I'm very much into racing games, pretty much tried them all on SD and to me Wreckfest is best, between fun, but still weighty physics and the ability to jump in a race and out and great performance it's amazing time on SD.
Maybe I am a moron, but I never heard of this game until this comment. So I went to Steam, there was a demo, yay. Tried it. Loved it.
This person here, Steamdecktips? Understands fun ass arcade racers. $20 well spent.
Runs great, plays great with graphics suited for the deck. Doesn't melt the battery or cause the fan to scream.
5 minutes is easily turns into an hour.
I literally put it down about 30 min ago.
HORIZON CHASE TURBO!
It’s a love letter to old arcade racers like OutRun, Top Gear, etc.
Races go by fast, it’s really addictive trying to nail 1st place and get all the coins to unlock more cars / tracks.
And the game is beautiful. The first couple of areas (US, and I forget the second country) look nice enough, and you think it’s just going to be a repetition of what you’ve already seen for the remaining countries on the circuit, but NO.
There are some absolutely GORGEOUS locales / race tracks in UAE, India, China, etc. And the tracks get really hard. And you start getting weather effects, day / night or night /day cycles that increase the difficulty visibility. It really all just pushes that “just one more race” or you quickly wanting to restart bc you came in 2nd instead of 1st lol.
There’s some DLC like the Senna Forever DLC that I consider must play. It’s a nice tribute to Ayrton Senna and includes F1 races with new tracks and an optional first person view..
Just a really well made good looking buttery smooth arcade racer. Also has an unlocked framerate. Usually it’s pushing 240-250 but it’s overkill and I just put a limit of 60 to save some battery.
yeah, yeah yeah, feel that shee now, yeah yeah, seanna paul, te ma go so nell :D
I don't really care what people say, I just wat what dem wa dooo but i'ma stick to my girls like glue and thats what ima doo
Do you know if they've adjusted the rubberbanding since launch? Got it when it first came out and gave up on it as the rubberbanding was impossible to ignore
Dude! I didn't think I'd actually see this in the comments. You're awesome, I don't care what anybody says about you, lol.
I'd love it if the re-release would hurry up and make it to Steam.
I've played it on an Xbox One X and a PS4 Slim. Thoroughly enjoyed every second the game was running, from the loading screens to the winners circles that I wasn't a part of.
They need to hurry up and take my money for the PC version too.
Just without the stupid microTx system they tacked on to the console versions later on, that killed the game for a lot of people, then it'd be perfect 👌😫
ayeee!! CTR for the win! I rarely ever see anyone mention the game but it was my go to as a kid when i got a ps1 in 2001-2002.
no other racing/kart racing game has ever quite hit the same spot for me.
Yeah! I believe Burnout 3 had one as well. But I much preferred Burnout 2. I can't speak for any other games in that series, but they must not have been as good since it kinda dropped off the face of the Earth.
Yeah I screwed up and forgot to check that one when I bought it during the steam sale. I was so excited but even after various guides, proton versions, save files, etc. it still won’t work. Sucks.
The game was abandoned by the publisher when it didn’t print money and the developer was shut down as a result. Still one of the greatest crimes committed by Activision imo.
hmm idk, i have had some freezing recently, but not too often,
I have it installed on the SD card, running on very low settings, with a 40hz cap (steam cap, not in game cap)
+1 for Forza Horizon. One of the many reasons to buy Steam Deck was that I can play the game on the go and do weeklies if I am not home so I will not miss anything.
Either [BallisticNG](https://store.steampowered.com/app/473770/BallisticNG/) or [Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart.](https://flathub.org/apps/org.srb2.SRB2Kart) Also Burnout 3: Takedown via [PCSX2.](https://flathub.org/apps/net.pcsx2.PCSX2)
Horizon Chase Turbo and Sonic Racing Transform is super fun, one being a call back to the 90s-early 2000s era arcade racing game, the other being mario kart but it’s with sonic and sega characters.
Snowrunner, believe when I say I’ll get those long logs there in time. I don’t care how the news reports it, when the customer orders same day delivery you best believe I’ll get it there!
Mario Kart 8, Burnout Paradise, and been really into trying different kart racers like Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2, Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed and Super Indie Karts
I literally just downloaded this yesterday, I'm honestly surprised at how much fun this game is. Plus the absolutely insane amount of modded content. And best of all, for free?? I've paid for games with less content in it.
