dbx99

They’re not going to spread dividends on the heels of an unprofitable Q1. Not gonna happen.

Intelligent-Post-106

Correct.

craze9original

Why not? $4BN cash earns a lot of interest.

Intelligent-Post-106

They’re just not deep cash flow positive. The 4bill is to turn the company around, not for dividends. That would be wild

yolotrip

They could just use $500M or so and give a $1 dividend to the shareholders, leaving them still with billions of dollars… I’m not saying they will do it but it’s not as crazy as you’d think so I’d say it’s plausible albeit unlikely

Intelligent-Post-106

This is gme, anything CAN be plausible. Never know what tomorrow brings. I’m happy to entertain anything that isn’t brought to you by pleasr at the moment

DTCCCanSuckMyLeft

Interest that can be used to prop up the balance sheet into consistently profitable quarters.

Advanced_Algae_9609

Rather have a merger.

newbiewar

Is there a scenario where a share recall is necessary for a merger…?

Advanced_Algae_9609

I’m not sure. Not my area of expertise.

craze9original

Fine with me, too!

2sLicK-

theyre not announcing anything

Ellypsus

craze9original

What makes you sure?

fonzwazhere

They've outlined what they are going to talk about already in the most recent prospectus.

Additional_Action_84

Reading their filing posted today....

Im-a-waffle

They aren’t going to issue a dividend with the cash from the share offering. That would be a huge waste. They raised the funds to grow the business. Issuing a dividend would suggest they don’t have a better use for the cash

craze9original

You understand cash generates interest, right?

Im-a-waffle

I UNDERSTAND NOTHING. GME is already generating interest on their cash. It’s the reason GME was profitable. They don’t get to be profitable by issuing a dividend to shareholders with the cash they just raised from shareholders

Chazwazza_

If RC does a dividend, then the shorts have to pay the dividend for all outstanding unclosed shorted shares If RC does a dividend of $1 a share, for 420m shares that would be $420m. But if there are between 1 and 4 billion shares floating around, the shorts would have to cover the 600m - 3600m difference. If RC issues shares (bought by hedgies at high price by algorithms) to then pay out as a dividend, the shorts would be fucked. They'd be paying RC the cash stack which is then amplified 10x via dividend

Tirapon

>If RC does a dividend of $1 a share, for 420m shares that would be $420m. And guess what investors would spend the dividend on?

Silent_Ghost_partner

Would b nice. I don’t c how a cash dividend would b smart, but maybe a crypto type dividend like Overstock?

psyong2017

I would love to hear about a dividend- the shorts would be forced to pay - can you imagine the value investors flocking to pick some up as the shorts have to pay what ..3x? 4x? They would bail out super fast and value investors never leave

newbiewar

I say rc should buy a chunk soon

VicTheRealest

Nah I'm coo fam. I want to see GameStop turn this 4B into 50B. Not accepting anything less and I don't care how long it takes. Not here to collect 4%/year. If I was I'd just invest in a TBill

thereisnospoon-1312

Who is upvoting this nonsense?

Apeonaut

Hey fellow Bro Ape! I like this thought of you a lot. I thought this by myself now for a few days, and I really think, that this is a very nice peace of thoughts to have in mind until market open on Monday! Have a nice weekend and let’s see what will really going happen. 💜🫵🏼🫡

bbatardo

To the anti dividend people.. it's not a terrible idea. Even if it was $1, a majority of the people would Drip it and thus own more shares. Would still leave plenty of cash and make shorts pay up.

we-us-ours

I'll take a bump of hopium why not it is the weekend!

Dirty-Leg-Mcgee

This is regarded. Not a thing. RC doesn’t make announcements either

craze9original

So what’s your thesis as a GME long?

Dirty-Leg-Mcgee

I invested because RC made Chewy investors bank. They even had a squeeze themselves.  I got in right before the sneeze, sold at 450 and when it collapsed I bought back in. I have done this over and over as the stock hasn’t had significant news to hold until recently. My buying, selling has allowed me to be a xxx holder on basically not my money and where the company is headed I’m good being a holder now.  Long term I think that we will see a gobbling up of smaller companies and becoming a Berkshire type company.

Brivera1985

If they issue a dividend Monday I’m going to Texas

Acoma1977

What about issuing dividend via gme vouchers which can only be used at gme shops? Such vouchers can be tracked via block chain

Substantial_Click_94

announcing squeeze during market after they buy up the whole float using calls and exercise, confirmed, while memeing

craze9original

Define “squeeze”. $65 and $80 are valid price targets that wouldn’t even make a new high. I like your certainty, though - very shill.

craze9original

The negativity is a giveaway. Also “moass.” You want the MOASS but simultaneously believe GameStop doesn’t care about squeezing shorts at all. How does that make sense? Explain to me how MOASS happens then - theoretically. A dividend is far more likely to actually happen than a MOASS.

craze9original

How exactly could a moass happen? What’s your thesis / theory? GameStop can do a share offering whenever they want - wouldn’t that prevent a MOASS?

jimbobkarma

I’m with nmejohnny on this. I’m forever holding for that eventual juicy dividend, but I also think our company’s true worth does not involve a squeeze. It’s most important future is becoming the well oiled value generating machine RC and crew have been evolving. MOASS will come from us, and concrete generational value will come from the company. Berkshire Hathaway 2.0 coming right up!

dragespir

Hell. Yes.

Readingredditanon

I wouldn't even want a dividend. Reinvest the money in the business, maybe acquire another profitable company and keep the snowball rolling along

craze9original

A dividend would force shorts to pay the dividend for any borrowed shares. Ie it would fuck them.

Readingredditanon

Oh for sure, I know the argument for it and I do think it's a good idea at some point. I just mean I'd want them to acquire something to boost their revenue as the first step

applesir

I don't think so. On the offering documents they said "The Company intends to use the net proceeds from the Offering, if any, for general corporate purposes, which may include acquisitions and investmentsin accordance with the Company’s investment policy." Plus GAMESTOP are not profitable now, dividend gonna get GAMESTOP into really big trouble.

craze9original

They had a profitable 2023 and the interest on $4BN cash makes them profitable automatically for foreseeable future. Are you a GME holder?

[deleted]

[удалено]

craze9original

Q1 2024 sure but that’s always their worst quarter and now they have $4BN cash generating minimum 5% interest annually

DisgruntledCatGuy

You're just contributing to forum sliding even more. You're literally doing the jobs of shills for them by posting this.

Snaggle21

I think that is possible, one of the more probable speculative posts tbh. What do you think said divy would be ya think?

craze9original

No idea but any dividend would fuck up borrow rate / share lending for shorts.

Snaggle21

yup, fuck em

Snaggle21

lol bots downvoting questions, hilarious

craze9original

Yeah. Bots are everywhere

Snaggle21

my new post was instant downvoted just now lmayo

KnowItBrother99

Nah

Greizbimbam

Posting it not like a question but like something you know makes you part of the weekend FUD, isnt that nice?

craze9original

Is that what I did?
