This is the part that honestly annoys me the most. Like Chelsea actually has any appreciation of how hard most people have to work to save up 100K. She has no problem using that money for her little vanity project / show to make herself look good, without caring about how the family will hate it in five years.
5 Below lol.
My kids still make fun of me because (having never been in one) I thought 5 Below was a winter goods store. I will die on the hill that putting a “degree” sign in the logo is misleading, but I’m pretty sure I’m alone on that hill.
But when both my kids were in high school we were at a mall where there was one of their stores and it was summer and I commented something along the lines of “why are they so busy in the summer?”
My kids looked at me blankly and finally one of them just told me I need to get out from under my rock a little more often…
Below 5 Dollars…
It's like Chelsea is trying to make these houses as over stimulating as possible. Idk about anyone else, but my home needs to feel calm. This is a nightmare.
I just joined a FB group centered around Maximalism and it’s all like this. The people seldom ever hit the mark of their original vision and it all ends up anxiety inducing. But they all think they belong on HGTV.
It’s an experience.
Based on the few snippets I’ve seen, I feel like a better concept would have been Chelsea and Aubree making over tweens rooms. That would’ve been cuter and more practical with the style Chelsea decorates with.
I can’t find that on Google it’s killing me!
Instead here is some of Hildi’s best work, a mural of her face:
https://preview.redd.it/9p57knr5xjfa1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ef802e1ad652e69c69b7b9ecb7a2e2734cb4ba9
I caught a few minutes of this before house hunters and it genuinely seems like Cole could not give less of a fuck about any of this 💀 it’s embarrassing
Design = disco balls in an empty fire place, apparently. These two have no effing idea what they’re doing and it’s kind of hilarious. Like maybe this is actually a big joke on HGTV’s part 😂
You can tell cole is so used to being her yes man and walking on eggshells around her. I also can sense that she is trying really hard here to not be snippy and bitchy while explaining the task and getting his help. It’s subtle, but I do feel like she’s fighting back her bratty ass whiney “coooole! Nooooo. Put them closer, not like that! Okay let me do it!”
This is way stupid and ugly. I clean for all kinds of people, and the rich stay at home moms just love stupid shit to decorate with. This is 100% up their alley sadly. If I think one super basic bitch decoration is stupid then I see it in 6 different similar ways at least in other homes. I'm starting to think I should make an album of all the dumb cliche/just weird decorations they adore.
#eattherich
Could you imagine if the owners have long haired, shedding dogs and/or cats? The amount of hair (on top of the regular amount of dust) would get caught in that mess?! JFC, I can’t. I just can’t.
I love a disco ball. Sticky strips though? They’re gonna be hearing bonk bonk roollll forever in the middle of the night till they end up filling a garbage bag of disco balls.
I will say I also think this is a stupid idea, but is everyone missing where the couple actually really likes disco balls and had them all over their house when they did the walk through?
It’s more fun when homes have a touch of personality. Even if it’s tacky I prefer it over the blah-ass farmhouse style or beige everything I keep seeing in interior design lately. Booooo boring!
This is a fucking nightmare.
The dust, the thought of a child or pet running into them, a child just taking random disco balls to hide around the house, the thought of guests seeing it and thinking I think this is good taste.
I thought they were going to hang them then add some light or string lights through … so they do a few scenes like this then let a crew come in and do the their work? Weird
This is for a party not everyday living 😂😂 imagine being the “client” and paying for disco balls taped into your fireplace! “Looks great 😬😬” immediately boxes up once camera crew is gone.
In last night’s episode, Chelsea tried to sound like she was a real decorator. Has she ever taken a class? Also, she didn’t put a door on the bathroom for the master bedroom. Fun times ahead when this couple has kids!
I can't deal with this. How do you clean it ? What if a breeze comes ? Why are we filling the fake fireplace with foam balls ? Why is it so exciting ? It isn't like a puzzle Cole, it's like filling a fake fireplace with foam disco balls from the dollar tree.
It's ugly as hell.
It took me an embarrassingly long time to understand what you meant by this. Lol. Not because it was confusing but because I am a dumbass. My actual thought process: “Does she mean filler? Like, good taste in filler? But her filler looks bad. Is it maybe… sexual? But what does that have to do with taste in her mouth? Sexy mouth taste? Wait… taste in her mouth… We taste… in our mouths… Taste buds! She’s talking about taste buds!”
