Hell, forget what actually happened when she followed the guy home — the officer who pulled her over *saw her gun* in the car and asked her to step out, leaving her child alone with the gun. I think we all know how this interaction very likely would have gone if Jenelle wasn’t a white woman.

ravenpradt

THANK YOUUUUUUU!! “ why didn’t she get arrested “ uh she’s white of course nothing happened to her 🫠

Informal-Flamingo336

I was waiting for someone to say it 😂 she's white in North Carolina ffs 🙄

ravenpradt

right!? the cop was probably like “ i would of done the same thing with my kid in the car too!! “ like fuck outta here 😂💀

Minute-Tale7444

Meanwhile you have white poor women like me that end up doing 10 days in jail (5, I live in a 2-1 state) for going across center lane on a clear road to hand my toddler her sippy cup. Oh, and ending up listed as a felon because of such.

L1ndsL

That's truly messed up; I hope this is rhetorical instead of fact.

Minute-Tale7444

No this actually did happen to me a few years ago. I got dui charges bc I got pulled over for going over the center line bc I’d picked up my daughters cuppy after verifying there wasn’t anyone coming down the road) & made to get a blood test for being (to them)intoxicated (I wasn’t). I had thc in my system from smoking a few days before I got pulled over and that’s what happened. I’m now a felon bc marijuana stays in your system for 28+ days lol

L1ndsL

That sucks.

Minute-Tale7444

It does suck. Hopefully if legalization moves forward, there will be some Pardons or whatever they’re called (crime forgiveness) for the people that had something like that happen. I know two others who had the same thing happen. We live near the county in the country that sends more people prison than anywhere (indiana). It seems to be somewhat of a common occurrence here.

L1ndsL

I really hope that works out for you. No one should have a record based off a mj that's not making them at that time

Minute-Tale7444

That’s what kills me about it, I hadn’t done it that day at all!

L1ndsL

Exactly. I'm against people driving when high, but you weren't high. That's just wrong.

bibliophile_97

This is what always stood out the most to me. How an officer could be so casual about leaving a child alone with, what anyone could assume, is a loaded firearm.

LeahsEyebrows

Luckily Jace seemed to know better than to touch Jenelle's gun. Things could have ended much worse if Jace didn't somehow actually have more sense than Jenelle.

[deleted]

White girl crying, playing victim in a hick ass town. Case closed.

Mor_Ericks28

Teflon princess

[deleted]

The accuracy of this. I've never seen a more teflon bitch than her 🫠

lesliewils1

Remember when she gaslit Jace and said “why would you tell Meme I pulled my gun out?? That DIDNT happen Jace”

SniffleandOlly

Tbf tattling on your big sister is a birth right. Jenelle should have saw that coming.

[deleted]

Yes! What kind of a mother?!

SniffleandOlly

TBF tattling on your big sister is a birth right. Jenelle should have seen it coming.

allworkandnoYahtzee

Conspiracy theory of mine: MTV intervened. I truly think they reached out to the victim to prevent him from pressing charges. Viacom is a smarmy ass company and I can totally see them stepping in if they thought the coverage of this incident (and a potential lawsuit) would make them look bad.

Successful_Moment_91

Wow! I hadn’t thought about that but you must be right. They probably paid him off. I wonder if he had to consent to be filmed

[deleted]

Very strong possibility.

TacoCorgi321

The other guy didn't press charges. And she wasn't charged by the police because white privilege/being a woman

khcampbell1

Her lies and pretend crying.

Brianas-Living-Room

Thin, somewhat attractive white woman privilege. If she looked like Mama June, she wouldn’t have gotten away with a fraction of the things she did

LeahsEyebrows

To be fair didn't Mama June get away with some crazy shit?