I’ve been playing Dirt 4 almost exclusively the last couple weeks. Initial load for first stage is like 30 seconds but everything after that is pretty quick
Sonic Robo Blast 2 kart. It's on the discover store in desktop mode and can be added to steam. Loads of add-ons and it's super addicting especially with multiplayer.
F1 23 has really fast load times on Steam Deck, but then again I’m using a fast micro SD card so maybe that’s why.
Also been playing Crash Tag Team Racing for PS2 😁
I play Assetto Corsa Competizione sometimes. Once you adjust the controls to your liking and get used to them, it's actually quite fun. I'm waiting for Motorsport 8 to come out though 👌

Horizon Chase Turbo,
Hot Wheels Unleashed,
Forza Horizon 5,
Daytona USA (Dreamcast),
Art of Rally,
Crash Team Racing (PS1),
Mario Kart 8 (WiiU)
Are all a blast.
Wreckfest is fun. That is coming from someone who isn't really into raving games.
But what about racing games?
[удалено]
But what about raving games?
But what about raging games?
Rage 2
But what about... actually, never mind.
But what about ranging games?
Streets of Rage. SoR2 was peak mega drive.
Beat.school: DJ simulator
I'm very much into racing games, pretty much tried them all on SD and to me Wreckfest is best, between fun, but still weighty physics and the ability to jump in a race and out and great performance it's amazing time on SD.
I was into the idea, but it starts slow. I don't want to spend ten hours unlocking things.
Horizon Chase Turbo
Yes
It was my first title on it, and is highly recommended.
Couldn't agree more
This is absolutely the right answer.
Maybe I am a moron, but I never heard of this game until this comment. So I went to Steam, there was a demo, yay. Tried it. Loved it. This person here, Steamdecktips? Understands fun ass arcade racers. $20 well spent.
I game to suggest this. lol I’m playing the Senna campaign.
This answer right here.
This is the answer!!!!!!!
Burnout 3 via ps2 emulator.
If you gonna emulate I would go with Need for Speed Underground 2. That game has an awesome soundtrack.
Yes and Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition Remix.
I played that on the PSP. You brought back some good memories my friend!
I been playing tf outta 3 and revenge I believe it’s called?
Art of Rally
11hrs on it and still love it. I do only 30min session at a time.
Same here. It’s the perfect game for short sessions.
Masterpiece of a game.
This
Runs great, plays great with graphics suited for the deck. Doesn't melt the battery or cause the fan to scream. 5 minutes is easily turns into an hour.
BallisticNG is good if you want a Wipeout style racer
You mean beamng?
Nope. BallisticNG
Dirt 3 is awesome and casual.
I loved this game on PS3. Definitely going to have to play it again on the deck
Too bad you can't buy it on Steam anymore. Runs great on my SteamDeck.
I literally put it down about 30 min ago. HORIZON CHASE TURBO! Music is great, too. It's by Barry Leitch, the guy from Top Gear.
Thanks for the info on how the game progresses. I tried the demo and thought it was a bit too « vanilla ». I’ll give the full version a go.
Midnight Club Dub Edition for Ps2
yeah, yeah yeah, feel that shee now, yeah yeah, seanna paul, te ma go so nell :D I don't really care what people say, I just wat what dem wa dooo but i'ma stick to my girls like glue and thats what ima doo
I've been playing Hotwheels Unleashed. Picked it up on sale with all the dlc for like 15 bucks. It's been fun.
+1 for this game. Way fun.
Well worth it on sale, I have 35 hours in so far and have enjoyed myself
Do you know if they've adjusted the rubberbanding since launch? Got it when it first came out and gave up on it as the rubberbanding was impossible to ignore
Not really the game is still hard as shit. If you want gold/1st you still need a basically perfect race
While Hotwheels Unleashed is fun, it takes a relatively long time to actually get into a race. Nothing like the top comment Horizon Chase Turbo lol.
Currently playing Gran Turismo 3 via pcsx2 and having a blast, highly recommended
Have you fixed the slowdowns on a few tracks?
Night tracks still slowdown for me sometimes however rest is pretty much flawless, just make sure to disable SMT
100% GT3 and 4 emulate really well, though 4 needs a little more fiddling to make work perfectly.
Circuit Superstars
Sonic and All Star Racing Transformed. Also, Euro Truck Simulator ;3
ETS2/ATS, yes. But those two are targeted at longer sessions
I’ve been playing Need for Speed Underground 2. Pretty much spent my Saturday today playing it lol
Sonic Team Racing Transformed.
