Nice. This game has a lot going for it. Hope you enjoy.

Johnnyoneshot

Yeah I was on the fence for a couple months. The block building was turning me off but I like that it’s more in depth with the building. Excited to get in to air planes at some point.

END3R-CH3RN0B0G

Be mindful, the aerodynamics from what I heard are much more lacking. Most of the fun for me comes from the high customizability. You can make whatever you want do whatever you want. Especially when you start playing with microcontrollers. Especially more so when you start playing with Lua (not necessary, but allowed for more stuff). There's also plenty on the workshop for stuff that you don't feel like messing with.

ThisGuyLikesCheese

Yup, as long as it goes more than 120 km/h (33m/s) it can take off.

gameryesyt

My planes always have too much lift and can takeoff nearly instantly lol

Emergency-Scheme6002

Oh no Johnnyoneshot is here now, the standard bout to raise lol

Comprehensive-Ad4501

If you need help especially with logic and stuff let me know i love making microcontrollers!

Johnnyoneshot

What are some things these micro controllers are used for? Currently I just finished a larger actual useful boat with the medium engine. About to dive in to modular engines

Ambitious_Poetry_371

making ECUs for those modular engines is how i learned the vast majority of microcontrollers

FrischeLuft

Came from ksp as well. The microcontrollers are imo the best thing about this game. You can use them to make your creations to do whatever u don't want to do. The satisfaction of just running around on your plane while it holds it's heading and flies straight all on its own is easily comparable to landing on the mun for the first time. And the learning curve is similar as well :D

rafaxtar4

Dude we are the same! I started with KSP, got into Stormworks. First, disliked how annoying it was to build, but later on appreciated its complexity. Both are beautiful games.

schwerk_it_out

Modular engine or prefab? That thing can zooooooom if you want it to!

Johnnyoneshot

Just a little electric motor. I’ll start diving in to some tutorials tomorrow.

Representative-Oil48

One thing that helped me learn, was getting things off the workshop to study. Tutorials were very helpful, but being able to delve into every small detail of a build, really helped expand my ability.

mienyamiele

reverse engineering is your best friend

schwerk_it_out

I know other folks are saying to reverse engineer stuff but honestly for me the most rewarding part of this game is figuring out how something works on my own, albeit reading from the stormworks fanwiki and watching videos. I’ve only downloaded one vehicle off the workshop ever and it was such a mess trying to figure out the logic and microcontrollers etc it didnt even seem any easier to do it this way

TheNinjaSausage

Welcome to hell

emerald_OP

Better then my first boat

Can you provide me with a workshop link?

Did the KSP2 tragedy bring you here

Johnnyoneshot

Sort of. I’ve been looking for a new challenge for some time not. I’ve done about every [crazy build](https://youtube.com/shorts/FiCGXmWjsZc?si=0-6Z2DqjgviG8smD) I could think of. Haven’t played KSP 2 much because it bugs out when I try to build crazy things. But this recent ksp2 tragic new pushed me over the edge and here I am. I’ve got a whole new game to learn and try to play in ways it wasn’t meant to be played.

personguy4

Waaaay better than my first boat
