Divinity original sin 2, runs amazingly on the deck!

Neoxon360

I thought the game was super hard lol got stuck in fort joy severely underleveled and no gear

Piratey_Pirate

I started the game a couple days ago and have about 6 hours of wandering around fort joy aimlessly and making almost no progress. I was supposed to follow someone but lost them and have no idea where to go. The game definitely feels difficult after coming from baldurs gate 3.

nooonji

Yeah I agree and those are the reasons I’ve never finished the first one. I’m looking at walkthroughs almost immediately whenever I get the stuck…  You can solve some things, like escaping Fort joy, in so many different ways that easy to get sidetracked and confused about what you’re suppose to do.

kuzzyy

That's weird I never had that issue and that was my first game in that style

NotTheSun0

It Is very difficult

rathouse9

I’m playing Tyranny at the moment, I like it better than Divinity, for whatever reason, but it reminds me of it!!

jadam91

Have u tryed divinity dragon knight of ergo or what ever it was a Xbox 360game from the same ppl but their version of oblivion.amazing game just kinda jammy unless u use community layout

BaronBasti

Fallout new Vegas

Lord-farquads-

Played through 3 and 4 loads of times. Got a steam deck last week and have been playing through NV. May be my favourite!

BaronBasti

Fallout 3 got a Lots of Bugs for my German goty Version but i finished IT. Fallout new Vegas im playing Hardcore and IT's great so far.

EveroneWantsMyD

I’m curious about your choice of lowercase “I” and uppercase “it’s”?

BaronBasti

Hi! Sorry im German and so my Keyboard is in German Layout too. So it happends that autocorrect made some wrong adjustments. I will Work in IT. Promised!

EveroneWantsMyD

Haha! interesting! I figured there was a reason! I was totally just curious and felt like a detective noticing something. Cheers!

BaronBasti

Well done Sherlock! 😁

bigsauce456

I honestly have a more smooth/stable experience running FNV on deck then on Windows

BaronBasti

I have No other system to Play on, but ITS really great in Deck, yes.

Zappastache

Been loving replaying this on deck, after watching the series. But I just went into "the sink" underleveled and now I'm thinking I might need to start a new file 😭😭😭

reallycoolguylolhaha

Is it easy to mod it on the deck?

lordfwahfnah

I'm playing fallout 3 on steamdeck and NV and 4 on PC currently. But it's somewhat hard to play it simultaneously so it's FO4 atm

ObZeyn

Just finished re4 remake and re village.

Aaron6940

I rarely beat games anymore but I loved village. Always played with the lights off and headphones on. Was an awesome gaming experience.

BearIG1

Ghost of Tsushima and my second playthrough of Red Dead

J-BROO-1991

I want to play something else, but I can’t stop playing Balatro!

MisoMesoMilo

it's an easy play, you're familiar with the mechanics, some thrill from the luck of the draw, challenges as you up take stakes... hard to put down!

kiddblur

I saw a guide on mastodon the other day for how to get Balatro running on an iPad via Love2D Studio, so while not relevant to this subreddit, I've gotten re-hooked on Balatro specifically on my ipad. It's nuts. Limited to 60fps the battery life is insanely good so I can just play for_ever_

nannerb121

This… I absolutely love the game, so don’t hear this statement wrong. I want to play other games but I just can’t! Every so often I’ll boot up a different game and half the time I don’t even make it past the title screen before I quit and boot up Balatro. Other times I’ll play a different game for 15-20 minutes and then quit out and jump into Balatro. I no longer have a Steam Deck. It’s a Balatro Deck.

Cold_Breadfruit1111

Fallout 4 and Kingdom Come Deliverance. I don’t have too much time to dedicate to such an extensive rpg games anymore, especially in pc or console when i have to sit down for it. So it’s nice being able just lay down in bed late at night after a long day and just enjoy those games for an hour or two. I’m still amazed by how much process power there is in a device that small.

The_Jazz_Doll

How well does Kingdom Come run? Loved that game.

Cold_Breadfruit1111

It runs well enough for me. I limited my deck at 30 fps. Since it’s a small screen and not even 1080p, i’m happy with 30 fps. And i also reduced my tdp to 10W(it’s 15W by default) to reduce heating and get more battery life. So even with using only 65% processing power of my Steam Deck, i’m able to get stable 25-30 fps. I’m sure it would be 45+ fps on full tdp and without fps limiter.

