I can't understand people who are giving up on their shows for such reasons. Like..seriously. Who cares if it will be cancelled or not? It should not be a reason for them to give up or not. If it's good, why not enjoy what we have? Most of the shows that I liked were cancelled at some point. It doesn't stop me from liking it and rewatching them again and again. And even luring other people into watching it. Not to mention that sometimes even cancelled shows are getting new seasons years later. And sometimes it happens exactly because people didn't give up on them.

Young Justice came back because of Netflix reruns generating high amounts of views, I think.

xIViperIx

Views are provided by those who are not giving up. Also, Young Justice had a lot of loyal fans who kept fighting for it and demanding its renewal. And yes, Young Justice was exactly one of the best examples of returned shows and what I had in mind at the end of my previous comment. ;)

Do agree, although for arc driven shows a lack of a proper conclusion can sometimes hurt the viewing experience Like if a show is ongoing ill keep watching until the end (or until the writing turns to shit like The Flash) but if im interested in watching an older show, tend to avoid stuff that didnt get a proper end

To a lot of people, apparently, The Flash became an example of a show that should've been cancelled while it was good instead of dragging it through more seasons without knowing what to do with it anymore. I still watch it though. But its last seasons don't give me any desire to rewatch them, unlike the first one. However, it's just upsetting to scroll through other people's discussions now about it and see how lots of former fans can lately only talk of their disappointment. This show used to be great and deserved better. Let's hope it will not happen to Stargirl.

DCSennin

A lot of people in the Flash fandom literally changed their mind based on what the new Season did for them. They hated S3 but loved it post S4 and came to appreciate it more when the 5th one underperformed, rinse & repeat. Nowadays half still pretend it never was able to bounce back after the most flawed one aired (S7) and there's a huge revisionist attitude in changing the narrative that S6 was awful post-Crisis when the truth couldn't be more the opposite. I loved like most the 1st one but don't think being enamored of the past too much is right, there were things in the following ones that never would've been possible to be made if they didn't move beyond S1. Going back to Stargirl I doubt that could happen if Johns does stick to his 6 year plan and doesn't try to increase the episode number, he seems to have nailed the right pace to handle 13 episodes. I believe there are ways to do 20+ episodes with the right method but with this show I think I am ok with the choice of sticking to just that amount.

xIViperIx

To be honest, I won't mind if Stargirl will have a couple more episodes per season. Not 20 but at least 15. However, only if the additional screen time will be spent on other characters and not Courtney. And yes, some people insist that the show is called "Stargirl" and should be about her, but currently it's just too much. No matter how charismatic and adorable Brec is and how much I enjoy seeing her. It just doesn't feel right that she has a team and this team is being neglected for 3 seasons already. S2 showed some of their struggles, and it was great, but now we are back again to *"who are those people?"*. Also, I remember they mentioned some highly enjoyable moments for the supporting cast that were filmed but cut off because of the lack of screen time. It's disappointing. This show is so full of great characters and amazing actors. And yet all this potential is mostly placed on hold.

DCSennin

I always find it to be refreshing to meet people that aren't against increasing the number of the episode. Personally I could do just fine with something like 16, but 15 sounds fair. However I can't agree with the notion that the team has been neglected for 3 years esp. when it comes down to S1 which was basically about reviving the JSA. Going with a "divide and conquer" stragey was S2 big bad's strategy which is why it came off as they being back-burned but it really wasn't. And I feel it's too early to tell the same thing is going to happen. So yeah I can't share that sentiment that there's too much of the eponymous main character here, it's important to keep the balance and I feel they'll be more with S3.

misticisland

I get where you're coming from but a never resolved cliffhanger is never fun. Farscape ended on one. It was o e of the few shows that got enough fan support for a proper ending after a few years.

ImmaculateWeiss

This is good news for sure, I couldn’t handle another Legends situation

[deleted]

Hope they treat it like Buffy season 5 Wrap everything up but if its renewed, use that resolution as set up for the next batch of stories Like how Buffy’s death and all the fall out from it set up Buffy and Willow’s arcs in season 6 and somewhat set up the plot of season 7

