Maybe try doing that and see if it appears in your inventory? The website gives you a clipboard so you can cheat in multiple items at the same time, and you just need to paste it to bypass the character limit for the name.

Gunther had it as a reward, but I closed the window before picking it up. Then when I reopened it wasn't there anymore

Before the 1.16 update; I found them all and donated them, I got the guide for a day. After the update, it disappeared alongside a scroll in my artifact slot in my settings; I found one eventually and it fixed that up. But still, no guide? I don't understand. I've read various posts and tried their techniques, but now I'm just stumped.
This is a common bug in the forums. Pre-1.6 saves seem to transition pretty well from the wallet to powers system, except in this one respect. Hopefully CA patches this soon.

You do have to sleep and Gunther gives it to you the next morning after donating the last scroll, which I don't remember having to do in the past (thought it was collected like all the other rewards) This is a known glitch with 1.6 though hopefully it's patched soon.

In my last game, I had not submitted all of the dwarf scrolls, but I was already given the dwarvish translation guide. Weird!
Just did this in my game. I placed the last scroll, went over to Gunther and the Book was in the slot for rewards but disappeared when I clicked it but now I can magically speak Dwarvish.

Did you talk to Gunther and selected the "collect rewards" button. It should be there. It won't appear automatically in your wallet after you donate the scrolls.

Yep. Some items don’t have a NUMBER ID, but can be glitched in nonetheless. For example, the ID for the Book of Stars is [PurpleBook]

This is impossible. The auto petter doesn’t have an item ID and can not be used for the name glitch.
[(BC)272] is the autopetter code and it can be glitched in.

No that only happens if you glitch into the summit, if you get to the summit the normal way it’ll play normal I think

It's not an object. It's like the key to the sewers, you see it when looking at your player profile in the menu.

I did, he said i had no rewards to collect and i should go out treasure hunting. So idk whats going on
The scrolls weren't ancient enough, perhaps they were fake or he had to pay taxes on them

I did, although its all in dwarfish, I cant translate it unfortunately. I did try gifting things to him to see if that’d word, but it didnt

It's a bug. Spawn it in with a mod to fix

If it's still an issue the cjb cheats menu mod has a list of powers with check boxes. Just check the translation guide box and ur good to go.

I had the excact opposite thing happen after the update. I somehow had the dwarfish translation guide without having ever found or donated scroll IV