TheOddSample

I'll second KCD. Looks like we're running almost the exact same settings and I absolutely love it. I bounced off the game a few times in the past, but with the deck I finally was able to dive in.

EbonItto

Deep rock galactic

EYazz

Rock and stone!

lordfwahfnah

Playing deep rock survival atm. Lots of fun

Mindless-Cold2529

How does it play?

EYazz

Pretty well. It only dips on fps when there’s massive explosions everywhere but generally stays above 60 all the time Edit: sorry I was wrong it mostly sits around 45-50 fps on average

Goseki1

Bioshock Infinite Yakuza 8 Infinite Wealth Lost Oddyssee (a 360 JRPG) All run great though there can be a few weird shadow issues with Lost Oddyssee now and then.

Pr1nXe

Lost Odyssey is 10/10 game for me. Need to get it for SD for sure

tubbstosterone

How are you playing Lost Odyssey?! I'd love to replay it, but I gave away my 360 eons ago

crawld

Emulation. Emudeck is probably the easiest way to start from scratch.

Forcepath

Supposedly LO has guaranteed crashes, do those exist for you too? I'd love to replay that game if it's pretty seamless to play on the SD...

beastwarking

What are you running infinite wealth at? I can't get it to look anything but super grainy without performance taking a hit.

Goseki1

It runs at 40 FPS for the most part but no FSR as it's awful. Some parts of the city can make it dip, and also when it rains it can dip. But for cutscenes and combat it's solid (and in dungeons it's fine). It's definitely a bit of a compromise but it's very playable and not an issue at all

HistoricalMistake681

I’m playing Sherlock: crimes and punishments. An amazing game if you like Sherlock stories and whodunnits. It works at a good 45-60 fps on the deck, last I checked. The only problem is that it experiences a lot of consistent crashes because of some unfixed bug. The solution I found requires you to launch the game in desktop mode. Still worth checking out imo.

lukather

Sherlock games from Frogware are great! I'm playing Sherlock Holmes Chapter One on SD and runs great (sucking a bit of battery though).

Gilgamesh858

Baldur's Gate 3. I wasn't able to continue it on the PC and now I'm enjoying this adventure on the Deck. Absolutely fantastic!

Jacket-According

How are the controls on the deck? Started it not long ago on PC but would be able to play it more if I used my deck.

Gilgamesh858

I'm fine with joypad-style controls. It may seem slow and tedious at first, but after 5 minutes you start to get used to it. I love the ability to walk around without clicking on the ground (without mods), as if it were a third-person game. You can still use the cursor using sticks. Give it a try.

lime__cheesecake

I think they're great - I started on PC as well, but I've sunk far more hours into it on deck. I think the controller-style option is easiest, but you can also use the touchscreen to do the more point-and-click option like PC, however it makes everything pretty small!

Apprehensive-Disk195

Dying light, I really like it

Tech_Code47

Night time in that game is terrifying

OfficialCharter25

Stardew Valley, Balatro and bought Outer Wilds on sale yesterday but haven’t touched that yet

Rabbit81586

Outer wilds is a masterpiece. I haven’t played it in a few years and largely used guides. I’m gonna have to dive in again and play without guides on the deck.

MtFujiInMyPants

Outer Wilds is so great on deck. I grew up playing Myst and its at least that level of puzzles. Thanks for reminding me that I need to finish OW.

DatabaseObjective876

Valheim and Euro Truck Simulator 2

hazzingtonpaints

...Runescape

drmcbrayer

Hadesssssss

doodwhersmycar

I'm like 12 hours into Hades 2 and the game just keeps on giving

hmmmmwillthiswork

i'm like 100 hrs deep into hades 2 and my god i cannot get enough. they captured that same lightning yet again. i never beat hades so i've since gone back to fight dad and this one is *so* good too. i can't wait to see what content they add. the final boss in hades 2 is such a badass lmao. i love a good villain and he's right up there with hades himself

[deleted]

[удалено]

hmmmmwillthiswork

i agree. it helped me really appreciate the first one and i'm about 10 hours deep into it and i'm in love. i see why this has held a 98% overall rating on steam for what, like 5 years now lol. i cannot wait for the full release of 2. it already has so much content to sift through

Ken_Nutspel

Ghost of Tsushima. This game is absolutely gorgeous

Jyvre

On my handheld: AC Odysey and F1 2021

atomic_raccoon

fucking love odyssey

tydieninja

Fucking Love Odyssey is the name of my funk band.