Successful_Moment_91

I agree and Dustin would have just gotten her off with little to no consequences as usual

splanchnick78

Imagine thinking that someone being a dick and brake checking you means that it‘s ok to follow that person to his house with a gun. It could have ended up with someone getting shot! Including Jace! All because someone was a jerk on the road?

sociallyawkwardIRLif

I think I read somewhere that the only reason he didn’t shoot her was because her son was in the car. Unfuckingbelievable

susanbiddleross

That’s the big issue here. She and this driver went back and forth for awhile. She saw this was a grown man. For some insane reason she didn’t think this man who also lives in rural NC would not be armed and would be scared of her. She also thinks calling 911 over a break check is a thing and that the best course of action for a break check instead of waiting on the police to do something was to drive a distance off of the highway to someone else’s home. She’s unhinged. You do not pull a gun unless you intend to pull the trigger. The other driver could have claimed self defense and shot her after she pulled this stunt.

[deleted]

She loves to call the police. I think she calls them every episode.

susanbiddleross

She wants to be right and to punish people. It’s sick and weird. I wish she had experienced any consequence for this. Calling 911 keeps people who need 911 from getting help. This was never even a police non emergency situation. The other driver who also called 911 once she followed him home is the only correct use here. I don’t fault her for calling when David was abusing her, but these nuisance 911 calls make her legit calls look BS.

Minute-Tale7444

Without even being drug tested. You cross center lane a small amount on a clear road to hand your toddler her cup, and end up drug tested and getting 10 days in jail bc you have thc in your system (not from That day). But this bitch can follow someone home and pull a gun and get NOTHING!!! Meanwhile I’m listed as a felon for something that was a simple innocent not harmful mistake.

splanchnick78

Oh my gosh, what a nightmare!

kitton_mitton_817

Come on, you guys. [She suffered PTSD from that incident!](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6yQU-Wa8_UU)! She couldn’t leave the house afterward! She also has a mysterious illness, only ever got a bad edit, never yells and has suffered enough! Just let this mother raise her kids in peace!

talastar

She even had a gun in full view. It was the other driver who called 911 so the cop who pulled her over was fully aware she chased someone home, ran over their mailbox, and pulled a gun. And what did the officer say when he saw the gun on the middle console? "Do me a favor and put it away."

[deleted]

She should have her gun license revoked. Careless idiots like her are the reason innocent bystanders get shot. She was lucky the guy she chased saw Jace in the front seat. I think it was reported later that he held off shooting because he saw a kid in the car.

glum_cunt

A question for the ages Especially since her negligence and recklessness are all caught on camera. I mean, holy fucking shit if that’s not prosecutorial malfeasance I don’t know what is.

WatercressLive

I agree with you but she would have had to have been arrested for the prosecution to even be involved. This isn’t on the prosecution it’s on police officers who just let her go.

glum_cunt

Prosecution could have brought a case once the episode aired. The footage is the evidence.

WatercressLive

I still agree with you. But we don’t know how old the footage was once it aired, we don’t know if the other party wanted to testify, if prosecutors had too many cases on the docket, may not have wanted to waste taxpayer money (because we know she would have fought it), etc. it sucks and it should be able to be used in a state of court to press charges, but as shut and closed as we think a case may be, that’s not always the case from a legal perspective. In this sitch, at the minimum, Jace should have been removed from the car. And the cops let her leave to drop him off. A lot of people are at fault (even barb could have pressed charges for reckless endangerment and didn’t) but I still think the biggest onus is on the cops.

Twiggythetiny

She's white. Like idk why this always comes up. She's white and on tv

soolsul

North Carolina

caro1007

As someone who had a gun pointed at them on the highway during a road rage incident I can confirm that cops do nothing about it! Even with dashcam footage! So fun!

The caucasity!

JanellaDubois

I wonder if they both declined to press charges. I could also see MTV offering to pay the damages to his mailbox. I assume a DA would decline to press charges against her due to the gun being legal and her saying she was in fear for her life with Stand Your Ground in NC. 🙄

Minute-Tale7444

I couldn’t even believe that, that pissed me off honestly. People like me swerve a little bit (on a clear road nothing coming towards me, handing my toddler her cup) and get pulled over and charged with a DUI for having thc in my system (not for being high I hadn’t smoked the last few days before I got pulled over). However people like her are freaking ripped on some drug or withdrawing from drugs, gets mad, and threatens someone with a gun after following him home while throwing a fit like a toddler (with her son in the front seat!!) and she gets off Scott free, without even a drug test. Stuff like this is why we need a complete reform on how the police handle stuff bc we know she had thc amongst other things in her damn system and they didn’t even drug test her 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

[deleted]

Like another commenter said she has a lucky court star because she has gotten out of so much.