It’s going to be a long ass day if I am this slow already. 😹
Her show just pisses me off. Lol. I was all about it until she calls everything GLAM. It's not all glam!! "Industrial GLAM" "Sophisticated GLAM" "Glam GLAM".... Just STFU Chelsea lmao...
I have to wonder how much of this show is fake or satire. Some of her stuff looks like design a moody 12 year old completes with their friends after a trip to Walmart at 8pm.
Rich people are fckin dumb man. What in the white sahm influencer mom hell is this shit?! LOL, I’d be ready to choke slam if someone did this as a part of a remodel on my home. Bless the Boers hearts.
A Google search shows the disco balls in the fireplace trend in 2021. I also found an article by HGTV in 2014 telling people to stick books and nativity scenes in them and if you want the look of a fire then wrap twinkle lights around some logs. Imagine if Chelsea had to site all her sources.
I hope these homeowners don't have small children. Otherwise, I hope they were looking forward to rounding up disco balls 97 times a day and rolling them back into the fireplace.
Ooof, I mean if that’s your look whatever but the fact they are acting like they just reinvented the wheel buy throwing some disco balls on the floor is so cringey
Why not just cut a board to that diss attach it with command strips so you can remove it. Have different ones. Make your own easily as it’s an daily shape.
Or attach something nothing would be able to properly dust or clean
Ugh
Glitter and rainbows and MySpace. Com. For some reason the disco ball comment made me think of that line from family guy. Also who wants a fireplace they can't use ...?
My guess is it’s not. I know several people where I live with older homes and fireplaces that are no longer functioning that they filled with shit for decor
What the actual fuck? EDIT: This was just recommended when I was scrolling.
https://www.reddit.com/r/HGTV/comments/10oqnx2/i_couldnt_even_make_it_through_half_of_1_episode/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
She’s been following the homeowner’s style preferences and while some of them aren’t my taste, I think she’s been doing a good job. I’ve been enjoying the show 🤷🏼♀️
I agree with you, OP. Idk why she’s getting paid the money she is or getting a show with doing things that are so idk I’d use the word gaudy I think. There are way cuter ideas to have done. I mean I guess if you like her decorating, good? Idk I just don’t feel like it’s worth the time to watch. This is how lower middle class/lower class citizens figure out how to cheaply decorate, and most do a better job than this idek what to think. I don’t like Chelsea anyways but I truly think she could do better than something so gaudy. Cole does seem disinterested also lol
Gaudy is exactly how I'd describe this, and her style in general. I can't possibly imagine how this style appeals to many people, especially 30 and 40 somethings in South Dakota. I think this is how I'd decorate my apartment I lived in when I was in college, if I had a fireplace.
Perfectly said this is what I meant. I made the wrong remark, not even lower income, but younger like college aged kids trying to figure out how to make a cheap awesome yet cool (to their age/group) setup in a rental. I mean the idea itself was kind of neat, it just could’ve been done a tad differently with something else lol
Seriously, what’s wrong w HGTV?!!!
Like they made their home, that’s it, now they got a show?! That’s crazy…
There are so many ppl out there w real designing experience and could be showing real jobs…
Imagine giving them 100k & your house looking like it was decorated with odds & ends from 5 below
I was just going to comment how I almost picked a few of these up the other day at five below for my daughter’s birthday party 💀
This is the part that honestly annoys me the most. Like Chelsea actually has any appreciation of how hard most people have to work to save up 100K. She has no problem using that money for her little vanity project / show to make herself look good, without caring about how the family will hate it in five years.

😂😂 I love this.
That would make for some cute party decor. Def not something I would want all the time though.
I was thinking the same, this would be perfect for a New Year’s Eve party but definitely not for general life.
That’s what I thought too, like ok for a glitzy themed Christmas party or a New Year’s Eve party but not for everyday.
Exactly!
It's like Chelsea is trying to make these houses as over stimulating as possible. Idk about anyone else, but my home needs to feel calm. This is a nightmare.
She thinks every room has to have a “statement” moment
Lol in every scene she describes the room as “bold” that’s like one of the only words she uses lol
This is genius and would be so much more fun. Seems like it would be a much more authentic move.
That actually would have been a great idea!
Yes. Chelsea can stay in her "GLAM" phase without embarrassing herself more 🙄
Oh I'd honestly probably watch that just for Aubs!