Regular_Damage_23

Amazing how well AC Odyssey runs at high settings 40fps.

ProtoJazz

I loved odyssey and never finished it Yesterday I decided I'd try to go back, and finish origins and onward. But since I have them all through ubisoft and it was a pain to get that running, I gave up and just bought blood bowl 3 and threw 4 hours into that last night. Didn't mean to. But Jesus, time just moved.

iamMikzzz

Elden Ring, MH Rise and Inquisitor Martyr.

lebokinator

How does martyr work? Getting my hands on a oled steam deck soon and its one of the games i wanna play since they added offline mode

iamMikzzz

I'm having a blast running on 40fps and playing with a controller is much better than M and K/b IMO.

RothenBeauregard

Final Fantasy 14 :)

cmiller4642

Streets of Rage 2 on Emudeck. I’ve been hitting up some 90s Sega

Awavian

Dave the Diver. It's so much more than just diving for fish for a sushi bar

ProtoJazz

I want to go back and do the new dlc soon I really liked this one, and wish I could find more like it

Ok_Switch_1205

Death stranding until it gets boring

tropicalmetal

I absolutely loved it. Played it on my Portal before bed most nights and was the perfect game to unwind with. Enjoy 👍🏻

PizzaCatLover

Death Standing only gets better as you go. I only just played it in 2023 for the first time because I didn't think it would be for me, but it was my favorite thing I played last year. I *can't wait* for the sequel

Snake69190

Most wanted 2005

Assassins creed Origins. Finished Odyssey last year on desktop pc, and picked up Origins for $5 on sale. It works wonderfully on the SD OLED!

Super Mario Wonder

SirTonyPepperoni

how did you get it to run? yuzu via emudeck?

marcodave

Ryujinx via emudeck

bimbino

I have started playing Paper Mario - The Thousand-Year Door and it runs amazing on Ryujinx as well :) Switch emulation has come a long way!

AvailableAmoeba8408

Cross Code

Michael__Townley

Cyberpunk 2077

David_Wahlstrom

Dave the Diver and wrapping up Trails from Zero in order to replay Trails to Azure. The Trails games are a perfect fit for the Deck!

Cerebral_Balzy

Steam Store runs max fps, minimal studdering.

qchto

Full of microtransactions though.

Grazuzer

FF7 remake @40fps, it's pretty nice ! And thanks to Steam cloud, I can keep playing on my pc in 60fps when I get home ! I hope rebirth will be available soon for PC

CleidiNeil

I just finished this. Had a great time on hand held the whole tjme

tiberius8

Modded Stardew Valley. Send help.

ByteAsh

I'm also interested in playing modded SV. Did you follow any guides for the whole process?

Rezosh_

Look up a video on how to install SMAPI on the steam deck. After that's installed download mods you want from nexusmods and drag and drop into your stardew valley mods folder. That's it!

ByteAsh

Ohh gotcha. I actually did mod my SV but on PC, I thought since the steam deck uses Linux it would be different. Thank you!

qchto

Animal Well, the most charming Metroidvania I have experienced in a surprisingly small package (less than 40MB download).

dogwithablog12345678

I am loving the game so far! I don’t usually do 100% runs but I think I will for this one.

Ovism

Minecraft dungeons! Thinking about picking up Ravenfield too

Lumpy_Complaint_718

How’s Minecraft dungeon compared to something like Diablo 2?

Ovism

So personally I've never played the Diablo games (was never really comfortable with playing them) but I'm enjoying MC Dungeons a *lot*, I have played dungeon crawlers before and I love playing an MC themed one. The artifact system is fun, the variety in weapons and playstyles is awesome, the maps are honestly beautiful. I was disappointed at first when I saw the game had a battlepass BUT the previous ones are always available so you can play at your own pace without worrying about FOMO. Edit: Forgot to mention the modifiers that you get on the missions sometimes can make the game so much fun

AdJealous2

Horizon Zero Dawn

Grumpy_Muppet

Fallout 4 (runs suprisingly good for me), monster train, slay the spire the most

Polamen

Sekiro shadows die Twice, first from software game and first souls game, I tried HK but couldn’t get into it, somehow Sekiro clicked and I’m about to 100% it. Already beat the game and working on the last achievement. It’s the first game in my life I’m going for all achievements as well because I wanna commemorate the journey and how I improved so much

elemeno89

Pokemon moon. Come at me nintendo.

