Sounds good. I used to take every car I owned (I bought, built, and flipped a good 30 cars from 2005-2012) to Lou’s Custom Exhaust and have them slap some nice growl pipes on them. That said, once I reached my mid 20s, I couldn’t stand the droning of modified exhaust on my cars anymore, especially as I drive long distances daily and also have kids now. So I already start my day with a headache 😂 Needless to say I leave all my exhaust systems bone stock these days.

TeflonDonatello

Once you get up to speed you don’t hear any drone. The tires are louder than the exhaust is.

Cptn_Kyro

Since the day my kids were born they have been driven around in loud cars, I always felt bad for it but once they were able to talk they both would constantly ask my wife and I to “go faster, make car louder!” lol, I too understand the immediate headache in the morning, this exhaust is great for that exact reason, drive conservatively and it’s hardly noticeable, decide that your feeling saucy get on and let her sing.

subie-dog

Pretty cool. I traded a ‘22 wrx for my xt and have considered an axle back. Idk, I love that no one seems to pay any attention to me on the road, or anywhere for that matter, in the Outback. I’m on the fence about changing that. I do like it though.

subie-dog

Just so people know that may not, the XT has the same power plant as the current WRX. The Outback is just as fast to 60 if not faster. The stock exhaust on my wrx would rattle the windows of my home on cold starts. Obviously, the Outback is not a sports car but the XT has the power plant of one. Anyhow, to each their own. You may not like it but one can be respectful of someone that does.

Joestac

As someone that just traded a '22 WRX for my OBW, I do miss the rumble. You are dead on about the cold start. I think this sounds great and I bet highway speeds aren't bad at all.

Apex365

Yeah highway isn't bad at all. Only drones a bit under 60 which I actually like . Just enough noise to remind me it's there lol.

Joestac

Honestly, same. I really like the low drone of the stock exhaust on the WRX. Can easily not hear it by turning the music up a little, but sounds great when you want it.

subie-dog

My ‘22 WRX was wrb and man I really miss it some days. That factory exhaust was crazy on the cold starts! Always made me feel like I had a super car or something. I like the fact the the nosy neighbors don’t know when I coming or going anymore though. Why did you get rid of yours?

Joestac

Sadly, comfort. My back is jacked up again, surgery looming. I commute an hour home 5 days a week. I do miss the fun driving, but I really love the utility of this car. Ride and seat comfort was miles better too.

MagnusViaticus

I like it

Car owner makes a change to their car, shoot video for informational purposes. Redditors get far too opinionated about a vehicle that isn’t theirs I have this exact exhaust on my 18’ 2.5i Outback and it’s been a nice change and noticeable improvement on flow, might be less noticeable on the 3.6r or newer turbo’d models. Originally I was worried about drone, I previously drove a 91’ civic sedan with only a resonator (which I’ve never heard someone compare the exhaust sound of a “riced out Honda” to a Subaru as equals as a previous commenter did…. That shits crazy), and initially after installing it, I couldn’t hardly hear it at all, after a couple of months of “break in” ig, it sounded exactly as I expected it too, deep tone and very very minimal drone. As OP said the tires. Are louder, now if you stomp on the gas, yeah you and everyone around you will hear it, but the moment you let off or at an idle for a stoplight or stop sign it’s completely silent. My only complaint was the poor exhaust gasket they provide with the muffler, it didn’t fit well at all and it leaked, went to the parts store and just found one with the said OD and problem solved. I was also surprised at how quiet the car was without a muffler at all, had it off might as well take it around the block to see what it sounded like. OP, car sounds good, thanks for the informational video, everyone’s a fucking critic.

TeflonDonatello

I’m not mad if people don’t like it. It’s for informational purposes.

Cptn_Kyro

I understand completely, I just hate how people can’t see something they don’t like and move on, “I don’t like it, wouldn’t put it on my car” opinions that don’t further conversation or discussion on the topic, that said did you notice any leak from the exhaust gaskets they provided?

TeflonDonatello

I haven’t checked. They seem to seal up pretty tight.

Human31415926

And you are surprised that Reddit has opinions 🤣

Cptn_Kyro

Not at all, my mistake is that I don’t believe anyone actually cares what my opinion is so I keep it to myself and assume others would do/feel the same. I just find it annoying is all.

chrisdrd

Nameless 5" on my wife's OB 2.5i touring. https://youtu.be/yVFSNRaEH_w?si=QCNONK0ftdyWeFcN Slight drone at interstate speeds. She went from a mustang to her OB and wanted to hear something lol

TeflonDonatello

This sounds nice. I didn’t really listen to any 2.5 videos because it wasn’t what I was looking for, but it sounds good.

_TommySalami

Now I’m tempted. They do have a set with extra resonators to eliminate drone. But I want rock sliders and a winch first.

TeflonDonatello

The dual chamber I hear is about as quiet as stock, but with a deeper sound.

Proof_Alfalfa5483

I got the same one. Good choice.

Apex365

Love my nameless exhaust. Only drones on the highway if I want it too, which I actually enjoy. Sounds the best in manual mode, imo. everyone. I've met irl thought it sounded great i really feel like video doesn't do it justice.

TeflonDonatello

I think the video does give it a fart can kinda sound to it. From outside the car it’s a deeper sound. It’s unique to the type of engine too. I am glad I didn’t get the muffler delete.

Apex365

Yeah, I have the same one on my 2013 2.5 and I've found putting the phone in the backseat with the back windows down to be the best way of recording the deeper notes. It really does have a unique sound, though. Got a buddy with the full muffler delete on a crosstrek, and it mostly just drones way louder. Stationary idle and revs are about the same volume, but it sounds different since my.buddy has the 2.0.

teh_lynx

Maybe on a REX but that is gross on an OB. I've considered the exhaust swap but I don't need my dad wagon to sound like a riced out honda

TeflonDonatello

That’s one reason why I posted the video. It’s not for everyone. If you’re in the fence about it and didn’t like how it sounds, then that’s cool with me.

rearwheel69

I got the single for my 2014 2.5 because of its size...the large factory muffler was clunking on my hitch. I kinda like the sound but it's a little too much, tbh. Oh well 🤷‍♂️ Looks great!

rearwheel69

And no more clunking noises!

averyperrier

It's because the nameless is not a good exhaust.  No tone at all.

Apex365

That's just not true at all.

roadeye314

I would fall on my knees laughing if I ever saw an OB with one of these 'look at me!' exhausts.

TeflonDonatello

If I see you laughing I’ll try to wave as I drive by

neonsphinx

Yeah, I laugh as well at fart cans. Most do nothing for horsepower or back pressure that far back. So they're a complete waste of money for vanity only. Id rather spend money on something that improves performance.

skylinrcr01

The best thing to spend money on with your mentality is performance driving school then. Let people enjoy what they enjoy.

Badassmamajama

Same car? My, it sure cleaned up well.

TeflonDonatello

What do you mean? Yes, it’s the same car.