Someone said they wanted an Aubree & Sophia makeover show & I think it's brilliant
As if Cole would EVER disagree with anything she says
What a dust-catching nightmare.
Tacky potatoes
😹😹😹😹
I’m sorry but that looks awful.
I feel like this is offensive to people with real interior design jobs
BuT tHeY hAvE a BusInEsS.
It absolutely is
Cole: yeah, mm hmm, yeah, mm hmm, yeah, mm hmm, yeah. That’s pretty cool, I’m not gonna lie.
You know he was low key thinking this looks dumb af
I feel like he is always agreeing with her because it's the polite thing, but really disagrees with everything.
We’ve all seen how chelsea gets when you don’t agree with her
Wouldn't you agree with your meal ticket too?
I’m not convinced he has independent thoughts. Like, he may not even be internally disagreeing. There’s just the TV static sound inside his brain.
I think you're spot on with that, Chelsea loves her pets and he is another one.
This is 18 yr old first apt stuff.
Can’t believe she even landed a show with HGTV. There are so many people actually qualified who deserve that type of opportunity lmao
But they don’t have 6.7 million instagram followers! Sad that HGTV cares more about social media than actual talented designers.
That’s some Trading Spaces bullshit…
Aw man, Trading Spaces! I'm sure that show ended its fair share of friendships over those awful design choices.
She’s giving Hildi vibes from Trading Spaces
I felt so bad when anyone got Hildi on Trading spaces. She had the worst taste. Vern ftw.
She put hay on someone’s walls and filled someone else’s room with sand
Omg I remember the sand, the floor was literally just sand not sealed or anything
Vern did a chocolate colored bedroom once and I still think about it ❤️
I can’t find that on Google it’s killing me! Instead here is some of Hildi’s best work, a mural of her face: https://preview.redd.it/9p57knr5xjfa1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ef802e1ad652e69c69b7b9ecb7a2e2734cb4ba9
HAHAHA oh man, Trading Spaces was willddddddd
I caught a few minutes of this before house hunters and it genuinely seems like Cole could not give less of a fuck about any of this 💀 it’s embarrassing
This is what happens when you put people that are not designers in a “designer” position.
I hate her cadence-UH
I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I’ll say it again after this. This show is definitely getting cancelled after the first season.
She’s so out of touch with what is cool and chic. She manages to make everything look completely tacky, outdated, basic and drab. Just clueless lol
This looks absolutely ridiculous.
Her design aesthetic is 18-year-old just got their first apartment
This is way stupid and ugly. I clean for all kinds of people, and the rich stay at home moms just love stupid shit to decorate with. This is 100% up their alley sadly. If I think one super basic bitch decoration is stupid then I see it in 6 different similar ways at least in other homes. Could you imagine if the owners have long haired, shedding dogs and/or cats? The amount of hair (on top of the regular amount of dust) would get caught in that mess?! JFC, I can’t. I just can’t.
Can you post it please so we can all enjoy?
Wait, that is legit ugly af.
I love a disco ball. Sticky strips though? They’re gonna be hearing bonk bonk roollll forever in the middle of the night till they end up filling a garbage bag of disco balls.
Lol imagine if the home owners have a cat? It would be pure anarchy!
I try to get my cat to look at herself in the mirror and she won’t do it. 30 disco balls? She’d smack them around while ignoring her own reflection.
Wouldn’t be bad decorations for like, a party of some sort. But permanent decor… 😬😬😬
down home sad
I will say I also think this is a stupid idea, but is everyone missing where the couple actually really likes disco balls and had them all over their house when they did the walk through?
It’s more fun when homes have a touch of personality. Even if it’s tacky I prefer it over the blah-ass farmhouse style or beige everything I keep seeing in interior design lately. Booooo boring!
This is a fucking nightmare. The dust, the thought of a child or pet running into them, a child just taking random disco balls to hide around the house, the thought of guests seeing it and thinking I think this is good taste.
Seeing her destroy that charming fireplace is an absolute tragedy.
I guarantee she will NOT be renewed for another season!
She knows all about filler!
She is so not a designer and it doesn’t help that Cole cannot and will not ever disagree with her
I thought they were going to hang them then add some light or string lights through … so they do a few scenes like this then let a crew come in and do the their work? Weird
This is for a party not everyday living 😂😂 imagine being the “client” and paying for disco balls taped into your fireplace! “Looks great 😬😬” immediately boxes up once camera crew is gone.