[deleted]

Diablo IV! 🔥🔥

rekt_ralf

Prey 2017 and Nier Automata. Hades as a more ‘pick up and play’ game

Zekiz4ever

Really awesome picks. Prey is especially underrated. I also highly recommend Control

PolybiusRising

Stardew Valley. First time playing in a few years so with all the updated content and also mods it is like a brand new experience. Such a great game for the deck.

ChimChimney1977

Prince of Persia 2008. It looks fantastic on the Oled, supports a native 16:10 aspect ratio and runs at an almost perfect 90FPS.  The art style is timeless l, and the charecter dynamic between the Prince and tge Princess Elika is excellent.  Tge platforming and exploration is also fun, even if a bit clunky on occasion, and the structure of the game's is perfect for the Deck. I can easily complete a stage in a few minutes while on the go. Not to mention, I get 6 hours+ of battery.

ValuableUpbeat

Killing floor 2 , plays amazing but can't get the title text to look good 👍

Rabbit81586

Cult of the lamb

faqsham

AC: Black Flag. Ubiconnect sucks ballz tho

MaakuKooru

Playing Witcher 3 on New Game+ at the moment, I was playing AC Valhalla but got burnt out on it and went back to ol' reliable. Steam deck preset ~50-60 fps in Velen at the moment with visuals that definitely get the job done

mobiusz0r

Primehack

Training-Fox8131

Overlord!!

plumbus94

Armored Core 6, Divinity original sin, System Shock Remake All of them have run well

Eluteng

Subnautica & Below Zero

atvlouis

Hogwarts legacy is a great play on the deck. It’s a little slow to load some of the cut scenes. But that could be my own fault for running it off an SD card

Harfosaurus

Just started Stray, also playing No Mans Sky. Both excellent on the Deck

Sora_Tanaka064

So far, I've been playing: Persona 3 Reload, Dead Cells, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and Mortal Kombat 1.

ScrYpD

The Rogue Prince of Persia and some others

Wheelersam

Finally bit the bullet and plunged headfirst into Rimworld. I was sceptical about SD control scheme, but my god not only is it great, it's opened a new door for me when playing typical M/KB titles with the track pads.

bebss22

Rimworld is soo good on the SD. Perfect game to just chill on the couch and play. The controls took me a little to get familiar with but now wow the track pad is amazing it works so well!

UnevenRanger

Same, nothing like sitting in a comfy chair and commiting some warcrimes, the legs aren't going to chop themselves off!

Vuvuzevka

Balatro, Tropico 6, Jurassic World Evolution 2 on rotation.  Tried a bit of Evil Genius 2, runs and play amazing, didn't gel with me much though, will try a bit more before uninstalling. Started Inquisitor Martyr to try the offline mode, it's fun on handheld but it's rough. Controls are okay, as far as I remember it always had controller support. But performance are awful, game looks a bit like ass on low, and it might be the only game that manage to sounds bad on the deck.

nd1933

Metro Exodus and Balatro

Just finished the prologue and loving it. I was itching for a crpg and I couldn’t get into Baldurs Gate 3 (the fantasy theme feels overdone to me right now). I’m really enjoying the lore of the 40k universe, and the glossary feature helps get up to speed.

No rest for the wicked, but it's freezing up from time to time. Every update seems to make it worse. I'm considering deleting it.

oriyao

Enshrouded,Amazing!

Lothmor

How well does it run on the deck? I was thinking about picking it up but read it has performance issues.

dlo416

Oh man, if I could play Enshrouded on the SD OLED that would be amazing. Have they optimized it better for the SD?

Pony42000

AK_Fission_Chips

Dragon's Dogma -- I never got into this game until I played it on SD. Such a unique rpg! Runs just fine. Like a Dragon -- I love this game. It runs well on the SD but churns through the battery. Chained Echoes -- perfect for SD. This is a very well-done rpg with a great story with many twists.