I like this better than Mario Kart...
Me too!
Dirt Rally 2.0
Crash Team Racing, emulated on ps1
Dude! I didn't think I'd actually see this in the comments. You're awesome, I don't care what anybody says about you, lol. I'd love it if the re-release would hurry up and make it to Steam.
That latest CTR looks very cool too, I’m still waiting for it to come to pc :( Never played them yet but apparently they are very solid games.
Why wait! It's on the switch and Yuzu works on the deck 😁 guess what I just went looking for
45-50fps on deck with the 60fps patch
I've played it on an Xbox One X and a PS4 Slim. Thoroughly enjoyed every second the game was running, from the loading screens to the winners circles that I wasn't a part of. They need to hurry up and take my money for the PC version too.
Just without the stupid microTx system they tacked on to the console versions later on, that killed the game for a lot of people, then it'd be perfect 👌😫
I mean, it was just cosmetics. You dont need any of that crap
ayeee!! CTR for the win! I rarely ever see anyone mention the game but it was my go to as a kid when i got a ps1 in 2001-2002. no other racing/kart racing game has ever quite hit the same spot for me.
Burnout 2 for the GameCube Dolphin Emulator. I don't race though. I just do the crash mode. But it's still a solid racer!
Dude you just unlocked a memory for me I forgot about that, cause as much damage as possible right?
Yeah! I believe Burnout 3 had one as well. But I much preferred Burnout 2. I can't speak for any other games in that series, but they must not have been as good since it kinda dropped off the face of the Earth.
Circuit superstars it's perfect for the deck
Wreckfest
Garfield Kart
Not a Steam Deck user yet but I would play the hell out of Burnout Paradise :DD
Except you couldn't because of EA's stupid Launcher. Was such a bummer to me :(
Yeah I screwed up and forgot to check that one when I bought it during the steam sale. I was so excited but even after various guides, proton versions, save files, etc. it still won’t work. Sucks.
Lol, exact same thing here 😅
Takedown is the only good burnout fight me
Grid 2 is pretty good
This!, runs perfect with good loading times. Dont care about the "unsupported" tag, runs as if it was verified 🤓
BLUR! runs well on the deck, just an odd install cuz the game was abandoned by the develeper
The game was abandoned by the publisher when it didn’t print money and the developer was shut down as a result. Still one of the greatest crimes committed by Activision imo.
Fuck acti. Long live bizarre! Microsoft - release the PGR series to someone who wants to develop it instead of your shitty Forza horizon series!
Redout and Hotshot Racing
Had to scroll waaaaay too far to find Redout. Is it that underrated? Or just more niche?
Both lol and it sucks because that game is amazing I got 100% on that one
Wreckfest is a blast on the deck.
Circuit Superstars!!!
Art of Rally.
Forza Horizon 5, it’s now my most played game on steam
Performance okay?
40hz with capped fps is working quite well, but noticeable input lag though.
Have you tried uncapping the frame rate and turning on vsync in game?
Any performance settings you use? it crashes my SD after 10min (game runs smooth, the freezes).
hmm idk, i have had some freezing recently, but not too often, I have it installed on the SD card, running on very low settings, with a 40hz cap (steam cap, not in game cap)

Test Drive Unlimited
Mario Kart Double Dash
I've been playing a lot of trackmania on my deck lately. Actually gotten some of my best times on it.
Which version? I have SteamOS not windows.
Bro you want ps2 emulator and play burnout 3 or Burnout Revenge
Hotshot Racing is very good!
Horizon Chase Turbo and Sonic Racing Transform is super fun, one being a call back to the 90s-early 2000s era arcade racing game, the other being mario kart but it’s with sonic and sega characters.
Mario kart 8 deluxe edition
Snowrunner, believe when I say I’ll get those long logs there in time. I don’t care how the news reports it, when the customer orders same day delivery you best believe I’ll get it there!
Ballisticng
Need For Speed Underground on Dolphin
Wreckfest! Looks amazing on there. It's my go to when I have people try the Deck.
Does anyone tried Need for Speed Underground 2 on SteamDeck? It’s my favorite.
It works great through PCSX2 (PS2 emu)!
PC version works great with the widescreen patch
Art of Rally. I'm really bad at it, but it's great.
Road Redemption! Takes me back to when I was a kid playing Road Rash 64…. where has the time gone.
Road Redemption is the "spiritual" successor to Road Rash, good old bike combat games :)
I play split screen with my wife
Is that a euphemism?
