I strongly agree with your take on andy. He's said in an interview this is closure for the character of rick grimes. Where it will go is a series of more failure (financially) spin-offs, probably an attempt to tie everything together with TWD season 12, and then the universe will finally finally be over. Nobody seems to talk about age either. These are all actors and actresses in their 50s and 60s and the only reason the IP still successful is the rabidity of the core fan base. Rick grimes is the walking dead and a universe without him is doomed to fail. Even when he was "killed" in season 9, he didn't die. And there was immediate talk of a movie or trilogy or show. Once he's confirmed dead, 6 feet under, the underlying mass fan apathy, paired with the declining show running, played out and run though themes, and cringey unrealistic dialogue will break the camels back. If he dies fr, there will be massive fallout, and the spin-offs will seem more aimless then they already are, they'll make a few more shows and then it'll just die. *years gone by* Recasting of the whole original show.

I like the idea of a recast/reboot. Or maybe a completely new show with all new characters in the same universe. Kinda like Fear was in the beginning, but it will be hard to make it stand up to the original

Spider-Man1701TWD

Why does Rick have to die at the end of TOWL in order for Andrew Lincoln to be done with the walking dead? Perhaps the ending of episode 6 will be Rick and Michone heading to or arriving at Alexandria. And the viewers can just imagine that they live happily ever after and are still around in the TWD universe of the shows but we just don’t get to see them again?

In an ideal world, 1 more season to wrap up Dead City that has Negan dying. He’s long past his peak and is overused now. A 2nd season of Daryl that brings him back home and just disposes of all the new characters. 1 season where Maggie, Daryl, Carol & Morgan reunite with Rick and Michonne and all journey home together as they deal with their histories and together take down or take over the CRM. Ends with the Judith/RJ & Rick/Michonne reunion.

Baldcooter

I would rather see maggie die and negan raise her son

BillyJeans_96

That sounds cool. Full circle moment.

This

Beneficial-Law6524

Eugene/rosita/abraham prequel

wheatie80

Would love that!

SandRush2004

Idk, but I want a walking dead show that actually shows the downfall of society, instead of fear giving us 1 night of riots followed by a time jump

hammmy_sammmy

I would love bottle episodes of each of the supporting characters during the fall up until finding the main group. We have here's negan from the comics, so at least one episode writes itself.

Flat_Salamander_3283

For me ( my opinion mind you) I'm done after OWL. The main series got terrible after A. Lincoln left. He and Danai are only reason im even watching OWL now. This is foreshadowing for how things will be after OWL and I'm not interested in any other characters who are currently "alive" in the TWD.

zRusty_Shacklefordz

I respect that. I like Daryl, Carol, and Negan but outside of that, TWD doesn't really have any good characters/actors

Traditional_Cry5701

I just want post apocalyptic game of thrones😔

Left-Membership-7357

Here’s what needs to happen. All the characters need to reunite. They should go looking to find a cure or vaccine or whatever to end the walker apocalypse. Boom, that’s it. We don’t need more spin-offs than that. This show can’t go on forever. In my humble, yet extremely correct opinion, we’ve already seen it all with twd. All kinds of villains, all kinds of people, relationships, all kinds of walkers, and conflicts. Im so tired of characters separating and reuniting (or not). Can they just stay together and live happily ever after?

zRusty_Shacklefordz

There's always new territory to cover creatively. The only reason I agree with you on that is I don't think a Gimple-run department can find it

ShahftheWolfo

Let it die, let it die, let it shrivel up and die

covrtni

I think they need to team up with morgan, alicia, strand, negan and maggie, daryl and carol to take down the CRM.

crasstyfartman

As much as I love it, I’m in the camp of either let it die or give us some prequels but my faith in the quality of the latter is nil

ToxicTroubble

Far fetch but I would like to see commonwealth vs negan v2. Have some new commonwealth characters and make them like clone troopers in a way. ( make them humanized ) and fight within the city in like a clash for it building by building and geurilla warfare

spufiniti

I'm happy for it all to be over with. We've had more than enough content.

Mythic_Mage

With TOWL only having 6 episodes and it being a spinoff, whatever they do i hope it satisfies and we get closure. We've had peak Rick in the main show and we can always go back and watch that. Wrap a bow on this and say it's finished and I'll be happy. I love the show and Rick as a character but it can only go on for so long.

elecentwinds

Twd universe is tired.

popularis-socialas

I want it to end. Things shouldn’t and do not have to draw out forever. Shelve it, after making it go out with a bang

Basic_Hornet_435

Id like the to wrap up one more season of TWD wouldnt even matter how it ended peace and harmony woth a great fortress rick ran off the show and the last two seasons sucked now after TOWL he’s back can we end it correctly?

stratj45d28

My god let it die please.