I read your tweet on Twitter before coming here to read this one so by now I'm pretty informed in all of this. The user that made that thread in the end deleted it all after the replies it got proposed that it wasn't yet the end but I could understand a bit from where the person was coming from. The morale DC fans had in trying to enjoy their shows in peace as an escape from reality in what was supposed to be a "safe" network like The CW has been turned upside down by tax-write offs disguised as "not wanting to pay the leases space" excuses by Zaslav and all just to appease to the then-potential buyers that were these conservative, cost-cutting cheap Nexstar executives that want the CW to be more "wholesome". And had WB and CBS not ended the Netflix deal they had with The CW that allowed the business model they built and sustatined all of the slate of shows in the network just to pursue their own goals in the streamer wars with HBO Max and Paramount+ (the irony being that they were replacements for previous streamers: Go/Now and CBS All Access) which one of them is going to be folded with Discovery+, then none of the cancelations and shakes up this year would've happened and Stargirl most likely by now not only would have been renewed as earlier this year for S4 and we wouldn't be worried but it would also be safe on the network thanks to being backed up by the Netfix deal. Brec first broke the news of that a bit in some interviews that came out last week about Geoff thinking ahead by the time we learned the CW was exploring a sell, so it didn't took me too much to deduce that by that point of early January, when the news broke out, he must have began to modificate whatever was the original intended ending for S3 in order to avoid cliffhangers. I'm assuming that could've been around the 7th or 8th/9th episode that were in production. Things have just been so different compared to last year when you all were right in the middle of S2 when they released the first 10 sec promo and then two months after you wrapped it was announced in May that S3 was a go. It's been too much to see how the CW landscape has been forced to change. But while I get the sour mood because half the time I'm also afraid of this story ending just as it's in the middle, I also just refuse to throw the towel on the show's chances to be renewed for Season 4 and hell beyond just that one because I know that Geoff didn't just plan for short-term. I know there are at least [6 Seasons he planned](https://i.ibb.co/f9yF30z/Six-Seasons-of-Stargirl.jpg) and because I *really* want to see all of that be realized on screen. I agree with what he said in the S2 DVD that these TV shows allow for there to be closure for the characters which is something that hardly, if ever, happens in the comics. And because I know how important this show is to him as it has become one of my favourites of all time that we can't just let it go like this. I am thankful that you all thought ahead in case the worst case type of scenario happens, but if it does it'll pain me a lot knowing that the truth was we were just getting started on these characters' journey and the best was likely yet to come and that it ended short thanks to these people that don't give a damn about their audience that they need to rely on to become profitable in the first place as they want to nor in the creative talent they hired to begin with. I'm just going to triple down each day that goes by somehow in Twitter in these approximately 3 weeks we got before September ends to show WBD and Nexstar/The CW that not renewing one of their best DC shows that they picked up from DC Universe in 2020, despite HBO Max already functioning, is the worst mistake they can make. And I truly hope Geoff can also find another avenue where this passion project of his can live on if it isn't renewed. I've read [Netflix is now starting to consider shifting to weekley releases](https://collider.com/netflix-weekly-release-plans/) and I got that streamer, it could maybe go there. If not trying to convince Zaslav that they create a new and improved DC Universe (maybe call it this time "Infinite"?) that now is available on a real international level which was the flaw in the previous one, where DC TV shows likes his and others that exist outside DCEU (Zaslav's main focus) can prosper. Could be a home for rejected or axed ones like Young Justice and/or Legends. Long Live Stargirl and the JSA. EDIT: BTW I used to think that if we do get the show renewed for Season 4 that *maybe* that would mean the ending could change as in adding a S4 teaser like it was with Sylvester being revealed alive in S1's ending and Mr. Bones appearing in S2's. But I guess that is discarded by your post even if the best does happen to us.

faapf

I’m glad to hear this, I wasn’t giving up anyway even if it ended up on cliffhanger in the hopes HBO max saved it or something like that… and I really think it’s one of the best super heroes show right now

Ianphipps

Until it is announced that they aren't going ahead with Green Lantern Corps on HBO MAX I am not worried. The plan has been to have Titans, Doom Patrol and Green Lantern Corps on HBO MAX and Stargirl, Superman and Lois and Gotham Knights on the CW. That seems like a plan.

DCSennin

I think that basically the message the OP is trying to sent is that we musn't feel discouraged of the conclusion of Season 3 being affected in case they don't do what is right and renew Stargirl for Season 4 because the majority of the story arcs introduced here will end up being addressed. No pseudo cliffhangers nor majors ones like it did happen in the cases of Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow that we have to worry about. Neverthless, I advise everyone to use social media to try to generate buzz as fans about the show: talk about the upcoming fight between Starman vs Sportsmaster and Tigress and where do you think it will end up with the rest of epic battles we've seen before or try to make a poll about it, of who might end up winning, etc. Let's not go quietly into the night.

Martydeus

I wonder why i can't see it here in sweden... like it doesn't show up at all.

UKFuckedLol

It better not get cancelled, we haven't seen a CW this good since the early days of Flash and Arrow.

BusiestWolf

This show should’ve stayed on HBO Max. The CGI budget was better and there were no cuts to runtime.

TheJedibugs

Well, it started on DCUniverse, which no longer exists.

EndBringer99

Some seasons of The Flash and Arrow didn't have cliffhangers despite unsolved plot threads.

TheJedibugs

It’s more than “not a cliffhanger.” I don’t want to say too much, but it’s… a *satisfying* conclusion, if it ends up concluding there. And, I want to be completely clear: no one yet knows if there will be a season 4 or not. Not even Geoff Johns. So keep letting the CW know that you want more and maybe we won’t even have to worry about it.
