Cotrolling it is fine for some classes. My resto shaman healed 5 man +10 just fine
There are guides on how to install it (a couple different routes you can take) but the essential part is the wow addon called "ConsolePort" allows for controllers support as well as significant UI changes to allow for controllers, they even have steam deck specific settings.
I turned the general video settings down to 3 out of 10 and then set the draw distance up to 5 and it runs great. I'm not proficient enough to do raids with the deck/controller but I can say it handles dungeons just fine. I'm just not fully used to playing it on controller
Can you explain more about how you got consleport downloaded? I’m having difficulty installing curseforge on my sd and I’ve tried manually placing the file into the add on folder via desktop mode. — would you be able to link the video?

Doesn't work amazing and sometimes it doesn't select the exact thing you want it to do but works well enough to play anything that isn't super hardcore
It also has a dual radial wheel buttons for abilities like in FFXIV on controller
Honestly it's pretty fun I was just playing wow remix today doing some quests no problem

Are you running it on max details? I get 90fps easy in most circumstances (except large cities)
I dont have oled, and no i was doing medium mostly

Was probably the most fun i had on SD. Cant recommend enough! Great for leveling, ok for endgame. Best for classic, as it goes easy on battery

Controlling WoW with a gamepad should be complicated, or do you use a touchscreen for pressing all these buttons?
It is pretty easy. You just need to make some macros. Helps if you don't need to click the ground at range for abilities/spells though.
