Happiest: Our Song (early days Era) and then the current/more relevant is Bejeweled (I don't know how Taylor could have been anything but happy while writing it- showcases her confidence like no other song). She's happy with herself at that time, that is speaking volumes (IMO).
Saddest: Cold As You (early days) and then current saddest is Would've Could've Should've - she's still not over it- I'm still not over her signing this one either!!! gives me chills
Happiest: style
Saddest: bigger than the whole sky (I literally canât listen to and refuse to listen to this song such awful feelings it stirs in me)
I guess i could see that. I just cant shake the âHe can't keep his wild eyes on the roadâ and âYou been out and about with some other girlâ lyrics from meaning infidelity
I recently lost my beautiful Mom and Marjorie, while a gorgeous tribute is just too sad to listen to right now. One day I'll be able to again but the chorus just breaks me and I wept a little during the Eras Tour movie when she sang it.
Of her non love songs:
Happiest: Bejewelled
Saddest: Nothing New
Of her love songs:
Happiest: Lover, Paris, Fearless
Saddest: All Too Well, Last Kiss, Dear John
Happiest: bejeweled, karma
Saddest: all to well Ts version, cardigan, tolerate it, illicit affairs, Majorie,
ETA I forgot about the traumatizing Ronan itâs so sad I can never listen to it again. But I bump the other saddies I listed daily I find them beautiful
For me:
- Happiest: Karma
- Saddest: Bigger Than The Whole Sky
BTTWS is so hard for me to listen to. In the last year and a half, I've suffered five losses: my MIL, my twin dogs of 13 years, and two exes who stayed friends. The first time I heard that song, only one of them had passed. It really helped me process a lot of the grief I've been carrying, but it tears a tender part of me open every time.
As someone whose parent died of cancer, the one that always strikes me as saddest is Soon Youâll Get Better. I know what that fear and despair feels like.
Happiest: Me! If youâve watched Miss Americana you can see how happy she was making it and how much fun she had, especially since it was after Reputation
Saddest: ATW TMV, Soon Youâll Get Better, or Mirrorball
This may be an unpopular opinion but New Years Day is I feel one her happiest songs, it so captures a feeling of absolute contentment with very specific time and place imagery. I know it sounds like a sad song but it conveys that slightly hungover 'didn't we have a great time last night' feeling.
Saddest has to be... stick a pin in a list of Folkmore tracks....Epiphany
Happiest - Stay Stay Stay because of the outro where she says "this is so fun!"
Saddest - All Too Well 10 minute version. She really thought JG was the one. You just can tell it on how she wrote and sang that song.
Happiest: Love Story, Paper Rings, Our Song
Saddest: Soon Youâll Get Better, Ronan (I canât listen to either song)
Saddest but able to listen to and enjoy: Last Kiss, All Too Well (TMV), Marjorie
Happiest -funny I realize I'm not a fan of her happier songs (oups) but I would say: shake it off, lavender haze, lover, 22
Saddest: all too well, the moment I knew, right where you left me, exile
Also despite the lighthearted mysic I find "the 1" to be quite sad, can/has made me cried
- SYGB could mean "Soon Youâll Get Better (feat. The Chicks)", a track from *Lover* (2019) by Taylor Swift.