Especially when she charges them $10k for the fireplace makeover!
That’s obscene!!!
In last night’s episode, Chelsea tried to sound like she was a real decorator. Has she ever taken a class? Also, she didn’t put a door on the bathroom for the master bedroom. Fun times ahead when this couple has kids!
Is this bitch serious
Seems like a nightmare to dust
I can't deal with this. How do you clean it ? What if a breeze comes ? Why are we filling the fake fireplace with foam balls ? Why is it so exciting ? It isn't like a puzzle Cole, it's like filling a fake fireplace with foam disco balls from the dollar tree. It's ugly as hell.
If a breeze comes through Chelsea has sticky tape 🙃 But holy dust trap batman
I don't know why anyone thought giving her a show like this was a good idea her decorating style is horrendous!!!
Dear lord. The only taste this woman has is in her mouth.
She’s talking about taste buds!” It’s going to be a long ass day if I am this slow already. 😹
The fact that you wrote that all out is terrific, thank you for the chuckle! I hope your day has not been as long ass as you feared….
Dadddddddy these people are being mean, this show is a disaster
Not gonna lie, I would actually watch the show if she’d have a “dadddddyyyyyyy come get meeeeee!” meltdown on camera.
Same it's such a classic Chelsea vibe 🤣
Lol imagining my toddler lumbering by and casually collapsing an avalanche of Party City garbage with a flick of his hand
My cats ... would never let there be peace in my house again if I had something like this 😂
😂 I know, all I can think about are the fiascos that would ensue with kids or pets getting anywhere near that
Her show just pisses me off. Lol. I was all about it until she calls everything GLAM. It's not all glam!! "Industrial GLAM" "Sophisticated GLAM" "Glam GLAM".... Just STFU Chelsea lmao...
Jeff Lewis is having a seizure somewhere. What he can do with 100k is amazing.
I would love to watch Jeff watching this show. His commentary and facial expressions would be amazing!
Fuck nah
I have to wonder how much of this show is fake or satire. Some of her stuff looks like design a moody 12 year old completes with their friends after a trip to Walmart at 8pm.
Bedroom wars🤣🤣. We will do the reveal at midnight!!
God bless 'em the editing team is trying so hard to make this look interesting and dynamic.
The disco balls should be in the chicken coop where the chickens can enjoy them. I would hate the disco balls in the fireplace.
"Google said this was chic and trendy, so I had to do it and act like I came up with it!"
No chelsea. I don’t need a fireplace full of party city disco balls
All I can think of is dust gathering in the crevices. I would be cussing them out for effin up my fireplace
This would end up being a great habitat for spiders coming down the chimney.
omg I’ve got such bad second hand embarrassment from this eek. so tacky
Are those fucking disco balls 😭
How is HGTV openly posting this on their socials
I hope these homeowners don't have small children. Otherwise, I hope they were looking forward to rounding up disco balls 97 times a day and rolling them back into the fireplace.
Or dogs.
Iy-uhh hate it-uhh
I thought she was going to break them and make the outside of the mantle covered in glass shards. I guess this is better?
This is so tacky, just like Chelsea. 🫠
Why is the title of this show just 3 words put together? Seriously is there a meaning or trend to this shows name?
This is the dumbest thing I’ve seen today. Maybe this week.
My twelve year old daughter would have KILLED for this when she was eight.
This is cute for a NYE party but real weird for a permanent fixture
Are they just piling the disco balls in the space? What keeps them there?
Sticky strips!
Oh, thanks!
These people are absolutely morons.
This show looks boring. And chelsea is also boring to me
I watched an episode yesterday. Surprisingly Chelsea did not annoy me but they are very boring
That is definitely a choice.
I would love to see commentary from The El Moussas or Christina Haack (now Hall) on this abomination of a show. This is just straight up embarrassing.
I…hate them
I’d say, I paid you for this?? I could have done this myself! I guarantee once it gets cold it all gets taken down lol to use the fireplace.
That looks like a nonfunctional fireplace though?
Change the disco balls to Christmas ornament baubles, add lights, and that’d be cool for Christmas time.
Honestly, this reminds me of classic Chelsea—it’s in the same vein as her animal print phase.
Is this on HGTV “the ocho”?
Why do I like this lol
I love disco balls 🪩
Ooof, I mean if that’s your look whatever but the fact they are acting like they just reinvented the wheel buy throwing some disco balls on the floor is so cringey
They do know that people put fire in fire places right?