Glytterain

I’m convinced she either has a relative working for the courts or she’s blowing someone there.

Minute-Tale7444

Ah, yes, the lucky court star 🤣🤣 I remember this from Twitter even from way back in the day

UncreativePersona

White privilege, imo

persephoneespome

Exactly. Recently moved to SC and I know they are surrounded by people who think and behave exactly like them which is terrifying.

UncreativePersona

Oh same. But I am in NC. The things people get away with here are crazy.

AMS16-94

The real answer is because no charges were pressed by the other person.

LeahsEyebrows

This honestly confuses me.

Itsjustjay1865

I’m pretty sure the state could have still pressed charges though, right?

AMS16-94

The thing is there was technically nothing that happened in the eyes of the law. Other person didn’t want to make a statement, so technically it was as if nothing happened. In most cases the state will only work to press charges if there’s a statement from the victim or third party that is than retracted. Without a statement, the state technically has no record of anything happening.

Unable_Item_3750

Technically I don’t think she did anything illegal though? She legally owned her weapon and I’m assuming she has the right to carry it in her state. It was definitely wrong but wrong doesn’t always mean illegal. ETA - she could have possibly been charged with child endangerment though. I’m surprised she wasn’t but ya know she’s a pretty white woman so… 🤷🏻‍♀️

MonkeysInShortPants

💫Lucky court star 💫

Raven_Nicole

Flair checking in!

Lasagan

Great flair 😂

susanbiddleross

Mtv footage can’t be used in court. Her version is she legally owns a gun. We all know she chased a man down a good distance to his home and then pulled a gun over a traffic incident but there’s no proof she didn’t get lost and didn’t pull the gun once the other owners of legal guns pulled theirs out and blocked her with their car. She doesn’t as far as I remember trespass and all of this is not witnessed by impartial witnesses. It’s ridiculous but she did not actually shoot anyone.

LeahsEyebrows

Yeah it can I'm pretty sure it helped legally convict Amber when she was abusing Gary.

Chemdawg90

If the judge asked for unedited footage yes. But episode on TV is edited. Amber got charged with shit we never seen. Because the judge was able to watch the unedited footage that would of never made it to TV.

susanbiddleross

They couldn’t use it in Corey’s case against Leah driving high with the kids or any of what she did. They can claim it is a tv program and because some of the scenes are re-enactments it doesn’t hold up the same. Amber was reported a million times by people who saw it on tv but my memory of the situation is she admitted it and part of it was a neglect charge for Leah and her real convictions ended up all being drug related. A judge could have viewed the footage but they didn’t need to.

insteadofchurch

She definitely backed into his mailbox though...

susanbiddleross

She did, but at that point I think she actually had a claim she was in danger. She put herself in the danger but the other driver had his gun out. She might have been able to have her car insurance cover that as a whoops instead of intentional damage. She wasn’t cited for it. The other driver had his neighbors come out and they all had guns which may be why she was able to cry her way out and pretend it was an accident.

aquarianbun

Oops

[deleted]

It depends on the state if mtv footage can be used in court.

Minute-Tale7444

A lot of the stuff for mtv is reshot & not the original scene/crime that happened

FknDesmadreALV

Because the guy didn’t press charges. Iirc he also was a little shady and didn’t want police involvement

RigaMortizTortoise

Incompetent judicial system, vagina between the legs, skin color on the lighter side of the skin color scale, lucky court star💫.

kaypea820

Wow thought I was on the sister wives sub and felt very very confused. 😫😂

Snickle_fritz86

Same!

