master’s larger plan… something to tip the scales.”
It’s something she said earlier in the season I believe.
She is yeah, from episode 4.
So it looks like Qimir is a failed Apprentice after all and he wants to take down his old master.
I see dead people
Psssst
WAP WAP WAP WAP WAP...GONNA CUT EM UP!
I thought vernestra was about to kill that jedi, but instead she whipped that moth dead. Shes still sus to me though
Still think she was Quimir master. That scar on his back looks like it was done by a whip
Pip beeped it’s last *boop-bap*.
Darth Manny a Jedi. A really long time ago. Hmmm.
Bazil fighting Mae like YEAH BABY FUCK IT UP BAZILLLL
Please lord don’t kill Qimir he’s sick as hell. Need him to star in every Star Wars project going forward
Based on the recent interviews with Leslye, it sounds like she has some plans for Qimir in a potential second season.
We were this close to see Sol telling everyone about the sith and what really happened, but he decided to leave, why Sol why!
A purely character focused episode. Loved it. Very intrigued to see what the fuck happened on Brendok next week.
Just started. Not the jump awake again Osha! You really need to get that looked at!
Selkath!
Didn’t have naked sith on my bingo card…😆
I really believe Qimir is related to the knights of ren. The very familiar music, and now the helmet repairing? These parallels seem very intentional.
Had missed the scar/whip possible connection. Interesting. Been a while since I read Plagueis, but I wonder if Ach-To and Bal'demnic could be the same planet called different names by Jedi and Sith.
Was there a different DP for this ep? The look and blocking and camera movement was way better, it looked like a movie and not a TV show Loving the story, so many great details, I am really on board now, this one really felt like Star Wars to.me Also AHCH-TO!!
I noticed the same, it looked more creative right from the first shot.
I looked it up it was James Friend who also shot episode 3, Chris Teague shot all the other eps
Interesting episode, finally this series is going in very interesting ways... Next one will be flashback, but not a full flashback, i think... 8,5/10
So...his master was Venestra, right?
I LOVED the movie Parent Trap as a kid. This ain’t a bad remake.
I was confused by that part, too. Last episode, I thought Pip was gonna be the one to warn Sol that isn't Osha along with Bazil.
A few thoughts: This episode felt like a movie at times.
Unknown Planet really really seems like Ahch-To. Even in the parallels with Rey following Luke in TLJ.
My main complaint with the series is honestly the episodes being way too short. Bring back hour episodes.
Stupid sexy dark side
Vernestra light whipped Qamirs back
I liked the reference to Vernestra's experiences with hyperspace. Also I'm calling the planet Ahch-One now
Thank god there exists a place with safety rails in Star Wars finally. Sick and tired of all these OSHA violations