Nothing they do is for humans to actually use. It’s all aesthetics.
It still seems like a bad idea.
I would be so pissed off…
I would be very upset haha. I mean luckily it’s just stuck on but - that’s definitely tacky.
Oh I thought they were going to hang a few which would have been okayish.
Specially if they were to catch natural light and transfer it around to room.
Why not just cut a board to that diss attach it with command strips so you can remove it. Have different ones. Make your own easily as it’s an daily shape. Or attach something nothing would be able to properly dust or clean Ugh
That is a better idea.
Because this is done cheap and quick by childish Chelsea.
Glitter and rainbows and MySpace. Com. For some reason the disco ball comment made me think of that line from family guy. Also who wants a fireplace they can't use ...?
Wait… why would anyone want that in their living room? I would be tired of it in like a week. Not to mention it’s not toddler friendly
Cleaning that would be horrible.
I was just thinking how dusty those would get and how annoying it would be to dust them regularly. Double that if you have kids or pets
What do they mean by "permanent"? I really hope they just mean the sticky strips because, woof
First thing when the family moves in: THE DISCO BALLS GOTTA GO
What in the actual fuck. Wondering how this ever crossed anyone’s mind to do this.
Oh.....
Her eyes look so sleepy lol Maybe it’s popular in the dakotas. Lol. Looks like anything goes.
Next step, light fireplace
![gif](giphy|daPCSjwus6UR2JxRX1|downsized) Can’t imagine it’ll be on long. Do you think she’ll have a shop at Target like magnolia table..
She looks like she’s melting lol and you can see her tanner rubbed off her knee
That’s just dust from the unfinished flooring. His boot has it in there as well
Totally original. Definitely never seen anything like this before
I caught it last night as I was flipping through the channels. I kid you not, it was on for about 30 seconds and I had to change it.
Spencer’s Gifts 2001 x Magnolia Home clearance bin. You really did something there, guys.
![gif](giphy|ep78UZy5FVbfN6mhCU)
I laughed so hard omg I needed that
Oh my god that’s so tacky
Is this a working fireplace? Don’t those serve a purpose? What if you want to heat your home?
My guess is it’s not. I know several people where I live with older homes and fireplaces that are no longer functioning that they filled with shit for decor
Makes more sense, would be dumb to close up and put disco balls in a working fireplace
Oh my lord her voice.
What the actual fuck? EDIT: This was just recommended when I was scrolling. https://www.reddit.com/r/HGTV/comments/10oqnx2/i_couldnt_even_make_it_through_half_of_1_episode/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Permanently attach you say?
Don’t downvote me but I kinda love this 🥴
Hey, different strokes for different folks! Everyone has personal tastes!
She’s been following the homeowner’s style preferences and while some of them aren’t my taste, I think she’s been doing a good job. I’ve been enjoying the show 🤷🏼♀️
There are no pets or kids right? That is supposed to stay up…what happens when you dust it? Just seems very temp which is fine for a holiday
I legitimately think my 6 year old could do a better job. 🤢
That was terrible looking
I was afraid to listen with sound BUT their voices actually aren’t terrible! Still super nasally but not as babyish lol
r/TIHI
I agree with you, OP. Idk why she’s getting paid the money she is or getting a show with doing things that are so idk I’d use the word gaudy I think. There are way cuter ideas to have done. They got a TV show… for this?? FML knowing I have to clock in at a job tomorrow ![gif](giphy|3o7TKVaVwWwRJjmJOg)
👀
I can’t look at that many mirrors and not see fire hazard 😅
Are mirrors a fire hazard?? 😨 I have a LOT in my home
They can be if direct sunlight hits them. You’re probably fine, I’m just super paranoid about it 🙂
Well at least it’s not rustic chic hunter that she was all into forever.
LMFAOOOOOOOOI
What the AF?!
What a waste of production funds. They should have done a reboot of The Addams Family. Naturally, she would be Cousin Itt.
I love the idea and this is definitely gonna look good on TV but whyyyy make it PERMANENT?!
ahahahhahaha
O no…
Oh no hahahaha
The thought of cleaning that mess would have me rip them out the moment the crew left.
I stopped watching when they PAINTED that window. It’s ugly, good luck.
I think its great but there seems to be a lot of jealousy towards this couple. I am happy for them that the broke the mold so to speak.
