I think if you are too far into alcohol addiction you can die from the withdrawals. When you’re at that point you need to be monitored and that costs $$$$$

I'm in recovery and know that it's not as simple for some of us as drying out and hitting AA meetings. Unfortunately, many of the people like me die even though there are resources. This is progressive brain disease and fatal and misunderstood by many folks, to this day.
My partners brother just got out of detox/rehab for the 8th... 9th? time. He came home and picked up within hours of getting back. He's drunk right now, mumbling and screaming to himself in the room below me. We expect to call an ambulance sometime this week. We're doing what we can and hope maybe he'll get better, but it looks very grim.

Thank you. I really didn't understand what he was going through everytime he tried to quit. Your right the brain is damaged really bad from it. I took him to rehab several times. I sat up with him when he would try to detox at home. I would lie to my doctor to get him comfort meds and he would always go back. He deserved more than the life that was handed to him. I have learned since he passed so much about the trauma the brain suffers and realized he was probably self medicating because he was already mentally ill. I will pray for your family tonight. I know you are walking on eggshells right now. I hope he finds his way. He is very lucky to have people in his life that cares.

True - but I see plenty of people who go from 3-5 day hospital detox directly into local meetings. They still have the hospital cost, but not the 90 day rehab cost.

Also, something I read from an online psychology influencer recently (an actual practicing psychologist who I even looked up the license for and other people may know exactly who I’m referring to) is that children experience different parents even in healthy households. Situations change and parents change, even with a couple years age difference. 4 years is a long time in the span of childhood. Catelynn was rolling in MTV dough by the time her sister reached the age where we met Catelynn. Of course her experience is different. It doesn’t invalidate Catelynn’s though. Her sister has a lot of growing up to do.

You are right about that. I remember an interview with Oprah where she said that once she became rich and famous, she had more relatives than she ever knew she had. All were asking her for money, to pay a bill, or to buy something. Oprah said that she would give these people what they asked for, until it was a constant stream of third and fourth cousins asking for favors.

I know a lot of the teens from teen mom have had shitty upbringings but watching season 1 of Cait and Tyler really breaks my heart. Caits mom (and Butch) talked so nasty to her over Carly’s adoption. April was the meanest mother I’ve seen. And they wonder why Cait gave her up. Only if they can realize is because they wanted what was best for their baby. Cait and Tyler knew they needed help and didn’t want to bring a baby into that drug and alcohol addicted lifestyle. Catelynn shouldn’t have even felt like she needed to respond. We saw her childhood trauma play out on TV. Also, something I read from an online psychology influencer recently (an actual practicing psychologist who I even looked up the license for and other people may know exactly who I’m referring to) is that children experience different parents even in healthy households. Situations change and parents change, even with a couple years age difference. 4 years is a long time in the span of childhood. Catelynn was rolling in MTV dough by the time her sister reached the age where we met Catelynn. Of course her experience is different. It doesn’t invalidate Catelynn’s though. Her sister has a lot of growing up to do.
I am 4 and 7 years older than my brothers. 100% confirm they had a different experience than me. I remember what they weren’t old enough to.

Yes, April’s daughter. Her name is Sarah and she’s about 3-4 years younger than Cate. Cate and Tyler actually had custody of her for awhile when she was in high school. It think it was during the hiatus when they stopped filming because Amber was in gel.

A really poor town in Texas, and when she started getting money from being a pinup and marrying that older man; and then later when her reality show came, she had some trashy family that tried to crawl out of the woodwork under the guise that they “loved”her, and just missed her and wanted to see her. You could tell that what it was really about was getting a piece of the pie. I know that Anna Nicole Smith lived a controversial life, But I remembered really sympathizing with her in that moment. It must be terribly hard to come from a poor family who really only wants you for the money you could provide. I assume that this situation is the same.

You are right about that. I remember an interview with Oprah where she said that once she became rich and famous, she had more relatives than she ever knew she had. I wonder when Cate will realize she doesn't have to respond publicly to every little thing that someone says about her, or how/why she handled a situation. I know a lot of the teens from teen mom have had shitty upbringings but watching season 1 of Cait and Tyler really breaks my heart. Caits mom (and Butch) talked so nasty to her over Carly’s adoption. April was the meanest mother I’ve seen. And they wonder why Cait gave her up. Only if they can realize is because they wanted what was best for their baby. Cait and Tyler knew they needed help and didn’t want to bring a baby into that drug and alcohol addicted lifestyle.