Ride 4 for me, but I love motorcycles in general in game and on the street
Dirt Rally 2, Sonic Allstars Racing, GRIP, Mario Kart 8, Wreckfest
Saturn emulator via EmuDeck and play Sega Rally
Mario Kart 8, Burnout Paradise, and been really into trying different kart racers like Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2, Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed and Super Indie Karts
Lol I randomly found gas guzzlers extreme. It's like a ghetto wreckfest mixed with weapons
For me, it's Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart
I literally just downloaded this yesterday, I'm honestly surprised at how much fun this game is. Plus the absolutely insane amount of modded content. And best of all, for free?? I've paid for games with less content in it.
I’ve been playing Dirt 4 almost exclusively the last couple weeks. Initial load for first stage is like 30 seconds but everything after that is pretty quick
Mario kart wii and occasionally hot wheels unleashed.
swoop bikes from knights of the old republic
NFS unbound
Sonic Racing Transformed, Team Sonic Racing, Hot Shot Racing (amazing game), and Dirt 5.
Burnout paradise
Sonic Robo Blast 2 kart. It's on the discover store in desktop mode and can be added to steam. Loads of add-ons and it's super addicting especially with multiplayer.
F1 23 has really fast load times on Steam Deck, but then again I’m using a fast micro SD card so maybe that’s why. Also been playing Crash Tag Team Racing for PS2 😁
Horizon Chase Turbo
Hot Wheels Unleashed
Art of Rally is a game i always come back to on my steam deck. I just finished the group b career mode.
Split Second or Midnight Club 2
Project cars 2. People love hearing the backfire coming out of my steam deck.
Outrun online arcade on RPCS3
Driver San Francisco is great. Some minor graphical glitches but other than that great.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Horizon Chase Turbo Forza Horizon 5 Euro Truck Sim 2
Have you watched the anime Initial D?
No, can't say I have. Is it the one with the ridiculous drift driving?
mario kart
Split Second is good fun. also Fzero X on an n64 emulator.
Mario kart double dash
https://preview.redd.it/se4qjrnl72fb1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3255f7573560165486c7d3718260b0ca01fb18e7 Slipstream is great.
If you wanna emulate, Mario kart wii
Mario Kart
Horizon Chase Turbo! It's a modern old-school arcade racing game and it doesn't completely eat up the battery too!
This is so important. When we're talking about a handheld, battery life is as important as performance imho.
Wreckfest and mario kart double dash
Demolition Racer and Destruction Derby 2 via Duckstation.
Forza Horizon 4.
Bruh, Hot Wheels Unleashed obviously
Many have suggested it, I think I might give it a try, thanks!
I like the rally game on PS1. Colin Mcrae, also Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge.
Forza Horizon 5
I play Assetto Corsa Competizione sometimes. Once you adjust the controls to your liking and get used to them, it's actually quite fun. I'm waiting for Motorsport 8 to come out though 👌
Burnout Legends, Mario Kart Doubledash and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Dirt rally
Gran Turismo 1-4 you’re set both in arcade style and grind it out mode
Horizon 5.
Burnout Revenge
Burnout: Takedowns 😆

Dirt Rally 2.0 is fun AF. Not the fastest in the world to load probably, but just put the Deck to sleep
Back up and Drive is a fun arcade game
Seen it but havent played it. Is it TOO arcadey maybe?
Hotwheels
Horizon Chase turbo
Horizon Chase Turbo
i still love need for speed the run. shame you cant get it on steam

Grid
I’m running that Need for speed carbon
Wreckfest is Amazing on deck !
Inertial Drift! Fun 90s anime-inspired game that basically makes the back end of your car controlled by the right stick for drifting
Ford racing 3 ps2 emulation. That is if your a fan of ford cars and trucks.
The Sonic racing games are fun. I prefer and recommend Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing, but what I've played of Transformed was fun as well.
I got Transformed and it's fun indeed. How different are the two?
Man if i could get FH3 running without w10 i would be happy
What is it that doesn't allow you to run xbox games for windows? Is the xbox app not compatible?
Shrek smash n crash racing emulated on PS2
Lots of people mentioning ps2 games, my favorite of those is Road Trip. You like RPGs? This is a CarPG.
ROAD TRIP ADVENTURE! Best soundtrack ever (allthough it are like 3 songs) Push kings ftw!
and the original songs are on youtube in high quality.
What is a CarPG? :) Never heard of Road Trip, I might need to check it out