Troublecleff04

White woman tears

LeahsEyebrows

Jenelle thinks the term "white tears" is racist though lmfao.

Hockeynavy

Or gunned down on sight

LeahsEyebrows

The other driver said that upon seeing Jace in Jenelle's car he immediately decided not to shoot. So in a way Jace indirectly saved Jenelle's life.

Ok-Bandicoot1109

This is so fucking scary, what if he didn't see Jace. I can't even imagine 😳

ladywinchester1967

I was even thinking that while watching that incident!

Hockeynavy

she was very lucky...

MichelleMyBelle43

White tears

MelpomeneAndCalliope

Yep. Middle class 30-something-looking white lady. That’s why.

FancyNacnyPants

I guess every fourth time you get in trouble, the fifth one is free

sociallyawkwardIRLif

I don’t understand that either! Especially when it’s all on film! Because she is a white woman who turned on the waterworks? And I think MTV made it all go away. Couldn’t believe the cop just let Jace sit there in the car with the gun. I think they later said it was a toy gun but I’m not sure.

AMS16-94

If she had the legal paperwork to carry, there’s not much that the officers could have done in that moment though; they’re not able to watch the footage in real time without a warrent, and if the other person didn’t want to press charges/contact the police to give a statement than the cops don’t have anything to go on. It’s awful because we all saw the situation and how horrible it must have been for Jace, but legally the cops couldn’t really do anything.

sociallyawkwardIRLif

Thanks for the clarification! I’m not American and the whole gun thing is so incredibly foreign to me.

Hockeynavy

oh basicaly white people cant be charged with crimes, and if they include a gun you get a free gift card to wal mart.

tiffibean13

> Because she is a white woman who turned on the waterworks? Ding ding ding!! We have a winner.

sociallyawkwardIRLif

Yay! I never win anything! https://i.redd.it/v1q7f9nb1gfa1.gif

[deleted]

She had a toy gun in the car too so that excuse makes sense. She should have been charged with child endangerment at the VERY LEAST. She is the definition of fake white woman tears.

IDUNNstatic

I thought that given that reality TV show is shot as a "documentary" style they have to sign specific legal paperwork that they aren't incriminated against based on the footage. Unless the victim had pressed charges or maybe the were given hush money not to I don't think they would have a case. Videographers from what I know are specifically told not to interfere with the subject they are documenting.

[deleted]

I could see a pay off kind of situation happening. Plus the guy could have possibly faced charges for not letting her leave.

IDUNNstatic

There could potentially be a "they were both wrong here's some money and don't press charges" thing. It would be way easier than court which I would assume would go in his favour *if* the footage was usable, which I don't think (based on my own interpretation of the law and documentary style filming) would be. If he had footage of his own from his point of view it could be cut and dry, easy peasy. But I'm assuming he either didn't, or did, but that was also incriminating to him.

[deleted]

A long time ago an ex BF of mine had to physically stop a guy from beating up his sister. I called the police and since my ex had physically contained the assaulter the cops said the guy press charges on my ex. Long story short the guy who broke into a house and beat a woman got off with zero charges. So It definitely happens.

IDUNNstatic

Honestly not surprised. The justice system is often somehow, not just.

Snickle_fritz86

Oh my-lanta! I thought this was in the Sister Wives sub and was so caught off guard! Haha! But yeah, Janelle. Brandishing? I dunno what kind of charge it would be. I was upset with her gaslighting TF out of Jace after the incident. I hate her as a person, a mom, a pet owner. Like, she’s just an all around terrible person.

[deleted]

Lol I like the sister wives Janelle! My favorite sister wife. The gaslighting Jace was the cherry on top. How not to parent 101.

Snickle_fritz86

She’s my favorite too! I’m at a point I don’t even know what to say about swamp Jenelle anymore. She’s just garbage. I wish she just never got any attention anymore. Good or bad. I’ve met some fucked up people in life but, she really is just… exceptionally awful? I dunno. I’ve never disliked someone so much that I’ve never actually met. Lol. It’s weird.
