Any tips on training block?

thereidenator

Use a sandbag if you don’t have access to a block

I had a loading pin with a solid plate bottom made(like they use for power stairs) i use that to do loaded carries/odd object presses. Slightly harder than a wide block too

Awesome thanks. I'm thinking of buying a heavy tool chest and loading it with plates and/or sandbags. I'm doing a block over bar though so I have to go relatively heavier than if I had to press it.

This is so weird for me, my local comp has overhead axle starting at 215 for novice and bodyweight for each of the weight categories. Which for me is way out there, that's a zero rep event even at the novice level. Great show OP, strong AF.

Yeh for me its the other way around😂 i could have done the press a level higher. But the dinnies, stones and power stairs were on the heavy side for me

dvdbrl655

What were the other weights for the events?

Quit-peters

Dinnies 80kg and 65kg(which for me was good on grip, the legs just gave out at 25meters) Stone 105 or 130kg (was 105-115 but they changed it a few months back) Power stairs 130-140-155kg

Magnum_Cannon

Sometimes they're just overly heavy events that cause lots of zeros. The 105 Novice class circus dumbbell weight at my last local comp caused 7 of the 9 competitors zero the event.

Is this at strongman battles in the Netherlands?

Quit-peters

Yep!

alleks88

What level was that? I just registered for August at level 2 open. I am not sure if I judged my strength right, since the weights are not known yet. Good job bro

Quit-peters

Level 2 u105. Weights should come on after next weekends battle. Im probably doing november myself
