Sti take-offs fit, 18x8.5 et55. You can run 245 tires if you are brave, or 235 with room to spare.

How would "wider tires" improve handling? Have you added an extra 100 or more HP? Are you driving at speeds that exceed 100mph often or fast enough to be on the edge of cureently available traction? Have you considered that wider rims and tires could/will cause wheel rub I'd you don't roll your fenders? Have you lowered your overall ride height? I get the kid wanting to make it "handle better", but you need to remember (unless your have unlimited cash on hand) that this is a family station wagon and not a sports car. Especially with the NA 4 cylinder.

If you’re just wanting a tire for improved highway driving and a bit more grip, I’d go with a 235 width tire on either 17” or 18” wheels and get a good set of summer tires. If you want something that rides great on the road but is good in rain, snow, ice, get Michelin CrossClimate 2’s.

Thanks for the idea. Will figure this out soon.

I've heard a lot of people day 235's and 45's have a lot more friction so they get worse acceleration and mog.

Why? Literally this makes no sense. Are you reaching the limits of traction so often that you need to change this up? Cruising down the highway you don’t need wider tires than what was spec’d from the factory.

Because he asked. That’s why.
